Chapter 267 - 267 Fight (6)
267 Fight (6)
By the end of Vera’s vicious spell, the scrawny humanoid demon barely stood on his two feet. Now not only on his back, but bloody holes also appeared all over his body, some bigger than others depending on how deep the sharp darkness spikes had penetrated into his body.
If the scrawny humanoid demon still had the ability to fly, then his condition might not be as miserable as he currently is, but due to Vera’s unexpected counter spell that burned the scrawny humanoid demon’s wings, making those wings a liability instead of a tool that the scrawny humanoid demon could use to save himself, the humanoid demon was forced to defend himself amidst the hundreds of protruding darkness spikes with only his two feet and his barely manifested spells.
The scrawny humanoid demon had abandoned the flame barrier since he knew that it did more harm to him than actually saving him from receiving damage and changed it to a second darkness barrier, but with such a simple barrier spell and his rather poor physique, the scrawny humanoid demon couldn’t do anything much when dozens of those darkness spikes hit his barriers.
The darkness barriers were always on the verge of breaking. Holes appeared on many parts of the barrier that supposedly protected the scrawny humanoid from all sides except for his head and his feet.
And even though the scrawny humanoid demon tried his best to patch those holes up by pumping in his nether, the darkness spikes did so much more damage in a split second that the supplied nether could barely do anything to repair the not superficial damages that it received.
As a result, those darkness spikes made their way through the holes and thus hitting the scrawny humanoid demon’s body. Some he was able to avoid by tilting his body or managing his footwork.
However, the erratic movements and the unpredictability of where the next darkness would appear didn’t help the scrawny humanoid demon and resulted in a lot of the darkness spikes succeeding in piercing through their targets.
Not to say the darkness spikes that decided to appear from right under the scrawny humanoid demon were really effective in forcing the scrawny humanoid demon to constantly move lest he want a darkness spike to pierce through his chest from beneath his feet.
Fortunately for the scrawny humanoid demon, after the long arduous duration of the suicide spell that somehow had been tamed, the scrawny humanoid demon had survived it all. Although with ghastly wounds on his body and blood that kept on bleeding out, the scrawny humanoid demon succeeded in preventing his heart from being stabbed by the darkness spikes.
.....
Unfortunately though, in those seconds the scrawny humanoid demon spent dancing around and trying his best to survive, the demoness that was responsible for casting the spell didn’t stay idle either.
With her enemy occupied by himself, she was free to do whatever she wanted. And of course, that includes charging her spell with more nether, strengthening the effect of her spell.
And when she felt the nether that manifested the suicide garden had dissipated back into the environment, she released the other spell that she had been charging with her nether for all those long seconds.
Of course, with quite a substantial amount of nether being used in the spell, albeit not as much as the suicide spike garden, there was no way the scrawny humanoid demon would not notice it.
However, Vera had spent the last few seconds memorizing and studying the scrawny humanoid demon’s dodging pattern. And with the humanoid demon dodging every second due to the darkness spikes, it wasn’t a challenge for the experienced Vera to find out the pattern.
So when she released her spell, she already predicted the scrawny humanoid demon’s innate reflex and positioned the spell according to that.
As a result, even though the scrawny humanoid demon had done the fastest dodge that he could, he still could not escape the grasp of Vera’s spell as a portal suddenly manifested right under his body.
With the portal opening right under him, the scrawny humanoid demon’s body fell down as his feet entered the ground, or more precisely, Vera’s portal.
The scrawny humanoid demon was only halfway falling through the portal when Vera suddenly drew another set of runes, a quick one that required no less than a fraction of a second.
And when that rune flashed and disappeared, there was not a single thing that manifested into the world. Instead, the wide portal that was wide enough to swallow the scrawny humanoid demon’s body whole had abruptly closed, cutting the scrawny humanoid demon’s body in half.
A massive flood of pain assaulted the scrawny humanoid demon’s mind as he felt his connection to his lower body disappear and the burst of blood dyed the ground right under him with a red so thick that the grass and ground had all lost their original color, encased by the red color of the scrawny humanoid demon’s blood.
The flailing of the scrawny humanoid demon’s arms was enough to send his own body rolling left and right due to the size of his body being halved. With less mass to move, even the erratic flailing of arms was enough to send the body moving everywhere.
Even though his already wounded wings were getting the wounds opened up even bigger with the constant flailing, the scrawny humanoid demon didn’t even register the pain of having his wings torn even more due to his pain receptors were already overstimulated with the pain coming from his severed lower half.
Seeing the thing moving around like a fish out of water and spilling his blood everywhere, Vera decided to do a quick fix by casting a simple darkness-binding spell. Bendy flexible darkness tendrils then soon did their work and secured the half-a-humanoid demon in place, preventing it from moving around anymore and slowly but surely letting it bleed to death peacefully.
Over on the opposite side of the darkness and dark flame walls that Blake had erected, a huge gorilla could be seen thrusting his huge spear downward, straight to the ground.
It looked as if the gorilla was trying to put holes in the ground, but when he actually raised his spear up high, a lifeless corpse of a humanoid demon was hanging on the tip of his spear.
Even if it was only the tip of the spear, only the tip of the spear was actually almost as big as the humanoid demon’s forearm. As a result, the spear had made a hole as long as the humanoid demon’s arm on the humanoid demon’s chest.
Fortunately for the humanoid demon though, unlike the scrawny humanoid demon who had to bleed to death, the spear had pierced his heart, ending his life in a heartbeat, saving himself from feeling the pain of having a tree-sized spear piercing through his whole body.
With two out of the three fights done, there was only one fight left, and that was the one inside the walls of darkness constructs and dark flames.
