Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Chips Craving
Upon the crow’s soul entering Blake’s mouth and entering his stomach, Blake was ready to savor the taste of the soul as best as possible since he didn’t know when he would get another chance to eat a high-leveled creature’s soul.
But when the savory taste finally hit him, Blake was caught off guard by how much tastier the crow’s soul tasted compared to the gorilla’s soul.
He didn’t know whether it was because the crow was even stronger than the gorilla hence it had a better flavor or the soul had become considerably tastier because Blake had been craving to taste a tasty soul for quite some time.
But the fact that his whole body had trembled slightly when he swallowed the crow’s soul only means that he wasn’t imagining things and the soul did taste better than he had expected.
Blake then moved his eyes onto the unmoving crow that still had its body wrapped tightly by the darkness tendrils.
He then stared at the crow’s body, particularly at the empty air above the crow’s body where the soul had been floating a few moments ago.
‘Haa.... Why do creatures only have one soul...’ Blake cried inwardly.
.....
‘One is really not enough at all...’
Just as he thought that eating a tasty soul was like eating chips, what Blake currently felt right now was as if he had scoured all the shops and supermarkets in town for the whole week, trying to find his favorite chips, finding them, only to be given one single piece of chips and told to scour the town once again if he wanted to get another bite.
But in the end, Blake knew that he couldn’t do anything about it and just shove the cravings that he got into the back of his mind until he and Robus met other strong creatures that they could defeat.
However, even though that one soul was not enough for him to satiate his cravings, it was definitely enough to bring him up a level.

Blake had leveled up a few times during his hunt and forest exploring with Robus.
And even though he could reach a higher level when he hunted for a full week before, now, he was only able to raise three levels because the soul required for each level up had been significantly raised when he stepped onto level 5.
And if not for the fact that the slightly stronger demonic creatures that he met along the way gave 2 or sometimes 3 souls, Blake would have been lucky if he even leveled up only twice.
And the crow’s soul, which turned out to give him 6 souls instead of 5 souls, gave him the final push for him to finally level up for the third time this week.
Although he still felt annoyed that he probably couldn’t eat any more delicious souls any time soon, it was still a very beneficial hunt and Blake couldn’t be happier about it.
Blake then waited a few minutes until the nether that gathered into the darkness tendrils dissipated on their own before taking the whole crow into the dimensional pouch that Vera gave him.
It had almost taken up all the space that the small dimensional pouch had, but Blake hoped that the crow that had a tasty soul would also have tasty meat that he could cook.
He didn’t know how the crow would taste, but remembering that chicken and ducks taste not too different from each other, Blake just assumed that birds would have similar tastes to each other, and wished that the crow would not disappoint him as a tasty fried chicken leg might probably help him curb down his cravings for a tasty soul.
After storing the crow, Blake closed his eyes and tried to feel the connection between him and Robus.
It wasn’t his first time doing it, and it only took him about 10 seconds to finally feel the general direction that he should go to meet the giant gorilla.
From focusing and feeling the faint connection in his body, Blake knew that Robus was currently far away from his current position.
‘Is he still busy with his fight? I thought I already spent so much time with the crow that he would catch up to me soon.’ Blake wondered.
Blake believed that the gorilla wouldn’t lose as the two of them had basically scouted the crow and the other creature that Robus was fighting with and they both couldn’t feel any looming threat or a great sense of danger from the two creatures.
But just in case something unfortunate had happened, Blake quickly retracted his dark earth armor to make himself lighter and made his way towards Robus’ location.
With his increased physique, Blake traversed the forest with relative ease, albeit not as fast as when he rode on Robus’ back.
And now that he had just leveled up, it was possible to add even more points to his physique stat.
Even with 15 points in his physique stat, Blake was already able to have a much more athletic body that easily listened to all of his brain’s commands and almost did them without fail.
If he added five more from his current level up, Blake could only imagine his physique would be getting into the entry-level of what might be considered a superhuman physique.
However, in the end, Blake didn’t put those points into his physique stat, but instead, he put them into his spirit stat instead because of one reason.
He wanted to be able to use second realm darkness elemental spells without having his knees kissing the ground and powerless afterward.
Blake realized that being able to use second realm darkness elemental spells in the first realm where nobody could use them, except for Vera and that was if she used nether gathering formation, was simply a huge benefit or privilege that only he, himself had.
And that’s why, with only a tiny bit of hesitation of wanting to be as strong as the huge gorilla because it looked cool as hell, Blake threw in the five status points that he just got into his spirit stat.
