Chapter 15: Weapon Selection [2]

Chapter 15: Weapon Selection [2]

I recently ordered a rank F dagger Skill before entering the academy, and I paid 3000 Den for it.

I was not the type to follow in the footsteps of fictional mcs who go on dangerous quests in search of legendary sword Arts or Skills in some jungle.

I had different plans in mind. Yes, I did go to Avalonia for mystery of teleportation, but, it was safe.

Anyway.

Originally, I had around 5000 Den in my account, but after the purchase, I was only left with 2000.

The art skill arrived this morning.

──────────────────────

Skill Rank: F→???????????????? ????????????????

Description: Skill allows user to transfer their momentum and inertia from their initial position to their final position.

The power of each attack will grow stronger than the last one.

"Which weapon should I use?" I asked myself. "Considering my F rank dagger skill..."my words trailed off as I contemplated, 'But a dagger is not the best choice. Perhaps a machete would be more practical?'

It was important to note that a dagger skill can be used on a butter knife or short sword, whereas a glaive skill can find application in both spears and javelins.

But, a dagger 'Art' was exclusive to only one type of weapon: the dagger.

That was the difference between Art and skill.

With this in mind, I opted to grab a machete. Machete was more of a tool then a weapon and right now, I had no expertise in any weapon. I would probably change my weapon later, but for now...

Aurora thrust her rapier and swiftly pulled it back.

'My primary advantage lies in my ability to control lightning, a unique trait passed down from my family's extensive background in magic,' Aurora thought.

Even at a young age, she recognized that lightning is not just a form of magic, but also a potent form of energy.

She opted to use a rapier instead of a wand, as it allowed her to direct and amplify her lightning strikes.

The only drawback was that she had to be in close proximity to her target and as a mage that was the last thing you want.

Despite swinging the rapier for the past several minutes, she still couldn't seem to get a grip on it.

Aoi, on the other hand, gracefully practiced with the dummy using a glaive.

It was evident that he had experience with the weapon.

Suddenly, a voice interrupted her musings, "Do you need help with the rapier?"

Aurora turned to see a curly-haired boy with a ebony complexion standing before her.

"Yes?" Aurora raised an eyebrow and asked, "Shouldn't you be practicing instead of teaching me?"

The guy responded with a simpering smile, admitting, "I find delight in being able to help a beauty."

Ignoring his flattery, Aurora replied with a smile, "What I meant is that the supervisors are here to assist us. I don't see how your presence is needed."

Based on his mana, Aurora estimated him to be around G, and she didn't think a weakling like him could offer any significant help.

Before he could reply, Takahasi interrupted, "Maybe you should just leave her alone?"

The scene made others sigh in sorry as they watched.

"Got it! Bye!" he exhaled before hurrying away.

Noah lay gasping on the ground, his chest heaving after swinging his machete for straight one hour under the eyes of a nameless instructor.

It was an enormous area, spreading out as far as four football stadiums.

The A21 Training ground was divided into parts, providing a ranges for different students.

The centre of the training ground housed the sparring area.

The shooting range was an ideal location for those seeking to master long-ranged weapons such as bows, javelins and guns.

Noah just came from the melee section, where enchanted training dummies made of unique polyfibre carbon could be found.

It was evident that the A-21 training ground served as more than just a regular gym or exercise facility.

????????'?? ??????(???????? ???????? ????????):

I lay on the ground, exhausted and panting.

I could feel the exhaustion in every inch of my body, and as I closed my eyes, my senses were heightened.

The cool, hard surface beneath me was a welcome respite my burning muscles.

The weight of my body sank into the metal. My breaths were short, labored, and its sound played in my ears.

As I opened my eyes, I saw the machete in my hand, still tightly gripped like a lifeline.

The non-stop practicing had pushed me to my limits, and yet, preserved.

I noticed that the ceiling of the training space was least three storeys high.

The sight was pretty insane, to be honest.

I observed others whilst still keeping it close to the ground.

Over there, I could see fellow students firing shots at dummies.

The shooting range had a greenish grass carpet unlikes the melee section I am in.

The notion of transmigrating to my own novel seemed surreal at the first, but now my mind is slowly accepting the truth. Maybe this world really is just my novel?

Maybe, I really am it's creator.

'There was also a possibility that I myself am just a character in someone else's novel if I go by this logic, so I will disregard the theory that this world is a novel,' I examined my ideas only to discard them with absurdity.

As I scanned the area, my gaze stopped on the armory section where a variety of weapons were displayed.

But, my eyes paused on one particular weapon—the gun.

In this world guns were considered useless and for obvious reasons.

That's also the reason people of this world never tried to invent anything related to weapons of science.

There were no laser based weapons. Naturally nobody ever invented neuclear warhead either. But...

"But what about weapons from my world?" the question escaped me, as my gaze fixated on the gun with intensity of unknown.

"It's true that ordinary bullets cannot kill monsters, but...," my voiced trailed off as my brows furrowed.

'What about ultra-vibrating bullets?'

'Lasers, rail guns, electro guns, energy guided discs, particle beams, chemical weapons, sound weapons, ultra-sonic missiles, plasma weapons, red bombs, magnetic disruptors, electric bombs, nuclear warheads or even anti-matter bombs?'

"If I were to nuke the demon king, would he survive?" I asked, to whom I didn't know.

Probably it was a question directed at fate.

Looking at the machete in my hand, I felt anger building up in me.

'Why should I struggle so hard just to survive every time?'

'Are the Demon King and Dragoth King worth sparing? What is preventing me from obliterating them with anti-matter warheads?'

As the thoughts crossed my mind, I realised that these questions were not directed at my fate.

No... this was a challenge. A direct challenge to fate which always kept fucking with me.

No, this is wrong...

"I must control my anger," I realized, fully aware of my temper.

Taking a deep breath, I loosened myself.
