Chapter 15 Interruption
While Ethan was watching Emily entering one of the classes, he wondered if his life would be like that… filled with temperamental teenagers. He knew very well how easily young people tend to go easily swayed by the idea of power. Although the school wasn't as chaotic as he had thought, he wasn't expecting much from it, considering that the representant of the F class was Emily. She was cute but, again, too temperamental.
"I guess I should go to another run on the simulator," Ethan muttered. "But before that, I should allocate the status points I obtained and upgrade my gear. I doubt that in the second stage, I will need any armor, so one good weapon should be enough. The short sword is about to break despite me trying to fight as careful as possible."

"I guess this should do for the time being," Ethan nodded in satisfaction.
He allocated five points to strength and other five to physic, and thanks to that, he increased his condition and health. Ethan was the type who fought alone for long periods of time, so those were absolutely necessary to the fighting style he developed.
"It looks like even after the reset, my status still works in the same manner," Ethan said.
That was kind of a relief. He thought that things would change a bit because of the second unknown class.
"Let's see… an iron sword should be enough to crush those slimes," Ethan said and then opened his shop after confirming that no one was nearby. "Hahaha, I remember this one was quite difficult to master."
Iron Sword (Common) (+0)
Attack: 5 – 10
Durability: 25/25
ραпdα nᴏνa| сom Effects: None
The iron sword was quite large and a bit heavy. Despite that, it felt right on Ethan's hands. Probably because it was one of the weapons he used most in the other world. Regardless, Ethan put it in his inventory and then headed toward the elevator. However, when the door finally opened, Ethan saw Lyla. Another interruption appeared, and Ethan knew that she would make him waste a lot of time.
"Ethan?" Lyla asked. "Where is Emily? Did she show you most of the building already?"
"Yes, she just entered that class over there," Ethan said while entering the elevator. "Now, if you excuse me, I have an urgent meeting that I need to attend to."
"By a meeting, you are talking about the VR simulator, right?" Lyla smiled. "I know that is something that greatly interests boys of your age, but before using one of them, you should get acquainted with your classmates. Although you won't see them every day, you at least should meet all of them as soon as possible."
"I think I will pass," Ethan showed a forced smile. "I can meet them another time. I'm pretty sure that the simulator rooms can't be used whenever I want, so I need to hurry before all of them get occupied."
"You are wrong about that. Only a handful of students use the simulators every day since they quickly get bored of it due to the difficulty," Lyla said. "New students like you are a good example of them. Instead of using it every time and then quickly getting bored of it, you should use it only now and then. My class is about to start, and I'm sure that you are going to have fun just by watching."
Ethan couldn't help but sigh. He really was weak against pushy people like Lyla, who doesn't take a no for an answer. Although he was quick to say some sharp remarks toward Natalia, he did it because he felt her actions were a bit forced, unlike Lyla, who seemed genuinely worried about making Ethan acquainted with other students.
"Come on, now," Lyla said, still with a smile on her face. "Don't sigh… I'm sure that you had a hard time in another world, and you didn't have many chances to interact with boys around your age, and it is time to make up for that lost time."
Ethan sighed once again while Lyla was dragging him to the room where she was supposed to give some lessons about whatever she teaches. He wanted to say to her that he met plenty of boys around his age in the other world, but that would only make things incredibly awkward since most of them died. Not everyone in a world of magic can use magic. Besides, those who aren't from noble families always start as soldiers on the frontlines… it isn't hard to imagine that the few friends that Ethan made in the other world met their ends in such situations. Regardless, it was better to deal with Lyla now instead of keeping ignoring the inevitable would only make things even more complicated later.
"Although I don't look like it, I'm a pretty good swordswoman," Lyla said. "Thanks to the technology we obtained in the last year, I was able to study and master a technique called Sword Dance. It was all thanks to the fact that time on the other world passed way faster than here."
"Sword dance?" Ethan frowned. "Isn't that dumb technique where you keep moving around trying to fool your enemy with unexpected moves but always end up showing you are exposed back?"
Lyla suddenly stopped walking, and her smile froze. It looked like Ethan had stepped on a landmine. That being said, he had no reason, nor did he want to apologize because he also saw and faced some sword dancers… most of them died while showing their backs to the enemies. Those who tried to fool Ethan ended up overwhelmed by his brute strength.
"Dumb technique?" Lyla asked, still smiling, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
