Divine Monster Pet Evolution System

Chapter 7

C7 – Wind Wings

Shortly after Chen Wu descended the mountain, he was greeted by the system’s alert: “High-level mission completed. Reward — High-level Treasure Weapon [Wind Wings]!”

A Treasure Weapon is an exceptionally unique item. A Demonic Pet Master can use a Contract Spiritual Talisman to open the Demonic Pet Space, while a Demonic Pet can employ an additional Treasure Weapon to unlock its own exclusive space.

However, the space opened by a Demonic Pet is known as the ‘Enhancement Space’, and a maximum of three such spaces can be created.

Storing a Treasure Weapon in an Enhancement Space not only leaves the Demonic Pet unaffected but can also provide significant boosts to the Demonic Pet depending on the level and quality of the Treasure Weapon.

Typically, Treasure Weapons are categorized as low-level, intermediate-level, high-level, and peak-level.

A low-level Treasure Weapon can enhance a Demonic Pet’s speed by ten to thirty percent, an intermediate-level by forty to sixty percent, and a high-level by seventy to ninety percent. As for a Peak-level Treasure Weapon, it provides a full 100% enhancement!

Treasure Weapons are exclusively for use with Demonic Pets below the Silver Level.

[Wind Wings]: A High-level Treasure Weapon of the Wind-type, suitable for Wind-type Demonic Pets, granting a seventy percent speed boost. It also comes with the Treasure Weapon skill ‘Storm’, which automatically generates a storm zone during battle, imposing a ten percent speed reduction on opponents other than the Demonic Pet.

Upon reviewing the details of the High-level Treasure Weapon, Chen Wu was astounded!

It was indeed a High-level Treasure Weapon!

A seventy percent enhancement to speed – that’s like boosting the speed by a whopping seventy percent!

If Blood Rain were to carry it, its speed would significantly increase, allowing it to exhibit combat power on par with a Bronze Grade 3, despite being only at Grade 2!

Chen Wu was ecstatic; this was an unexpected windfall!

Without a moment’s delay, Chen Wu retrieved the item. It was a palm-sized, feather-shaped metallic device pulsating with astonishing energy.

“Blood Rain, draw near with your consciousness and take it into your Treasure Weapon Space!”

Blood Rain gazed at the Treasure Weapon with curiosity. In an instant, the Wind Wings transformed into a streak of light and vanished into Blood Rain’s body. Chen Wu could immediately sense an additional miniature space forming at the other end of their contract – Blood Rain’s very own Treasure Weapon Space!

Blood Rain’s spirit soared, its wings beating with excitement.

“How are you feeling, Blood Rain?”

With a more potent aura, Blood Rain excitedly took to the skies, its speed surpassing its previous limits. It darted through the air, stirring up a fierce storm that whipped up sand and wind, causing Chen Wu to squint with delight. Indeed, Blood Rain’s strength had surged by 70%, now nearly rivaling that of a Bronze Grade 3.

Now, Chen Wu felt better equipped to confront Hu Wang!

This was Chen Wu’s first encounter with a Treasure Weapon. Regardless of its level, such an item was exceedingly precious. In a small place like Green-mount Town, it was a rarity for a Demonic Pet Master to possess a Treasure Weapon. Rumor had it that even a Low-level Treasure Weapon could fetch hundreds of Spiritual Stones.

Chen Wu had struck it rich. Despite parting with a Healing Pill, he had acquired a High-level Treasure Weapon, and the two were not even in the same league in terms of value. He had made a fortune, and what could be more crucial than bolstering Blood Rain’s power?

“I won’t let Hu Wang off the hook. Since he’s stolen from me, he’ll likely want to eliminate me to prevent any retribution from the powers in Flame City. The moment I make a public appearance, I’ll probably be confronting him. Even though Blood Rain now possesses the power to contend with a Grade 3, I fear I haven’t even reached the status of a Grade 1 Demonic Pet Master!”

Chen Wu was already struggling to maintain his spiritual connection with Blood Rain, feeling as tense as a tightly stretched wire. The disparity between his Spiritual Energy and Blood Rain’s strength was vast. Should Blood Rain ascend to Bronze Level Grade 3, their spiritual link might snap instantly, leading to dire consequences.

Thus, Chen Wu’s priority was to find a way to enhance his Spiritual Energy.

He secured Blood Rain into the Demonic Pet Space and pressed on with his journey.

As evening fell, Chen Wu arrived at a quaint village. The setting sun painted the sky as a flock of small Spiritual Vultures glided across the horizon. The rising smoke from cooking fires added to the serene atmosphere, creating a sense of peaceful isolation from the outside world.

This was Chen Village, the place Chen Wu called home. It was named after the predominant surname of its residents, Wu. It’s likely that, many years ago, the villagers were all part of the same small family clan which, over time, had dwindled and branched out to form the community as it is today.

For Chen Wu, the most important and only family he knew was the Elder Village Head.

Elder Village Head, Chen Fengqing, had been a renowned hunter in his youth. Unfortunately, he lost a leg to a Demonic Beast in an accident, leaving him disabled. Despite this, he remained benevolent and respected throughout the years. Although he never married or had children, Chen Wu always saw him as a grandfather figure, as the Elder Village Head had taken him in and raised him as his own.

Chen Wu was aware that his biological parents had been illustrious Demonic Pet Masters, renowned throughout the neighboring villages. Sadly, they disappeared on an adventure and never returned, entrusting the young Chen Wu to the care of the Elder Village Head.

After exchanging pleasantries with the familiar faces of the village, Chen Wu made his way back to the old family estate, the home of the Village Head.

There, the Elder Village Head sat dozing at the doorstep, leaning on his crutch – a common sight among the elderly.

Gazing at the old man’s tranquil face, Chen Wu’s heart swelled with emotion and a deep sense of kinship. He was grateful to the man who had raised him, especially since there had been moments when he feared he might never see him again.

Chen Wu left the old man undisturbed, understanding his own nature as a restless soul. He frequently joined the hunters on excursions into the mountains to gather herbs to sell, both to support the household and to learn the hunters’ skills. The Elder Village Head wholeheartedly approved of his endeavors. It was not unusual for Chen Wu to be away from home for days at a time.

Upon returning to his room, Chen Wu couldn’t wait to sit cross-legged on the floor, eagerly taking out the Soul Sense Stone to fully embrace the vast and enigmatic Eternal Nirvana Lotus Technique.

Chen Wu was soon overwhelmed by the boundless knowledge and the intricacies of the technique. Despite being contained within a low-grade Soul Sense Stone, he could tell that the Eternal Nirvana Lotus Technique’s significance was on par with the intermediate and even high-grade secret arts treasured by prestigious families.

For a Demonic Pet Master, this technique was a crucial cornerstone for future spiritual development. The higher the level of foundational secrets mastered, the stronger and more quickly one could condense and absorb spiritual energy.

The Eternal Nirvana Lotus Technique unfolded across seven stages: Lotus Seed, Lotus Sprout, Young, Lotus Platform, Soul Lotus, Eternal, and Nirvana, each with its unique abilities.

The initial Lotus Seed stage was a pivotal breakthrough for an Everyman to become a Demonic Pet Master, reaching the Spiritual Mist Stage. By practicing this technique, one could forge a spiritual Lotus Seed, doubling the strength of one’s spiritual energy and increasing the Soul Sense capacity by at least one-third compared to a Grade 1 Demonic Pet Master. Such an advancement was astonishing, rivaling even the most advanced spirit cultivation techniques.

Chen Wu was immensely pleased. Products from the System were assuredly top-notch, and the secret technique he received at the start was extraordinary indeed.

With concerted effort, Chen Wu calmed his breath and optimized his state before beginning to channel his Spiritual Energy as the mantra dictated.

Though he had not yet officially entered the Spiritual Mist Stage, he could perceive his ethereal spiritual energy and guide it through his mind. Soon, a peculiar sensation enveloped him, as if myriad points of light from the universe were willingly converging within his body.

Having already formed a contract with a Demonic Pet, Chen Wu’s spiritual energy coalesced rapidly. In under four hours, a misty haze had materialized in his mind. With a whispered “condense,” all his Spiritual Energy transformed into a radiant golden point, anchoring itself at the heart of his tumultuous consciousness, casting a uniquely splendid glow.

The Lotus Seed had successfully condensed!

This marked Chen Wu’s official ascension to a Grade 1 Demonic Pet Master. In that instant, his spiritual bond with Blood Rain intensified, allowing him to distinctly sense an emptiness within himself—a void designated as the Demonic Pet Space for his inaugural Demonic Pet.

The whole endeavor could be likened to everything falling perfectly into place!
