Chapter 231 - 231 Returned And A New Resolve
231 Returned And A New Resolve
Inside a dark empty void, Blake felt his body float away following an unseen current that dragged his body somewhere through the empty void.

Before Blake could read the details of the quest, Blake felt the space around him waver before he felt his body was suddenly jerked upward, going out of the unknown stream that dragged his body forward through the dark and empty space.
The sight before him then soon changed. Falling from a few meters above the ground, Blake landed on a familiar grassy plain that he had been in before he went back to the human world.
Robus also followed after him, landing in front of him while he was still in his small monkey form.
“Robus? Why are you still small?”
“r-” (I don’t kno-)
Robus’ words were cut off as he felt a foreign nether had suddenly left his body. He didn’t feel it before, but now that it had moved out of his body, Robus could actually feel that there used to be an unknown nether that had integrated itself with his body.
And as soon as the foreign force disappeared, Robus felt his whole body filled with power as a swirl of nether began gathering around him and covered his whole body once again.
The small swirl of nether that was barely enough to cover Robus’ small monkey body steadily grew into a huge swirl that towered over Blake.
The small nether tornado then finally began to die down and revealed a huge gorilla, about 15 meters tall, with the fur on his body being primarily black and some brownish part on his back.
Having his mighty body back, Robus released a roar as he once again announced his appearance in the first demon realm.
The black portal that brought Blake and Robus back had disappeared from the sky above Blake, letting him see the familiar sun that hung in the dead center of the sky and the reddish sky that encompassed the whole realm.
“We’re back, pal.” Blake heaved a sigh as he took in his surroundings.
After his short return to earth, Blake now had a promise that he had to keep, and his deadline would be three years. It was a number that Blake’s mind had come up with after trying his best to think of a realistic number that he could promise Amy.
Considering he was able to move on from the first demon realm to the next one in just about two months, Blake was confident that he would at most spend 1 year in the second realm. And by that time, he should already have much more knowledge about the demon realms, and possibly learn about how to navigate through the dark portals and found a portal that at least leads to the other world behind the gate that stood on his world.
“For now, I need to finish this quest first and complete my first evolution..”
Blake then took his time to read the quest properly this time.

Quest:
+(Evolution) Acquire A Condensed Darkness Elemental Stone
Due to the host’s unique constitution, the evolution process needed more than just nether of the realm to complete. With the evolution catalyst as the first requirement, the second requirement is a condensed darkness elemental stone that was found in one of the nether rich zones in the first demon realm. Fret not, the system will give Host a guide so that Host would be able to locate the stone correctly and complete the evolution process as soon as possible!

As soon as Blake finished reading the description, Blake closed his eyes and focused on his body. And of course, just like before, Blake found another new connection in his body with something foreign that he didn’t know of.
However, different from the strong connection that he felt when he was teleported into the woods near the orphanage, Blake felt the connection that he felt with the unknown object was barely noticeable. ‘Probably because it was located far away from where I am currently.’
After learning of the new connection that the system established within him, Blake then took notice of a familiar connection that he hadn’t felt for the last few hours when he was still in the demon realm.
‘This feeling… It was Cyra…’ Blake quickly recognized what that other connection was connected to. Blake could feel that Cyra was located not that far away from him, and even at this second, he could feel the connection was getting stronger, which means that Cyra was currently moving in closer in his direction.
And with how much the strength of the connection increased, Blake could only guess that Cyra was moving incredibly fast. ‘I made her worry didn’t I…?’ Blake thought to himself as he imagined the little demoness probably creating huge explosions to propel herself forward to him as fast as she could.
‘I hope she didn’t feel that lonely…’ At the last second before the black portal swallowed him whole, Blake could feel the panic and horror that she was feeling when she saw him disappearing.
If he had known earlier that he would be suddenly teleported back to the human world, then he would make sure to bring his two friends with him. He knew how Cyra felt alone before he made the covenant with her and enabled her to properly interact with things without burning them. Him suddenly disappearing and leaving her alone must have been quite traumatizing for her.
‘But I hope it worked…’ He didn’t know how long he would be gone in the human realm, and that’s why Blake activated and threw the bracelet that he wore to the ground, leaving it near Cyra in the demon realm before he was teleported away.
It was Blake’s way of making sure that Cyra wouldn’t be left all alone just in case he disappeared for years. He didn’t know how it would actually turn out if the two of them met, but he believed that his teacher wouldn’t do anything rash when the two of them meet and she would actually be able to speak and interact with Cyra even though the two of them hadn’t properly met yet.
They did meet before, but Cyra was still a huge bundle of fiery red flames, his teacher would not be able to recognize the current her that was not covered in flames from top to bottom.
And of course, Blake was proven right as he heard not a single explosion, but a loud excited shout instead,
“Brotheeeeeer! Uncleeeeee!” Cyra’s voice traveled through the sky as Blake looked up above while Robus just casually turned his head.
The two of them then saw Cyra flying above the trees. But she flew without using even one of her explosions to keep herself up floating in mid-air. Instead, she was happily spreading her arms to the side as someone carried her in the air.
Even from a hundred meters away, there was no way for Blake to be able to forget her reddish hair and drop-dead gorgeous appearance. Flapping her wings to propel herself and the little demoness in her hands, Vera quickly made her way towards the two boys that just stood in their place.
===============================
About an hour had passed ever since Blake had disappeared once again into somewhere that she didn’t know of.
Well, she now knew of it, but she had never heard of it before. Her brother called it the demon realm, but the textbooks that she studied in school had never mentioned them before. All she knew was that all the demons came from somewhere and no one had been there before.
But her brother suddenly told her that he was teleported there, became a demon, transported back to her world, then dragged back into the demon realm once again.
She had spent the last 30 minutes crying to herself as she sat on the ground right where the black portal had gobbled up her brother and taken him away from her, probably for years to come.
He did promise her that he would be back for 3 years, which was very fast compared to the initial estimated time of 10 years, but still, for Amy who used to live with Blake every single day ever since the moment she could talk, 3 years was a very long time for her to be living without Blake.
She had already spent all her tears and right now, she was already back inside the orphanage, processing all the things that had happened today. Especially about her brother’s sudden transformation to a demon and him being dragged away back to the demon realm.
Amy was sure that her brother was dragged away unwillingly because, at the last moment, he was saying no and telling something unknown that he still didn’t want to go yet, but his pleading fell on deaf ear and Amy saw with her own eyes how the black portal had man-handled her brother and sucked him inside the portal.
‘Brother was forcefully turned into a demon and was forced to work for them…’ This was the conclusion that she got after thinking things through.
From her brother’s sudden change in attitude, becoming more violen- much harsher than before, to his strong warning to not fight against the demons, and lastly, when she saw he was forced into doing something against his own will, which was going back to the demon realm, Amy was quite sure of her own conclusion.
“I need to save brother from those demons…”
Amy then closed the window she had been using to stare at the night sky and returned to her usual room. A new resolve made its foundations in her heart as she now lived with a clear purpose in her life.
