Dragon Tamer

Chapter 371: 373: Knowing When to Advance and Retreat

Chapter 371: Chapter 373: Knowing When to Advance and Retreat
The Ancient Ape Dragon stepped over the Earth Dragon and pursued the Wind Wolf Dragon.

Its terrifying arms swung, smashing all the small mountains surrounding it to pieces.

The Wind Wolf Dragon used its speed to dodge around the Ancient Ape Dragon, continually widening the distance from the ferocious beast in a boiling fury.

“Boom!!!!!”

The Ancient Ape Dragon leaped into the air, its extremely thick arms violently smashing down onto the ground.

The rock and gravel on the ground were impacted by the enormous force, forming a continuous barrier on the surface, blocking the escape route of the Wind Wolf Dragon.

This barrier allowed the Ancient Ape Dragon to catch up to the Wind Wolf Dragon, as the Ancient Ape Dragon, like an ancient god of strength, swung out its Rock Fist. The dense fur-covered giant ape’s fist was seething with boiling energy, rushing toward the Wind Wolf Dragon like a tide of rage.

The Wind Wolf Dragon was hit by this fiery punch and smashed against the rock barrier, the sound of shattering bones rang out, and blood spurted from its mouth.

The Ancient Ape Dragon did not relent; it picked up a thick rock next to it and furiously smashed it towards the Wind Wolf Dragon. The boulder was the size of a house, but in the face of the Ancient Ape Dragon’s mighty arm strength, it seemed as light as paper.

The Wind Wolf Dragon took a solid hit, its fangs shattered, and its wounds worsened, the bone in its shoulder clearly caved in.

“Kill it!”

Jiang Zhiyi conveyed this intention to his Ancient Ape Dragon.

The Ancient Ape Dragon became even more ferocious, its body releasing a boiling aura that transformed it entirely into a miniature volcano, radiating danger and the scent of death!

The Ancient Ape Dragon charged at the Wind Wolf Dragon, lifted it up, and started pulling it apart!

This brutal action of tearing the Wind Wolf Dragon in half caused shock and horror among the watching students.

“Swish!!!!”

Just as the Ancient Ape Dragon was about to use its waist to exert force, suddenly a dark sickle blade heavily stabbed into the back of its massive foot!

The claws like sharp sickles pierced through the back of the Ancient Ape Dragon’s foot and nailed it to the hard ground.

“Roar~~~~~~~~~”

The Ancient Ape Dragon roared in pain, looking down to find the unremarkable Sickle Dragon had launched an attack on its foot while it was distracted.

Meanwhile, the Wind Wolf Dragon, lifted above the Ancient Ape Dragon’s head, opened its mouth and spat a mouthful of sand at the face of the Ancient Ape Dragon!

The sand blasted into the eyes of the Ancient Ape Dragon, causing it to instinctively cover and rub them, allowing the Wind Wolf Dragon to escape the iron-like grasp of the Ancient Ape Dragon…

The Ancient Ape Dragon, enraged to the extreme, lifted its elbow’s Shield Sword Flesh Helmet and frantically chopped down at the small Sickle Dragon below.

The Sickle Dragon was in grave danger; it had to either withdraw its claw to dodge the deadly blow or continue to nail the Ancient Ape Dragon’s foot to the ground and be directly crushed into a pulp.

“Chop!”

Hong Hao yelled out.

The Sickle Dragon raised its other sickle-shaped claw and ferociously chopped down.

“Foolish!” scoffed Jiang Zhiyi.

The Sickle Dragon was only at a Sub-level, and only the sharpest part of its claw blade could pierce through the unprotected foot of the Ancient Ape Dragon.

Its chop could not inflict any damage to other parts of the Ancient Ape Dragon, and not fleeing at this moment was akin to seeking death!

“Swish!!!!”

The Sickle Dragon chopped, its blade cleanly slicing through, but its target was not the sturdy Ancient Ape Dragon, but its own limb!

With one claw severed, the half-sickle-shaped claw blade remained in the back of the Ancient Ape Dragon’s foot, and the Sickle Dragon rolled backward to escape, narrowly avoiding the Ancient Ape Dragon’s lethal strike!

Thick, inky blood spilled from the severed sickle claw, and upon encountering sunlight, it began to congeal with remarkable swiftness.

In just a few seconds, the blood had transformed into a black, waxy substance, entirely enveloping the paw of the Ancient Ape Dragon, while the chopped sickle blade claw grew as hard as fresh stone due to the congealed black blood.

“Roar! Roar! Roar!!!!!!!!”

The Ancient Ape Dragon, consumed by rage, bent down to try and pull out the nail-like sickle claw but soon found it to be impossible.

The black coagulated blood had hardened to the extreme; the only way for the Ancient Ape Dragon to remove it would be to smash it with immense brute force.

Yet, this would be no different than crushing its own paw to a pulp!

For a moment, the furiously violent Ancient Ape Dragon was nailed to the ground, struggling in vain to break free no matter what methods it used.

Seizing this perfect opportunity, Hong Hao immediately commanded the three dragons to launch an offensive on the movement-limited Ancient Ape Dragon.

The Earth Dragon charged fearlessly.

The Wind Wolf Dragon’s Shield Sword Flesh Helmet tore apart.

The Sickle Dragon, having lost one of its claws, kept appearing behind the Ancient Ape Dragon, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Soon, the Ancient Ape Dragon was covered with scars…

“Do you think you can win against me by playing these little tricks? Your dragons won’t escape unscathed either!” Jiang Zhiyi said, somewhat in a frustrated rage.

The Ancient Ape Dragon was still formidable.

It had a very thick flesh helmet, and neither the Earth Dragon’s Broken Rock Technique nor the Wind Wolf Dragon’s Turbulent Wind Whip Drive could cause any substantive harm to it.

Both the Earth Dragon and the Wind Wolf Dragon needed to get close, using their own rock spikes, charges, claws, and fangs in order to truly injure the Ancient Ape Dragon.

But in doing so, they would also be heavily damaged by it.

“I never intended to win. As long as I can make you suffer, that’s enough!” Hong Hao snorted coldly.

Fighting to mutual destruction was Hong Hao’s true aim.

He wasn’t a fool; how could he not see that the opponent’s power was far above his own?

In such a situation, being able to exhaust a fierce Ancient Ape Dragon to death, Hong Hao was already more than satisfied.

Hong Hao’s tactics were very successful, and only when the three dragons were exhausted, bleeding incessantly, did he call them all back into his Spirit Realm.

The Ancient Ape Dragon finally managed to pull its paw free, yet it was a mangled mess—rejoining the battle would be very difficult.

“I concede, next competitor,” Hong Hao said decisively to the Dean Sun Chong.

Sun Chong had an unsightly expression.

He glared fiercely at Jiang Zhiyi.

Jiang Zhiyi was equally infuriated; he didn’t want it to end this way.

But Hong Hao had no desire to cling to the fight, having just exhibited a do-or-die spirit, he saw that the Ancient Ape Dragon had also been worn down to the point of having no fighting power, so he decisively left the arena!

“Very well, to be able to gauge when to advance or retreat in the face of a formidable enemy,” Dean Duan Changqing was very satisfied with this match.

To wear down a strong Ancient Ape Dragon with three dragons of inferior cultivation base, considering Hong Hao’s current cultivation base and strength, was already remarkable!

“One must never take any opponent lightly.” Han Wen spoke, clearly not very satisfied with Jiang Zhiyi’s performance.

“Inspector, I acknowledge my mistake. I will show my true capabilities,” Jiang Zhiyi said, bowing in respect, adopting an outward appearance of humility and sense, but inwardly seething with extreme frustration and anger!
