Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Robus’ Rematch (1)
“Do you know where to find that thing?”
“Rrrr!”
“Alright, let’s go!” Blake said as he prepared to run beside the giant gorilla next to him.
“Rrrr.”
“Really? Okay then!” Blake had actually wanted to test out his current physical strength to see whether he had actually gotten stronger with the little changes he felt in his body earlier after making the pact with Robus since the status page didn’t indicate any point increase in the physique stat. He wondered whether the system didn’t actually register the change in his body or the change was probably too minuscule to be counted as a whole point increase.
However, when a very huge gorilla the size of a monster truck had suddenly offered him to ride on its back, of course, Blake would put the testing of his physical ability aside for later and decided to take the free ride.
Robus gently grabbed Blake’s small body and then placed him on his wide back and told Blake to grab onto his fur since he would be running at full speed. Blake quickly nodded his head and grabbed a bundle of fur right away as he looked forward to the amusement-park-like ride.
.....
Blake then stopped supplying nether into the runes in the middle of his chest to make the dark earth armor disappear as he didn’t want to add weight to Robus’ back and then patiently waited for Robus to finally start moving.
And just like Blake was ready, Robus, now with a fully-healed body and a newfound power and ability, was also ready to settle his business with the other gorilla that had trampled on his face just a few hours ago.
Then with a single casual kick from his feet, Robus easily jumped almost 10 meters forward before delivering another kick to the ground, propelling himself forward once again as he traversed through the demonic forest at an unbelievable speed.
And on top of his back, Blake, who was expecting a roller coaster-like ride, was certainly not disappointed as he felt the wind blowing on his face and the up and down sensation from the constant jumping that Robus did.
The two continued their journey like that for about 15 minutes, but in those 15 minutes, Robus had easily traveled about twice the usual distance that Blake was capable of moving with his two small legs. And they could have traveled around some more as Blake was still not bored from 15 minutes of constant jumping around, but the reason that they actually stopped was because they had finally found the target that the two of them were looking for.
A gorilla that had the same size as Robus, with a deep brown colored fur covering its whole body, and a few piles of the fruit that the boars liked to eat on its side, Robus had finally met the gorilla that had just defeated him.
With the connection that Blake also felt with Robus, he knew that the gorilla was now preparing both his body and mind to fight, and he decided to take the initiative to jump onto another tree branch, some distance away from the place using his darkness tendril so that he wouldn’t be meddling in Robus’ fight, but not too far away so that he could still watch it properly.
The moment Robus felt Blake moving away from his back, Robus released a deafening roar in the direction of the other gorilla, which made the latter drop the fruit that it was about to eat to stare in the direction where it heard the roar was coming from.
Although Robus’ body was mostly in a shade of black after the pact he made with Blake, with his whole body almost as big as the trees, there was no way the other Gorilla wouldn’t notice his presence that was only about tens of meters away.
Seeing that another gorilla beside itself had appeared, the brown-furred gorilla quickly replied to Robus’ roar with its own before jumping forward and ready to fight head-on to determine which of the two was stronger.
Of course, Robus didn’t back down and also jumped forward and took on the brown-furred gorilla with its own two fists. And with his new appearance, the brown-furred gorilla didn’t seem to recognize Robus as it bravely tried to trade fist with Robus, resulting in the other gorilla getting pummeled after a few exchanges with Robus’ superior physique.
Blake didn’t know whether the pact had some other benefits that he wasn’t aware of aside from the ones that the system mentioned, but seeing how Robus fought currently and comparing it to how he fought earlier, Blake noticed that the current Robus was much more confident in his every punch as the moment Robus had committed to a punch, he would throw in his shoulder, rotate his hips, and planted his feet on the ground and delivered a full-powered punch to the other’s gorilla’s body, most often its face.
Robus also used the same attack in his fight earlier, but the frequency went up in the current fight that the other gorilla had become much more disheveled than before that when it finally decided to active its bloodline power, several deep cuts from Robus’ fists had already decorated its face even though it didn’t have any of them in the before.
Seeing that his enemy was going to use its bloodline power again, the thing that made him lose despite his total superiority in the earlier stage of the fight, a hint of nervousness appeared in Robus’ heart, but only for a split second.
As the next moment the nervousness appeared, Robus quickly erased it with a reverberating roar before he commanded the nether in his body to go into the runes on his chest. He had never activated his new bloodline power that was upgraded by the pact because Blake had cut him off the moment he wanted to test it out. But seeing Blake used the full-body earth armor before, and how the armor had looked very strong compared to his armor before, Robus cast away the doubt in his heart and went all in to trust Blake’s promise.
It used to take him a few seconds to activate his bloodline power, but just as he had found out earlier, his ability to command the nether had increased by several levels that he only needed about 1 and a half-second to activate the demonic runes on his chest and for the rocks to start appearing on his body.
Seeing its enemy had finished activating their bloodline power in half the time that it took to activate his own, a seed of worry started to be planted in the brown-furred gorilla’s heart and it grew even more the moment the gorilla saw the other gorilla in front of it had also had full body armor just like itself, furthermore, the full-body armor that the other gorilla used looked incredibly ominous with almost pitch black-colored rocks covering its whole body instead of the usual dark brownish rocks.
But the brown-furred gorilla had never lost with its own fully body earth armor, so it tried its best to suppress the seed of worry and doubt in its heart as it brandished its fist to clash against the unknown gorilla that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
