Chapter 13 Decision
As much as he wanted to obtain new skills, Ethan decided to obtain those resistance skills later. Right now, he needed to recover the feeling he had while holding his weapons. The hero class not only granted the power and knowledge of his enemies, but it also granted him their combat experience. Right now, Ethan needed that again, but he would have to regain that on the hard way.
pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ "Let's focus on clearing this stage without getting hit," Ethan said to himself. "This should be a surprisingly nice training, after all."
Ethan didn't drop his guard for a moment. After all, the slimes he knew could fire several other types of spells and use other abilities that could strengthen their bodies and even some area of effect spells. However, those which he was facing only shot simple magic projectiles.
"I wonder if I can activate my power by touching them," Ethan muttered to himself. "They are definitely made of mana, so it is possible, but… it might be dangerous to do that here."
If that run was being recorded, it would be unthinkable for Ethan to show that power. Regardless, he found something unexpected at the summoned heroes' school. In this place, he could level up, so there was no real reason to rush ahead without thinking. Ethan decided to just be happy in training Block and Evasion Mastery while he slowly leveled up.
Congratulations! You leveled up!
Your health, mana, and stamina have been completely recovered!
You received five status points.
You received two skill points.
In the end, even though the magic projectiles were relatively weak, Ethan managed to level up his Evasion and Block Mastery up to level three before himself reached the level two. Although it wasn't the best time to ponder about that since Ethan was surrounded by forty slimes and he still was at level one, he was forced to think about what he should do with his status points.
While he was fighting for the Hedo kingdom, he put all his points into strength, speed, and a bit in endurance. Thanks to that, he was able to singlehandedly defeat the whole demon army. However, that didn't help in controlling his power as hero.
"I don't think the magic path suits me," Ethan said and then jumped backward, avoiding several Fireballs and blocking several Water Balls. "Still, I can't ignore it either. It is not like by becoming even physically stronger than before, I will be able to control that power. Still, I don't think I have to worry about allocating all my points to several status. Eventually, I will find a way to control this damn power, and thus I will be able to obtain skills almost freely. That being said, just this once… I will stick with what already worked."

Ethan allocated all his points into strength. In the next moment, five slimes exploded. Most people would have missed what Ethan did, but he didn't do anything special, really. His attack doubled, and with the use of Bash, he could decimate slimes in the blink of an eye. That being said, he couldn't use that forever since he had to worry about stamina.
In any case, each point in STR and END would increase his health by five points. The first would increase his basic attack power, and the latter would decrease the damage he received from physical attacks by one point.
MAG would increase his magic power and mana by five points, and RES would increase his magic resistance by one point and mana by five. SPE and DEX would increase his movement and attack speed and his ability to notice and react to attacks. As well as increase his stamina by five points.
PHY, EVA and ACC were a bit special parameters since they didn't increase Ethan's health, mana, or stamina. Still, the first could improve the condition of his body, making him less susceptible for sickness or exhaustion. The second would make him make fine movements with more ease. The latter worked to improve his aim.
"Well, this shouldn't be a problem," Ethan shrugged. "I just have to level up again, and then my stamina will be full again."
Thanks to his increased strength, Ethan felt the sword on his right hand getting much lighter than before. So, he had the chance to stay on the offensive even more. Until now, he totally avoided the Earth Balls since they could damage his sword, but now he could block them completely fine with his sword's pommel.
After a single level-up, things got pretty easy. Two slashes were enough to make Ethan kill the slimes, and now that he could block all of them, he didn't have to tire himself out by moving so much. Although he lost his powers and all the knowledge obtained, his senses were still as sharp as ever. So, he could even dodge and block the projectiles with his eyes closed.
Ethan didn't know if that was good or bad. Still, considering that he managed to keep his sword from getting destroyed, he was satisfied with clearing that stage in just five minutes. Besides, he had progressed quite a bit in terms of skills and levels. Bash, Swordsmanship, and evasion Mastery and Block Mastery had leveled up. He also reached level four, so things were looking good.
Congratulations! You completed the first stage of the VR simulator!
You received 100 coins!
Calculating your score…
Flawless Victory + 1000 points.
Time + 500 points
Solo fight + 1000 points…
Congratulations! You scored 2500 points.
Do you wish to proceed to the next stage? Y/N
Before Ethan could choose to proceed, a new screen appeared, and it was a ranking, and his score on the first stage was the third. Apparently, he had to choose a name to put on the rank, he tried to ignore it and proceed to the next stage, but that didn't happen.
"People around here sure wants us to compete with each…" Ethan sighed. "These scores are meaningless, and I can't see their point. If at least we could gain something by trying really hard…"
It was a pain, but Ethan decided to just joke around anyway. Instead of putting his name, he wrote: I will be back. Laughing at his own silly jokes, Ethan checked the scores that were above him.
Super Awesome Hero – 2880 points
Beautiful Princess – 2879 points.
"Teenagers… I guess I'm no better than them," Ethan sighed. "Still, they will look at those names in a few years and almost die of cringeness."
