Douluo Dalu 3: The Legend of the Dragon King

Chapter 1934: Reinforcements

Chapter 1934: Reinforcements

Only after listening to his sister's report did Dai Yueyan truly come to understand just how desperate and serious the situation was. They were naturally well aware of how formidable the Douluo Federation's military might was, and never did they think that the Douluo Federation's mighty military and so many powerful beings would be unable to last even half a month against the abyssal army.

Not only was this not a cause for schadenfreude for Dai Yueyan, he was deeply concerned. If the Douluo Federation were being crushed this quickly, how long would the Star Luo Empire be able to last if the abyssal army were to advance onto their soil?

However, they were simply too far away from the site of the action, so there was nothing they could do.

"What do we do, Brother? Wulin can't hold on much longer; he was already almost killed earlier. Brother, we have to do something!"

Dai Yun'er swung Dai Yueyan's arm vigorously as she spoke in a clear display of urgency.

A wry smile appeared on Dai Yueyan's face. "I'm afraid there's nothing we can do, Yun'er. We still have a very long way to go; we can't just teleport the entire fleet to the battlefield! You..."

All of a sudden, his words cut off, and he cast his gaze out the window as an alarmed look appeared on his face.

Dai Yun'er also turned toward the same direction upon seeing his expression.

Directly ahead of them on the surface of the sea not far away, a layer of green light had risen up, and a giant humanoid projection was taking shape.

This appeared to be a projection of a woman holding what seemed to be a tree branch, which was being waved gently toward their fleet.

"Are we being attacked? Prepare for battle!" Dai Yueyan quickly ordered.

A piercing siren instantly rang out across the entire fleet, but the branch merely released a vast expanse of green light toward the fleet.

The green light formed a gigantic light barrier that encompassed their entire fleet, and immediately thereafter, everything in the surrounding area blurred while the ships began to tremor violently.

The entire world seemed to be flashing past outside the light barrier, but in the next instant, the green light vanished, and everything seemed to have returned to normal.

Meanwhile, the entire fleet was still quickly preparing for battle, and all weapons were ready to fire at any moment.

"What just happened?" Dai Yun'er asked.

Dai Yueyan was at a complete loss as well. "I'm not sure. It seems that the green light wasn't meant to attack us, but something seems off."

"R, report! Your Highness, for some reason, our satellite signals suggest that we're in the Arctic Ocean of the Douluo Continent, very close to the continent's northernmost region. I can only assume that our positioning devices must've malfunctioned."

Dai Yueyan and Dai Yun'er immediately turned to one another with astonished expressions, and the latter murmured, "What did you say just now?"

Dai Yueyan hesitated momentarily before replying, "Teleportation? Surely not..."

Right at this moment, incessant rumbling rang out in the distance, and even the sea was trembling.

At the same time, another burst of green light appeared not far ahead of the Star Luo fleet, and another fleet that was around half their size appeared out of thin air. Judging from the symbols on the fleet's ships, this fleet belonged to the Dou Spirit Continent!

Could it be that they really had teleported?

In the northernmost region of the continent.

Tang Wulin's eyes were glowing with a fierce light, and nine-colored light was shimmering incessantly around his body.

He was naturally keeping tabs on the rest of the battlefield, and Zheng Yiran's self-detonation had also struck a sense of grief into his heart.

Far too many people had already perished in this battle, and many of them were his friends, companions, and seniors.

This battle was like a moving slaughterhouse that was producing more deaths by the second.

Meanwhile, the Holy Lord stood before him like an insurmountable wall.

All he could do now was just barely hold on with the support of the tree of life, preventing the Holy Lord from being able to target others, but that was the extent of his capabilities.

Every time Heavenly Saint Abyssal Rift clashed with the Sea God's Trident, an enormous eruption of energy would take place. Due to the power disparity, Tang Wulin was only just barely able to withstand the Holy Lord's attacks, but wounds were constantly being inflicted onto his body.

The Holy Lord's fury seemed to have gradually subsided.

He was naturally also able to see the current situation on the battlefield, and even though the human army was just barely able to hold its own in terms of top-tier power, the abyssal army was simply too massive overall for the human army to contend with.

Once all of the defensive lines were overwhelmed, everything that Tang Wulin was doing would ultimately be futile.

Furthermore, the Holy Lord could clearly sense that the aura of the massive tree of life projection in the distance was constantly on the wane. It was expending a lot of energy to support Tang Wulin, and it was only a matter of time before victory was secured, so the Holy Lord's patience had returned.

He had already waited over 6,000 years, he could certainly wait a bit longer.

The most important thing was to not give the opponent an opportunity to turn the tables. The Rainbow Lotus Flames that Tang Wulin had unveiled had given the Holy Lord quite a nasty shock, particularly its ability to scorch even divine sense.

Thus, he was currently only focusing on inflicting wounds on Tang Wulin but was refraining from taking any risks. At the same time, he was keeping tabs on the situation unfolding on the battlefield.

Many of the powerful beings of the human army were already beginning to self-detonate like Zheng Yiran had done, but it was all ultimately going to be pointless.

Following their demise, the abyssal creatures would simply be resurrected in the abyss, and without the twin dragon spears to devour their energy, they would be able to return to the battlefield over and over again.

Unless more people possessed the ability to contaminate even abyssal energy like Zheng Yiran, it would only be a matter of time before the human army was completely overwhelmed.

Right at this moment, a string of rumbling booms suddenly rang out without any warning, and streaks of dazzling light shot forth from the distance before landing on the battlefield.

To put it more accurately, they had all landed amidst the abyssal army.

A series of violent explosions erupted as storms of energy and shrapnel wreaked havoc among the abyssal army, felling countless abyssal creatures and creating an enormous cloud of dense abyssal energy.

Even the human army was quite startled by this sudden turn of events, let alone the abyssal army. No one had any idea where the attacks had come from.

The Holy Lord faltered slightly upon seeing this, and Tang Wulin immediately took advantage of his brief lapse in concentration, sending his Golden Dragon Spear flying into the epicenter of the explosion in the blink of an eye.

The Holy Lord was furious to see this, and he immediately sent Tang Wulin flying with a swipe of his Heavenly Saint Abyssal Rift. He then cast his gaze toward the direction where the attacks had come from, upon which he discovered that a huge fleet of ships had somehow appeared on the surface of the sea.

Through the satellite images, the people of the Douluo Federation had already caught sight of these ships right away.

They also had no idea where these ships had come from as the vast majority of them didn't recognize the flags of the two neighboring empires, but it was clear that these were reinforcements for the human army, and raucous cheers instantly rang out across the entire Douluo Federation with the exception of one place: the parliament building.
