Chapter 19
C19 – Punishment
“Kui, are you alright?”
Quickly, Loong Chen examined Loong Kui’s condition. Thankfully, she had escaped injury.
“Brother, you’re still alive. This is wonderful!”
Loong Kui embraced Loong Chen, her sense of despair lifting upon hearing he was alive.
If her sole family member in this world perished, what reason would she have to continue living?
Loong Chen gently patted Loong Kui’s back.
“Don’t worry. I’ll thrive. I won’t let harm befall you again.”
In this moment, Loong Chen’s eyes gleamed with an icy intensity. His gaze fixated coldly on the fallen Mo Fann.
Meeting Loong Chen’s gaze, Mo Fann involuntarily trembled.
“Someone, come!”
Mo Fann’s shout echoed, but no one responded.
Loong Chen had long since vanquished Mo Fann’s bodyguards.
Rising to his feet, Loong Chen advanced towards Mo Fann.
“Mo Fann, you sought to eliminate me first, and now you target my sister. You’ve truly incensed me.”
“Loong Chen, I belong to the Mo family. Should you dare to take my life, the Mo family won’t let you off, nor will they spare your sister!”
Terrified, Mo Fann’s voice quavered. Yet, to preserve his life, he had to unveil his affiliation.
“Fear not, I won’t kill you.”
Loong Chen’s words carried a fierce grin.
Mo Fann breathed a sigh of relief, convinced Loong Chen’s aversion to killing stemmed from dread of the Mo family’s influence.
“Loong Chen, it’s good you know your place. I’ll disregard your attack on me. You should depart now.”
Mo Fann’s words prompted a nearly incredulous urge to laugh from Loong Chen. Was Mo Fann truly so simple or was he feigning it?
Loong Chen said nothing more, merely pointing at Mo Fann. In an instant, before Mo Fann could anticipate his intent, searing pain shot through his lower body.
An Earth Spike suddenly emerged from the ground, piercing through his groin, causing blood to immediately stain the earth.
Mo Fann let out a heart-wrenching scream. Clutching his crotch, his body writhed in agony.
“I’ll make you taste the flavor of pain.”
Loong Chen stepped onto Mo Fann’s limbs once more. The sound of breaking bones resonated, accompanied by Mo Fann’s pitiful cries.
Perhaps unable to endure such torment, after Loong Chen snapped Mo Fann’s final hand, the latter lost consciousness.
“Kui, let’s go.”
Holding Loong Kui’s hand, Loong Chen was preparing to leave. Yet, upon reaching the exit, his gaze fell on Lin Qian huddled there.
Her expression was one of sheer terror, especially when her eyes met Loong Chen’s.
“Don’t kill me; I was coerced.”
Lin Qian hastened to speak.
Aware that the present Loong Chen was no longer the former weakling, she realized her life was hanging in the balance.
“Lin Qian, if you had only targeted me, it might have been forgivable. But you extended your harm to my sister. Were it not for our past connection, I would have ended you,” Loong Chen’s voice was frigid.
“Brother Chen, Mo Fann compelled me to do all of this. The truth is, I still have feelings for you. Could we start anew?”
Lin Qian clung to Loong Chen’s leg, pleading.
As Loong Chen gazed at the woman he once truly cared for, her countenance evoked a strong sense of disgust.
She was willing to say anything just to survive.
Loong Chen’s hand slapped across Lin Qian’s face. The force behind it was only a fraction of his strength, yet it was enough to swell her right cheek.
“It’s rather comical how you still recall our past connection. But you’re fortunate; I don’t wish to kill before my sister’s eyes.”
Loong Chen scoffed, then pulled Loong Kui along as they departed from Dihao Bar.
Seated on the ground, Lin Qian touched her swollen cheek. Her eyes were vacant, and she muttered to herself.
“Could it truly be my fault?”
