Detective From the Future

Chapter 1: A future police.

Chapter 1: A future police.

Han Bin had just been transferred to the office of the Third Criminal Investigation Team two days ago in the Second Group. Sitting in the office, playing with a police badge he had recently received on transfer, this badge was smaller than usual and looked very much unique, with the number 57 75 33 written on it.

Han Bin was in a daze, and he was swimming in the clouds. Suddenly a voice appeared in his mind: "This is a badge from the future it is related to police number 57 75 33."

"What's going on? What is happening to me? Han Bin wondered in surprise.

"This police badge was developed in 2170. It is a new type of auxiliary police equipment that can impart brainwave knowledge and quickly acquire skills."

"Is there an evil spirit in me?"

"2170! Isn't it a hundred and fifty years later? How is it going now and how do we turn back time or move forward?!" Han Bin wondered.

"An experimental accident caused the police badge to cross into parallel space," prompted the voice in Han Bin's mind.

Han Bin felt strange, but the hint in his mind was real.

"Police officer number 57 75 33   received this badge as a gift for his transfer to the criminal investigation team." The voice had continued inciting.

[Skills: Footprints identification.]

[level: Advanced]

[Function: According to footprints, sock prints, and so on, to find the traces and physical characteristics of the suspect.]

"Oh my God..."

Han Bin felt that there was a buzzing in his brain, and a large amount of knowledge and data was being transmitted to his brain, in an automatic way, and after a long time he felt that he had returned to reason and that he was still in the office of the Third Criminal Investigation Team, the same office is still the same decorates, and it seems that it was only a moment later that he had found that 'only one thing had changed in that office, and that thing was in him, a lot of knowledge about footprints identification is stored in his mind.'

Han Bin understood footprints identification is a very complex criminal investigation skill, which could only be mastered with a lot of observation, data, and experience, and that there was no than a handful of experts capable of mastering this skill.

While deep in thought, Han Bin heard this sentence: "Young Han are you used to your transfer to our team, the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team?" This sentence came from a man in his thirties who had just entered the office with a bag in his hand when he saw Han Bin in a distracted state.

Han Bin turned his head and looked at Zhang Ping the deputy captain of the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team and said: "Very well."

"For our criminal investigation team, we will be busy in the future," Zhang Ping said.

"I'm ready," Han Bin said.

Previously, Han Bin was a policeman at the traffic police station, and it had been two days since he was transferred to the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team.

"When you were a traffic policeman, you studied to become a criminal police officer. Although it is a little more difficult, there are more opportunities for meritorious service, and the development path in the future is wide," Zhang Ping said in the same tone.

"Yes, I will definitely learn from Team Leader Zhang and study hard," said Han Bin.

Zhang Ping as previously said was deputy captain of the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team.

Policewoman in her twenties was preceded by the sound of her feet suddenly appeared in the office: "Captain Zhang, there has been a theft in the Qingdao brewery!"

The policewoman had short hair, a good appearance, a tall body, and she behaved in a capable manner. She is Tian Li of the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team.

"Is anyone hurt?"

"No, Captain."

"How much property has been lost?"

"With a prime estimate over one million Yuan, captain."

"Call Li Hui to the scene," Zhang Ping said.

"Yes, Captain."

Tsingtao Beer is the best-known beer brand in China and one of the main industries in Qingdao. There are several breweries in Qingdao City.

Half an hour later, the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team rushed to the suburban brewery.

It is a secondary factory and its scale was not too big, at that time the police had already set up a cordon around the factory and the comrades of the police station were maintaining law and order.

After greeting the police officers, Zhang Ping took the three officers who were escorting him directly to the factory.

"This smell is so intoxicating." Li Hui took a deep breath.

"You are so enticing, letting Captain Zhang see you like this must leave him heartbroken." Han Bin smiled.

Zhang Ping, the deputy captain of the Second Group of the Third Criminal Investigation Team, looked at Li Hui contemptuously; he knew Li Hui and Han Bin both of them were classmates who had graduated from the police academy.

"You want to drink beer, no problem. You solved the case and did really well," Zhang Ping said.

Li Hui and Han Bin smirked and did not speak.

Everyone even if he was not a policeman knows the implication of this sentence. The case has been unresolved.

Zhang Ping approached a square-faced man in his forties and said: "Liu Suo."

"Captain  Zhang, you are here," Liu Suo smiled.

"What is the specific situation?" Zhang Ping asked.

"At five in the morning, the police station received a call from guard Zhou Jianguo, saying there was a theft at the Qingdao Brewery. We sent someone in and found the door to the building and the offices and finance room on the second floor were damaged, and the safe was opened. The amount is huge, it is reported."

"Are there any witnesses?"

"No."

"Was Zhou Jiangsu on duty last night?" Zhang Ping asked.

"Yes, but he didn't find any abnormalities either," Liu Suo said.

"Tian Li, you are going to check the surveillance cameras in the factory; Li Hui, you are visiting the employees to see if there are any other clues; Han Bin and I are going to the finance room." Zhang Ping ordered.

"Yes Captain." all three responded at the same time.

......

The office building has a glass door, which is easy to damage. As long as the glass near the lock is broken, the door can be opened. The technical team takes pictures for proof.

......

"Are there fingerprints?" Zhang Ping said.

The technician shook his head, "We haven't found any fingerprints so far. He may have worn gloves during his commission of the crime."

Han Bin nodded, put on shoe covers, and walked to the second-floor finance room while watching.

The entrance to the finance room was guarded, but it had been destroyed. The door to the finance room was broken open. The room is small; its area did not exceed ten square meters. There was a safe in the corner of a closet. The closet door was open, and there was only a stack of documents and no valuables next to this safe.

Han Bin had put on his gloves and took the crowbar toss aside to observe, "Crow's feet are a very common tool used for breaking down doors and there was no obvious fingerprint sign."

Zhang Ping shook his head, "There are so many things on the construction site."

Zhang Ping crouched down and looked at the edge of the safe, "This safe has a lot of lever marks. It must have taken the thief a long time to open it, like a novice committing a crime."

Han Bin had remarked: "While looking for the safe, the thief did not make small movements to be able to find it and to open it, how come the guard of the factory did not notice it?"

"After a while, we'll see it there," Zhang Ping said.

......

Zhang Ping and Han Bin went to the factory's guard room and stood at the door to observe the place, and the guard's room was not large, with a table, a bed, a wardrobe, and some various objects. An old man in his sixties sat at the head of the bed.

Seeing the two standing in front of the door, guard Zhou Jiangsu hurriedly stood up, "Dear agents."

Zhang Ping nodded slightly and walked into the room and a small crackle came from under his feet, he had stepped on peanut shells.

"Sorry, I didn't have time to clean up," Zhou Jiangsu said.

Zhang Ping wrinkled his nose and smelled a slight smell of wine: "This peanut and this wine are perfectly fine."

Han Bin understood, searched the room, and found a small bottle of Erguotou under the bed.

"You have a great meal last night." Han Bin shook the bottle.

"Not a lot, not a lot." Zhou Jiangsu sneered.

"Old man, you drink Erguotou in this brewery, does that make sense?" Zhang Ping said.

"When I was young, I also liked drinking beer. Now that I'm older, I can't take it at night," Zhou Jiangsu said.

"Didn't you hear anything last night?" Zhang Ping said.

"No I didn't hear anything, and I only found that the door to the office building was damaged when I got up in the morning." Zhou Jiangsu said.

"How many years have you worked here?"

"For seven or eight years."

"Did something happen before?"

"No."

"If you can remember any clue, please don't hesitate to contact us," Han Bin said.

"OK."

After completing the interrogation of guard Zhou Jiangsu, Zheng Ping and Han Bin left the guardian's room without any helpful clues.

"Captain Zhang, do you think the guard is a suspect?" Han Bin asked.

"The warden's room is about a hundred meters from the office building and Zhou Jiangsu has become an old man and his hearing has deteriorated and he has drunk wine which will certainly cause him problems."

"Of course, this is just speculation, and these assumptions cannot completely rule him out from suspicious people."

"Jiangsu last night was too irresponsible."

Han Bin shook his head and Zhang Ping added with a disagreeable expression: "He's an old man waiting for retirement. He earns two thousand Yuan a month. It's okay not to leave the room. Do you really expect him to catch the thief?"

Tian Li approached and said: "Captain Zhang, there are five surveillance cameras in the factory, including the one in front of the factory gate, the parking lot, and the factory building. The camera in the finance room was destroyed."

"In the office building, are there any signs of theft in other departments?" Zhang Ping asked.

"No."

"This suspect, who knows the location of the camera and headed straight for the finance room, should be someone familiar with the field. Could it be an insider who committed the crime?", Guess Han Bin.

"Captain Zhang, from this side I found some footprints." Li Hui shouted while standing near the wall.

Zhang Ping and the others walked towards the fence, and it is at the end of a clearing where some flowers and plants were planted in the past, but now it is deserted.

On the muddy ground, a cluster of footprints was clearly visible, coming from the root of the wall.

"Li Hui, do you think this set of footprints belonged to the suspect?" Tian Li asked.

Li Hui shrugged: "It was coming from under the wall anyway."

Tian Li rolled her eyes.

"No suspect was found in the door surveillance camera. The thief should have entered over the wall," said Han Bin.

Han Bin saw this set of footprints and the knowledge of identifying the footprints immediately came to mind, like a chef, seeing fresh ingredients.
