Divine Mastering Dragon System

Chapter 15

C15 – Two Huge Fortunes

The wind was fierce.

Perched atop Alyssa’s back, Choo Qin was filled with a rush of exhilaration. Soaring on the back of a mighty dragon rivaled the devout passion boys held for their Mechas.

Choo Qin had truly become a Dragon Magician.

Alyssa unfurled her wings, emitting a triumphant cry that sent shivers through the Devil Beasts lurking in the emerald forest. Their dominance, a sheer force of life, compelled the Devil Beasts to bow their heads in submission.

“To the left, it must be that way.”

“Let’s descend straight away.”

Using his probing spell, Choo Qin quickly pinpointed the Azure Tomb Stronghold.

Having obliterated the Mountain Bandits in a flash, the stronghold’s remaining inhabitants were oblivious to their force’s total destruction.

Choo Qin breathed a sigh of relief. Had those left behind fled with the gold and silver, it would have been a significant loss for him.

Yet another round of overwhelming defeat ensued.

The Azure Tomb Stronghold was indeed wealthy, perhaps owing to its leader being an Ice Type Mage, amassing a fortune of thirty to forty thousand gold coins.

In the Mountain Bandit leader’s chamber, Choo Qin found several Devil Stones meant for cultivation, though they were now useless to him.

“Could it be… a tomb?”

While scouring the area, Choo Qin kept a watchful eye on the hidden chamber, mindful of the secret rooms filled with treasures often depicted in novels and TV shows.

To his surprise, his search unveiled a shadowy passage leading to a vast tomb within the mountain.

The damp chill and his affinity for Ice Type spells led Choo Qin to surmise that this was the resting place of an Ice Type Mage.

The Xiong family’s rise to magic must be connected to this site!

Perhaps he could uncover some legacy here!

Indeed, as he progressed down the tunnel, the icy chill intensified, casting an eerie pall.

Murals adorned the walls, surrounded by an array of bizarre offerings, with an even stranger altar at the core.

“Thud… Thud…”

The abrupt sounds echoing around him gave Choo Qin quite the scare. Yet, as his gaze settled on the altar, he saw an apparition.

The spectral image was that of a peculiar old man cloaked in a robe, his hollow gaze fixated on Choo Qin, making him wonder if he had stumbled onto the wrong movie set.

“Is this… your grave?”

The old man didn’t respond to Choo Qin, just kept his gaze fixed on him.

“Sorry to disturb you. Please, carry on.” Choo Qin’s unease grew, and he stepped back, intending to leave. He had a hunch that this elder was trouble.

“Boy, you carry the essence of ice.” At last, the apparition spoke.

“Uh, yes, a bit.”

The apparition scrutinized Choo Qin, as if trying to see right through him.

But to no avail.

He couldn’t understand him at all.

He had been waiting here for a long time. Apart from encountering a member of the Xiong family with modest talent, the strongest ice aura he’d sensed was from the young man before him.

“Never mind, I’ll just have a look for myself.”

The apparition shook its head and transformed into a stream of green smoke, swiftly enveloping Choo Qin.

Choo Qin jumped in fright. Was this the fabled grandfather figure?

Was he about to gain another miraculous advantage?

But the events that followed were beyond his wildest dreams.

He looked at the Upgrade System’s interface with a whirlwind of emotions.

“Ding! You’ve been startled. Experience Point +1142…”

“Ding! Your body is being probed by a soul. Experience Point +11345…”

“Ding! You are undergoing possession. Experience Point +24555…”

“Ding! Possession failed. You’ve absorbed the soul of a three-ringed Magic Saint. Experience Point +79332111…”

“Ding! You’re utterly bewildered. Experience Point +141…”

Choo Qin had indeed viewed the old man as a potential boon.

In the world of adventure tales, a tomb in a cave meant treasure or a powerful guardian.

But what he encountered was an attempt at possession.

Sadly for the so-called “three-ringed Magic Saint,” luck wasn’t on his side; the Upgrade System treated him like garbage and absorbed him.

This granted Choo Qin a surge of Experience Points.

The entire episode lasted no more than five minutes. Had he not been in the chilling confines of the graveyard, it might have felt unreal.

On closer inspection, he found more materials and treasures, including a substantial cache of Devil Stones.

After a thorough search.

He had inexplicably stumbled upon another fortune.
