Chapter 305 Final Battle (17)
"I didn't defeat anyone that could use time magic before… is it because Luneria is my ally?" Ethan rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
In any case, Ethan bought and enhanced that set for Emily as well. She was completely astonished when she saw it… Maybe with that, she could reach her goal of repairing the relationship with her parents.
"... I keep owing you favors…" Emily said and then sighed. "What am I going to do about this?"
"You can start by stopping asking my sister about my three sizes," Ethan replied.
"It is almost virtually impossible to have a serious conversation with you," Emily said. "Still, I will repay the favor someday."
Amidst the tension and impending battle, Ethan stood before his friends, his gaze steady and his voice filled with a mix of determination and humor. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he knew that in moments like these, a bit of levity could lighten the heavy atmosphere and bolster their spirits.
"My friends, we stand on the precipice of our greatest challenge yet. The final boss, the embodiment of chaos itself, awaits us with bated breath. But fear not! For we are not just a ragtag group of misfits but a force to be reckoned with!" Ethan said while gesturing around. "We've faced trials and tribulations, absurd puzzles, and ridiculous side quests. We've battled monsters of all shapes and sizes and survived encounters that would make even the most seasoned adventurer quiver in their boots. But let me tell you this, my friends. We are not defined by the challenges we face but by how we rise above them. We are a team bound by a shared purpose and unwavering friendship. And together, we will face this last boss with courage in our hearts and a dash of absurdity in our souls! The One Piece is real!"
"I am not sure if I like Ethan. That never breaks the character or the moody one bothered by the forgotten voices," Emily said and then sighed.
"Well, despite the choice of words, he has a point… let's defeat the enemy," Dante said.
"We can't afford to fail here," Aline said.
"You two, just be sure to stay on the backline and don't get in the line of sight of the enemy," Ian said while looking at Anna and Mary.
"As long as you do your job, we won't have to worry," Anna said and then sighed. "I can't afford to lose here… I have many things that I want to do."
"I will do my best to help everyone," Mary said.
Everyone said their piece, so it was time for the final showdown. The group began to advance while jumping and flying over the floating Islands around, and they could feel that they were getting closer to the target, even though they couldn't see a thing. The reason for that was the tremendous cold and bloodlust that they could feel. It was truly off the charts…
Before long, the group found a massive island floating in the distance. It was dozens of kilometers long and wide, and while they moved toward it for a while, it didn't feel like they were getting any closer to it.
Before Ethan and his friends stood a colossal island stretching as far as the eye could see. The sight was awe-inspiring, for it appeared to be one massive stage devoid of any structures or obstacles. The Island's surface was smooth and featureless, like a blank canvas awaiting the touch of destiny.
"It seems that the stage is set… I was expecting that chaos would be something like a blob, but I guess I was wrong," Ethan said while scratching the back of his head.
"I was imagining a giant as well, but… I don't see anyone or anything in there," Dante added.
A nervous tension gripped the group as they stood on the massive, seemingly empty stage. The absence of any visible enemies heightened their anxiety, for they knew that their final adversary, the embodiment of chaos, lurked somewhere within their sight. Despite the clarity of their vision, the inability to detect the enemy's presence sent shivers down their spines.
Their eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for any signs of movement or disturbance. The uncertainty gnawed at their minds, amplifying the weight of the impending battle. The visible base in the distance only added to the sense of unease, for it served as a stark reminder that the enemy had the advantage of hidden knowledge and familiarity within this chaotic realm.
The group approached for a while and eventually landed on the Island. With their guard up, they looked in all directions, but they didn't see anything or anyone. Still, the ominous area was so intense that even just walking was just too tiresome for them.
"Pace yourselves… the enemy wants us to find them," Ethan said.
As the group cautiously moved forward on the expansive stage, a growing sense of intrigue overcame them. Despite the initial emptiness, their footsteps led them toward a colossal wall that seemed to materialize out of thin air. Their eyes widened in surprise as they noticed a massive curtain draping down from the top of the wall, obscuring whatever lay beyond.
Curiosity mingled with a tinge of apprehension as they approached the towering structure. The presence of the curtain suggested a deliberate act of concealment, heightening the mystery surrounding their final destination. Eager to uncover what awaited them, they exchanged glances filled with anticipation and resolve.
As the curtain faltered and fell away, the group stood in awe as a mesmerizing spectacle unfolded before them. Instead of a single view, they were greeted by a myriad of screens suspended in mid-air, each displaying a different dimension. These screens acted as portals, offering glimpses into various realms and revealing a tapestry of events unfolding across time and space.
The scenes that played out before their eyes were both captivating and unsettling. They witnessed wars raging, filled with chaos and destruction, while elsewhere, duels of skill and strategy unfolded with breathtaking precision. Betrayals and deceit unfolded in some dimensions, while others showcased daring acts of thievery and cunning.
