Chapter 59 59: Into The Dark Night! Prowler!
Zell sat at the wooden table in the dining room. His long black hair cascaded down his shoulders as he leaned back in his chair. His red eyes were fatigued due to the recent upgrade to his powers. He had been working tirelessly to master his abilities, which had taken a toll on him.
He woke up after a few minutes of a nap; the silver cat was to blame as she moved her fat body and knocked his cheek with her butt in revenge.
Sitting there, he felt something soft and warm curl up against his shoulder. He turned his head to see a cute silver tabby with a fat tummy snuggled up against him, purring contentedly. Zell couldn't help but smile at the sight. He had always been a cat person, and these two feline friends were a constant joy.
As if on cue, another cat appeared, a pretty golden tabby with a fat tail currently stroking Zell's legs. The boy couldn't help but laugh at the affectionate gesture. These two cats had always supported and supported him and cheered him on. And today was no different.
Despite his fatigue, Zell couldn't resist petting his feline companions. He reached out and scratched the silver tabby behind the ears—his ears filled with the satisfying purr from the cat. The golden tabby nudged her head against Zell's hand, clearly wanting some attention. Zell obligingly scratched her head, a warm feeling of contentment settling over him.
"I'm a little...."
Before he knew it, Zell had fallen asleep, his head resting on the wooden table as the cats curled around him. He slept peacefully, his dreams filled with the warmth and comfort of his two feline friends.
[Rest...Well.....Zell...] (Yanfra)
[I hope you don't have nightmares....] (Yinfra)
When he woke up, he was surprised to find that it was nearly evening. He had slept for hours, the cats snoozing contentedly alongside him. Sitting up and stretched, he realised just how hungry he was. He made a cooked fish dish for his two cats to thank them for their support and for waking him up.
He quickly set about preparing the meal for the cats. His movements were practised and efficient as the flames never burnt the fish or garlic butter he used to fry the salmon and trout. These fish were chosen by the cats themselves with their paws when he offered each type to them.
The cats watched him with interest, with tails swaying on the counter. Their eyes followed his every move as he chopped vegetables and seasoned the fish. As the aroma of the cooked food filled the room, both girls' stomachs began to rumble, clearly anticipating the delicious meal to come.
Finally, the dish was ready. Zell placed it on the table, grinning as the cats eagerly gathered around, their noses twitching with excitement. He watched with pleasure as they devoured the food, their purrs of contentment filling the room.
[Dinner~ dinner~ nyao nyao nyau~] (Yanfra singing a strange song in meows)
[I want the fish~ Give me the fish~ No fish for golden fat cat~] (Yinfra seemed more normal)
He sat there, surrounded by his two feline companions and the warmth of a home-cooked meal; Zell couldn't help but feel grateful. These two cats had brought so much joy and comfort into his life, and he knew that he would always be thankful to them for their unwavering support.
'These two cats are beautiful; I hope they can be with me forever. No matter what hardships I must go through….'
[…]
[…]
Neither of the cats spoke either their cheeky words or soft embarrassing words. None of these three people could forget the horror's to come. Yanfra the most depressed, the number of times she watched helplessly as this cute boy died.
[Please keep him safe!] (Yanfra)
[I hope he is safe!] (Yinfra)
No matter what she tried, this was the only future where he wouldn't die. She didn't know that for sure, as this thread of fate became blurred the day he was reborn.
[Please, if there is an existence beyond us, the fake divine. I pray to you to protect this boy in this single life, even if I should lose my divinity and start from a mere lynx again! Let him at least have a chance to continue!] (Yanfra)
A clap of distant thunder rumbled as the patter of rain sounded on the windows with a melodic tune. Zell looked towards the window as darkness spread; usually, it filled him with wonder and awe.
"The moon looks beautiful tonight!"
His black heart began to throb inside his chest, and he desired something. He couldn't know, but it whispered gently into his ears. 'Go forth, kill the lesser demons, devour them and become a god!'
As the evening drew close and the cats settled down for the night, Zell knew he would always treasure these special moments with his furry friends.
One supported him since he returned to this world once again, and the other he could feel must have a hand in this entire situation. She always seemed to know the future, and he wondered if this cat may be a goddess of time or prophecy.
"Ugh, girls can you go sleep for now? Or protect others. I know you are full from eating. How about you work hard to protect the house, and I'll feed you more fish?"
Zell left the mansion with slow steps, filled with caution. He asked the cute cats to protect the women who lived there. 'I can rest easy with her guarding them.' he knew they would be safe with the feline guardians.
[Hehe! Stop, I'll blush!] (yanfra)
[Hmph! I am a fantastic goddess. Praise me!]
Dressed in a black coat with a large hood that covered his face, Zell set out into the night. Under the skin, a black steel armour made with scales began to grow from his flesh. It looked eerie but beautiful simultaneously, with countless shimmering scales and black steel plates entwined perfectly.
His mouth was also covered now. Nobody could tell who this was under the coat. He grinned with long sharp, steel teeth like a steel wolf. He was a formidable sight, ready to take on any danger that came his way.
"The axe and sword are too big; let's go for something from one of my favourite games about assassins or that guy from deadly combat with forearm blades!"
Zell was ready for battle and knew these weapons would serve him well. Two daggers grew from his forearms, their serrated edges gleaming with two gems. One was a deep blue, like ice, while the other was a vibrant crimson.
"Let's go hunt some demon whelps!" he declared, his voice filled with determination.
Before he left the mansion's area, he looked back and whispered to the wind. To the woman he loved. "I love you, Anya. Wait for me in the safe room; please trust your future husband!" he said before turning and heading out into the night.
[I am your wife!] (Yanfra)
[This goddess shall allow you to take a few human wives! Remember this kind feline goddess for you!] (Yinfra)
He had activated the lockdown on the basement game room, ensuring that it would be safe for Anya and the other women while he was away. The VR units would also delay their time, making it feel like time was moving slower inside. It was a perk of the most expensive unit, created by the gods themselves, that would keep the women safe.
Zell's eyes glowed a blood-red colour as he walked, a sign of the power that flowed through his veins. He didn't understand why this was happening, but right now, he looked like a demon, with a black sclera and curved goat horns on his temples. The night also affected his bloodlines; he knew he was now a fearsome incubus, ready to take on any foes coming his way.
'I want to sleep with women… Anya… Why are you not here!'
"Fuck, these impulses are too strong… Hey, I wonder if the system cat Infra can help me?"
[I can't help some perverted demon in heat. How about you drill a hole in a female toilet stall and wait with it popped through the hole?]
With a fierce determination, Zell set out into the night, ready to hunt down any demon whelps that threatened his loved ones. He knew that he would do whatever it took to keep them safe, no matter the cost.
As Zell walked through the night, the armour that covered his body seemed to grow and shift, almost as if it were a part of him. It moved with him, adjusting to his every movement and contouring to his form.
He could feel the armour's power coursing through his veins, boosting his strength and agility. He knew that it would serve him well in the battles to come, protecting him from any dangers that might come his way.
The black steel guard that covered his mouth was equally as formidable, its long sharp steel teeth glinting in the moonlight. Zell knew it would be a powerful weapon, allowing him to take on even the strongest foes.
The two daggers that grew from his forearms were equally as powerful, their serrated edges gleaming with two gems. One was a deep blue, like ice, while the other was a vibrant crimson.
Zell knew these weapons would serve him well in the battles to come, and he was ready to use them to protect those he loved. With a fierce determination. He set out into the night, his armour and weapons ready. He knew he would do whatever it took to protect those he loved, no matter the cost.
"This city feels so eerie at night… I wonder how many years I've lived here and never gotten used to it."
The moon rose high in the sky; the metropolis fell quiet, its bustling streets now empty as the people slept. The only sound was the soft rustle of the leaves in the trees and the occasional chirping of crickets.
The city was beautiful at night, with the moon casting a soft glow over the buildings and streets. The skyscrapers seemed to stretch into the sky, their windows reflecting the moon's light like a thousand shining stars.
In the distance, the grand palace could be seen, its ornate architecture and gold-gilded spires standing out against the dark sky. The city was a hub of commerce and culture, and even in the quiet of the night, it seemed to pulse with energy.
"I can sense them…. A demon, something the same as me, is close!"
His voice changed after transforming, now husky and demonic since he reached the fourth stage. Zell would not submit, though, he chose to accept the changes, but he was the master. Not his urges for slaughter.
