Chapter 25
C25 – Wang Shan Went to the Lotus Academy
The mysterious intruder who had entered the Wang family estate was none other than Wang Shan himself!
Wang Shan was set to depart from Twilight Cloud Town the following day. Regrettably, despite the years that had passed, he had never sparred with Wang Tianxia and was unaware of his father’s true strength.
That’s why Wang Shan donned the guise of a man in black that night, intent on gauging Wang Tianxia’s abilities.
Wang Tianxia, a newly minted Three-star Cultivator, executed each move with domineering force.
“Whirlwind Palm,” he declared, unleashing the Earth Rank Wind Condensing Arts technique that Wang Shan had taught him.
A single execution of Whirlwind Palm was enough to pulverize a stone column in the great hall.
“Such incredible speed, swift as lightning itself. Even my quickest strikes are effortlessly evaded,” Wang Tianxia thought, his forehead beaded with sweat. As a new Three-star Cultivator, he had not expected to face a man in black so soon!
Round after round, Wang Tianxia found himself outmatched.
His repeated palm strikes were all deftly avoided by the man in black!
“The man in black breathes with the steady calm of youth. To possess such advanced mastery of the Thunder Condensing Arts at his age, and to best me with merely the Thunderclap Movement Technique,” he mused.
Wang Tianxia ceased his assault and demanded, “Who are you? What brings you to the Wang family under the cover of night?”
The man in black was, in fact, Wang Shan in disguise. Revealing his voice would give away his identity.
Yet, from their brief encounter, Wang Shan had already ascertained that Wang Tianxia was no match for him.
With the outcome clear, Wang Shan wasted no further words. He employed the Thunderclap Movement Technique, becoming a streak of purple lightning, and vanished from the Wang family hall in an instant.
Wang Tianxia, after ensuring the man in black had truly departed, finally relaxed. To think such a formidable expert resided in Twilight Cloud Town!
“I must continue my training and aim to reach the level of a Four-star Cultivator as soon as possible,” he resolved.
The night’s confrontation had been a significant blow to Wang Tianxia.
Should he discover that his vanquisher was none other than Wang Shan, his reaction would likely be one of anger.
Come morning, Wang Shan made his way to the hall to bid his father, Wang Tianxia, farewell.
“Are you planning to bring them along to Lotus Academy?” Wang Tianxia inquired.
At that moment, Wang Shan was standing with the five girls behind him. He wrapped his arms around them and said cheerfully, “These five have always been by my side. They’d feel out of sorts if we were to part ways.”
Wang Tianxia chuckled in response, “That’s the spirit. The trip to Lotus Academy is a lengthy one. Knowing they’ll be there to look after you gives me peace of mind.”
After all, Wang Shan was off to attend school.
As Wang Shan boarded the carriage and departed, Wang Tianxia watched with a proud smile. “You’re truly bringing glory to the Wang family this time. The whole world knows you’re heading to Lotus Academy! It’s a prestigious institution with only ten openings nationwide!”
What Wang Tianxia didn’t realize was that Wang Shan, seated in the carriage, had vanished into thin air!
Wang Shan reappeared at the summit of the Nine-level Tower.
“Why have you transported me here through space?” Wang Shan asked the white cat perched on the square wooden table.
“I’m aware you’ll be traveling to Cloud Thunder Country soon, and I’d like my offspring to experience the wider world,” the white cat replied calmly.
Then, a small brown-and-yellow-patterned kitten was gently placed in Wang Shan’s hands.
“I have no need for an ordinary pet unless it’s exceptionally strong.”
“In time, you’ll understand its value,” the white cat said, smiling.
Subsequently, Wang Shan found himself forcibly returned to the carriage by the white cat.
