Chapter 156
156 Caught (2)
If it was a spell coming toward him, then the flying humanoid demon might have been able to sense the nether coming at him.
However, now that the caster himself used its body as a cannonball, it took the flying humanoid demon a second longer to notice Blake that was already a few meters away from crashing into him.
Blake had used the combination of both his wings and the single darkness tendril to launch himself forward, straight to the flying humanoid demon’s body.
Blake thought that fighting the flying humanoid demon was dangerous considering he didn’t know about any capabilities of the humanoid demon from the second realm.
And the flying humanoid demon having the ability to cast 4 spells at the same time, casting 2 more spells while holding onto another two, was a concrete example of the lack of experience and knowledge that Blake possessed compared to the humanoid demon from the deeper realm despite the two of them having similar spell casting speed and a few similar sets of spells.
However, now that his best friend had been caught and there was no way he could outrun the flying humanoid demon on his own two feet, Blake was forced into a battle or fight situation.
So without having to waste his time waiting for the flying humanoid demon to make his way toward him, Blake took the initiative and made the first move from their inevitable battle.
With his body flying through the air and soon arriving near the flying humanoid demon, Blake saw the humanoid finally noticed his presence and began to flap his wings to avoid being rammed by Blake’s flying body.
However, Blake’s intention in the first place wasn’t to use his body to damage the flying humanoid demon as he even knew such a thing was stupid considering his opponent was able to use his wings to change its location in mid-air while he couldn’t do so.
.....
So when the flying humanoid demon moved its body slightly, but enough to completely dodge Blake’s body, Blake finally released the runes that he had been secretly drawing behind his back when he was only about a meter away from the flying humanoid demon’s body.
With the rune activating, a wave of darkness elements began to wash over the flying humanoid demon’s body, and some of the darkness elements latched themselves onto his body.
The flying humanoid demon, having felt the same sensation for the second time, recognized that what he felt right now was similar to the same feeling that he felt before when one of Blake’s attacks had hit his body.
And the attack that came after it, the myriad of darkness tendrils, the flying humanoid demon would never forget about it.
So when the marking spell hit his body, the flying humanoid demon quickly went into high-alert mode as he turned his eyes toward Blake’s direction.
“Don’t you dare cast that spell aga-!”
The flying humanoid demon’s words were cut off as he saw that in just a second, Blake had once again finished the dangerous spell that had wounded him.
“CURSE YOU!” The flying humanoid demon cursed as his two hands once again cast the darkness barrier spells, covering most of his body with the darkness barrier before flying high up to the sky as fast as possible while maneuvering all over the air to avoid being hit by the hundreds of darkness tendrils.
And while the flying humanoid demon was busy surviving his spell, Blake adjusted the position of his wings and glided down safely in Robus’ direction before he started casting spells to try and break his friend free from the flying humanoid demon’s binding spells.
He couldn’t use the same spell that he used to make the darkness constructs that he made disappear as the darkness tendrils and constructs in front of him weren’t from his own spell.
So Blake needed to somehow break apart the spell with brute force.
Blake’s arsenal of spells consists of the darkness elemental spells and the earth elemental spells, both of which weren’t specialized in their destroying properties.
Of course, they could be used as such, but the earth’s specialty was its toughness and the darkness’s specialty was its versatility.
Although the darkness element was able to cause some destruction with the darkness bullets, doing the same thing against another darkness construct wasn’t as effective due to their similar nature.
Just like how it would be much more effective in using fire to heat up cold water rather than using hot water to heat up cold water.
But despite the low effectiveness, Blake still tried his best to free his best friend. Other than that he didn’t have the ability and the messed up conscience to leave his friend behind while he saved himself, Blake also has no other choice since the only way he could move fast enough to get away was if he was riding on top of Robus.
Blake used darkness bullets, earth spikes, and even tried to manually pull away the pillars of darkness that held Robus’ limbs.
But one myriad of darkness tendril spell could only buy so much time that Blake was only able to root up one out of four darkness pillars out of the ground and destroy enough parts that the pillar crumbled.
It was definitely a good progress that one pillar had been destroyed, but there were still 3 more to go, and not to mention the other darkness tendrils that didn’t come from the pillar.
“I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THIS!”
After coming out of the myriad of darkness tendril spell with more wounds appearing on his body, the flying humanoid demon once again charged forward in Blake’s direction, while flying at full speed.
And after hearing a very loud shout, how could Blake not know the flying humanoid demon was coming after him?
One glance was enough for Blake to see the flying humanoid demon diving straight toward him from the red sky above.
But of course, Blake didn’t have any plans to let the flying humanoid demon nor his spells crash onto him.
Blake’s finger then began moving and cast a simple dark earth wall spell, protecting his front from being hit by the darkness bullets that the flying humanoid demon had cast towards him while also obstructing the flying humanoid demons’ view of him.
It only took the flying humanoid demon a second to adjust his flying angle and finally found Blake behind the wall of the dark earth construct.
The flying humanoid demon was about to cast more spells, a binding spell this time as he was finally close enough to the ground to cast it so that he would be able to catch Blake.
However, all of the flying humanoid demon’s thoughts suddenly broke apart as he saw the runes that Blake had once again finished drawing while he was hidden behind the dark earth wall.
Seeing the runes for the myriad of darkness tendril once again glowed and disappeared right in front of his eyes, the flying humanoid demon’s body was filled with so much anger that not even a single curse word came out of his mouth.
“ARGHHH!!!”
A resounding scream of frustration mixed with anger was the only thing that the flying humanoid demon could release before casting the darkness barriers and setting off into the sky once again to try his best and dodge as many darkness spikes as possible.
