Chapter 51: Terrorist
Chapter 51: Terrorist
"Feng… Uncle will be alright… Don't worry too much…" Wang Yufei holds his hand tight as she accompanied Zhang Qin Feng back to where he used to work.
The building now looked nothing like before.
Right now, his uncle is still lying on the hospital bed after the surgery. Because he's not out of critical condition yet, Zhang Qin Feng isn't allowed to visit him, let alone applying the Instant Recovery Spray on his uncle.
Thus, to calm himself down, he came to his uncle's store that went into flames yesterday. After making sure his identity as a family member of the victim, he was allowed into the crime scene to look around.
There were a few broken glasses here and there. Based on the rags smeared with alcohol nearby, it is likely a suspected arson case. The fire was made by two suspects using something like a makeshift molotov cocktail.
But the CCTV recording only managed to catch their escape path until the main road before both of them went missing.
And based on a rough estimation, about half a million dollars worth of products is lost in this fire. Since the uncle didn't buy any insurance to protect his business and himself, he'll have to fork out his own money for his medical fee and restoring the building…
"Feng…" Wang Yufei wanted to calm Zhang Qin Feng, but she has no idea what to say right now. Although it won't be a problem for her to take out a million or two to help the uncle and nephew duo, she's just an outsider between them.
To randomly taking out a million to help others sometimes was not the best solution.
But as Wang Yufei pondering on how to open her mouth, a phone call came into her smartphone.
**Hello?**
"This is captain Hu. Can young miss pass the phone to Mr. Zhang?" Wang Yufei answered her call, but it doesn't seem to be looking for her. The person speaking on the other side of the line asked if he can talk to Zhang Qin Feng.
"This is Zhang Qin Feng speaking," he said.
"I am captain Hu. We've met before back in President Wang's house. Do you still remember?" the person called Captain Hu tried to remind Zhang Qin Feng where they met before.
"Yes, I remembered. The butler, correct? Is there something I can help for you to reach me through Yufei's phone?" Zhang Qin Feng answered.
"First of all, I'm sorry about hearing what happened to your uncle. But we have a clue who might have done it. Would you mind following the young miss back to the Wang Estate so we can talk about it?" Captain Hu said. He did not elaborate it further as it seems to be inconvenient for him to do so.
"Please tell me the motive behind this attack." Zhang Qin Feng asked. Based on what he knew, the only problem he ever had in this Suihe (South) District is the matter with Xuanwu Gang. But the Xuanwu Gang doesn't seem to behave as reckless as this.
Of course, that's just his personal opinion.
"We believe it might be related to the merchandise that wrongly gets into your uncle's store. He might be involved in an attempt for a terrorist attack without knowing." Captain Hu said.
"This…" Zhang Qin Feng wanted to continue asking, but before he did, Captain Hu interrupted.
"Our conversation here is confidential. If you like to hear more about this, please come back with our young lady. We'll be waiting for you." Captain Hu said.
"Then… I'll see you later." Zhang Qin Feng returned the smartphone to Wang Yufei and made sure that Stein record all the irregularities around the shop.
'Is there anything suspicious here, Stein?' Zhang Qin Feng whispered while Wang Yufei is occupied by the phone call.
[Yes. There are a few irregularities here and there. The system also noticed a patch of blood on the floor near your uncle's working table. From what the system deducted, he's likely tortured by the attackers for some information]
'Is there anything else?' Zhang Qin Feng asked.
"Feng… My grandfather wanted to see me… Do you mind if we go back to the Wang Estate?" Wang Yufei asked. She seems sorry for making a request like this while Zhang Qin Feng had something in his mind.
"Let's go. The butler has already told me about what happened." Zhang Qin Feng smiled. He knew that it was just an excuse to get them home.
Driving close to an hour to the Wang Estate, Wang Yufei excused herself as she quickly went to her grandfather's room. As for Zhang Qin Feng, he was escorted to the maid and butler's resting lounge.
"Mr. Zhang, welcome to the temporary office of the Tianhe Special Squadron." Captain Hu and Ruo-Lin greet Zhang Qin Feng. They're dressed slightly differently from the first time Zhang Qin Feng saw them.
"Tianhe Special Squadron? Is that not the rumored Anti-Terrorist Unit of our southern district? You guys are the elite of the Suihe City Armed force, correct?" Zhang Qin Feng was impressed.
"To think that Mr. Zhang heard about us before. This is embarrassing. But let us get back to the main topic first, shall we?" Captain Hu invite Zhang Qin Feng to take a seat.
"So… Captain Hu, please tell me the reason my uncle is involved in this. I dare to vouch for my uncle's credibility that he has nothing to do with any terrorist activity." Zhang Qin Feng said.
"I believe your word, Mr. Zhang. But our suspicion is not on your uncle but the new worker he hired. From our facial recognition software, it seems that the worker is a hired mercenary from the country called the Horusian Republic."
"Horusian Republic? I don't remember hearing anything problematic from this country…" Zhang Qin Feng said. But before he finished his words, Stein secretly communicates with him through his mind.
[The Horusian Republic is believed to be the culprit behind the bombing scene in the City of Nobleheim]

"Is this related to the bombing in Nobleheim and Radioactive Technologies Summit?" Zhang Qin Feng was suddenly able to put the picture together.
"This…" Captain Hu smiled as he knew that Zhang Qin Feng is not normal.
"Yes. It might be related. Have you heard about the Horus Eyes Mercenaries?" Captain Hu asked.
