Chapter 254 254 – The Bizarre Thing
"You're not going to sacrifice yourself, are you?" Lexi widened her eyes.
The supreme undead laughed. "Of course not! We don't have to sacrifice a high being, but we can also use the most valuable things from them, right?"
My brain immediately came to a conclusion. "You will sacrifice your left eye?"
The other's gaze immediately fell on me.
"Yeah." Emily moved to the center of the magic circle while widening her smile. "This thing is very precious to me and maybe one of the reasons I become a high being."
"But you won't be able to grow it back or replace it, Emily," Ayre commented. "No matter what you do, your sight won't come back."
"It's okay." Emily chuckled. "It's no big deal. The important thing is we can return to our world."
I got up and faced her. My gaze fell on her red left eye. Of course, I don't want one of my women to be half-blind.
But we have no other choice.
"Ayre," I called the shapeshifter general. "Do you have another solution?"
"We may have to travel the world to find a suitable place for Velvet to activate her powers. But I'm sure it will take a very long time, even with Fergus' help." Ayre replied. "Or we can look for high beings in this world if there are any."
Emily touched my chest, looking at me intently. "Your Empire needs you urgently, my lord. We don't have the luxury of stalling for any more time."
Even though I didn't want to, I answered. "I will reward you handsomely for this, Emily."
The supreme undead smiled again while the others fell silent. It seemed they thought the same as me. They didn't want Emily to do that but couldn't come up with any other solution.
Ayre took a potion from the pocket dimension and gave it to the supreme undead. "This will make the pain you feel greatly reduced, but perhaps the effect will…."
"No." Emily interrupted. "I'll do it as Vorn did before."
"But that time was different," I said. "It would be complicated to explain. The thing is, when I was in that world early on, I couldn't feel pain yet."
Another chuckle left Emily's mouth. "Even if what you say is true, I will still do as I wish. Moreover, there is a possibility that I will have to fight as soon as I arrive in that world. I still need some awareness."
Before the others could speak again, Emily dug her fingers into her left eye socket. The supreme undead's dark blood began to flow. Her body shook violently, but her gaze remained focused on me, and looked determined.
We've come a long way before she was willing to make such a great sacrifice.
"Fuck…. This hurts so much." She handed her eyeball to me.
"Once again, I swear, I will give you a wonderful gift, Emily." I took that thing.
She shook her head, still smiling. "All I want is for us to always be together."
I then kissed her cold lips, slightly feeling her blood that entered my mouth. Afterward, I turned around and placed the eyeball near the Mythril sword.
Ayre took a deep breath. "We can already perform the ritual. Stand within this magic circle."
The women followed Ayre's orders and hugged Emily's body one by one.
"It's strange to get this kind of treatment from my love rivals." The supreme undead sneered.
Ayre looked at me, and I nodded. The shapeshifter general held the hilt of the mythril sword, and in a matter of seconds, that thing lit up.
"Please sprinkle some giganpoppy powder around the blade, Doc." Ayre gave instructions.
The doctor sprinkled the powder according to the shapeshifter general's words.
The moment Ayre let go of that sword, a slowly rotating yellow light portal started to form in the center of the magic circle. As time passed, the portal expanded and eventually covered the magic circle completely.
I could feel warmth, and my body started sinking into that portal.
"You will feel something different than time travel, my lord," Ayre explained. "So, get ready."
"I hope they won't start a rebellion just because my appearance is so different." I chuckled to hide my nervousness. I've never felt anything like this with my real body, after all.
My body kept sinking until I could only see the bright light, triggering me to close my eyes.
Then, I felt my feet were groundless, and my body swayed in many directions.
Finally, I will return to my house.
And it was then I felt a great urgency to open my eyes. Instead of finding my women, I saw something else.
I floated in what can only be described as a giant room with walls of white light. And in front of me was a 100-foot-sized object made of white blocks of various sizes. Those blocks moved continuously, almost like a machine with high precision.
And at the center of that thing is a giant eyeball fixed on me.
What the hell is that? That thing was so foreign compared to anything in both the worlds I visited.
After only a few moments of seeing that, the scenery around me changed, and I could see my women. I was still in the wall of light, but this time it was a giant tunnel, and we were all floating through it.
"Are you all right, my lord?" Phisovia flew to me using her wings. "You just disappeared for a while, and Ayre managed to bring you back."
"Something is interrupting our journey." The shapeshifter general chimed in. "But I don't know what it is. I can't even read its energy…. That thing feels like it only exists to get in your way."
"I saw it, and it was bizarre….." I explained what I just saw, and they all looked confused.
"I've never heard or read anything like that," Lexi responded. "And I'm sure the others feel the same way."
Ayre rubbed her chin. "Well, I'll check this once we return to our world."
"We're almost there." Velvet pointed at a yellow point of light in the distance.
"We better focus on what we will face next. We have to defeat Hiana to protect our territory." I give an order. "We can think about that later."
