Chapter 664
Chapter 664
The silhouette glided quite smoothly over the ground and approached them. Not a single sound of footsteps could be heard, which made the scene even creepier.
“Damn it! Why is there a ghost in this freaking game?!” Siegfried screamed out of fear.
He could not help but shudder and scream in fear, as this was the creepiest monster he had ever come across in BNW.
The silhouette finally drew close enough for them to see a bit of its appearance. It had flowing silver hair, pale white skin, and blue spirit flames for its eyes.
It was wearing what seemed to be a thin robe despite the extreme cold climate, and its appearance was no different from the virgin ghosts[1] often depicted in urban legends.
“H-Hyung-nim… I think that’s a ghost.”
“A ghost…?”
Both Seung-Gu and Gringore were woken up by the ruckus, and they seemed to be thinking that the approaching silhouette was indeed a ghost.
“Damn it…” Siegfried gritted his teeth and took out his +13 Vanquisher’s grasp. He was prepared to fight with the ghost and beat it up if he had to do so.
Bzzt! Bzzzzt!Fwaaa! Fwaaah!
He infused fire attribute energy and lightning attribute energy into his +13 Vanquisher’s Grasp to ensure that he'd deal maximum damage to the ghost.
‘I should place down my debuff fields, too,’ Siegfried thought. He considered this the best chance for him to test out his new Despicable Hydra Set.
He was about to place down Blaze Field when—
The ghost took out what seemed to be a book and asked, “Are you… countinintars?”
“Huh?” Siegfried tilted his head in confusion. Then, he asked, “What did you say?”
“Are you countinintars?”
“Countinintars? What’s that…?”
“Coun-ti-nin-tals.”
“Ah? Continentals? No, we’re Adventurers.”
The ghost grimaced and flipped through the book before asking, “Adveentureers? What are Adveentureers? Hmm… Adveentureers… Adveentureers…”
“Not Adveentureers. We are Adventurers.”
“Adven…”
“Turers.”
“Adven… turers.”
“Yes, we are Adventurers.”
“Adventurers…”
“Hmm? What’s with that accent?” Siegfried muttered, flustered by the strange demeanor of the ghost.
The ghost looked at him with a look of confusion and said, “It’s not in zee book. What are Adveentureers?”
“Pardon?”
“Adveentureers. Not in the book. What race are you?”
Gringore approached Siegfried and whispered, “Your Majesty, I believe that ghost is not fluent in the language we use on the continent.”
“Y-Yeah, it seems like it. Judging by how it keeps slurring, I think it learned our language from that book."
“It is probably studying our language.”
“I think so, too. But I wonder what the hell that thing is…?”
Siegfried decided to flash his Rune of Insight at the ghost that looked more like a beautiful woman than a ghost.
***
[Arnayan]
[A princess of the Blanc Clan.]
[Her father is the chieftain while her mother is from the continent.]
[She was separated from her mother when she was a child, and her longing for her mother made her study about the continent.]
[She had been diligently studying the continent’s common language, but she had nobody to teach her.]

“What? Princess?” Siegfried muttered out of surprise. Then, he asked, “Are you a princess of the Blanc Clan?”
“Yes, I am the Blanc Clan's princess.”
“Whoa…? I thought the Blanc Clan is extremely hostile to outsiders?”
“We are.”
“So why did you visit us?”
“I want warn you. Also, I want favor ask you.”
“Eh? Do you mean to warn us and ask a favor?”
“Yes,” Arnayan replied with a nod.
“What do you want to warn us about?”
“Live this place now as soon as possible.”
“Why?”
“The Arctic Pangea is a holey place. Outsiders die their lives here. If you value your life, hurry run now faster.”
“A hole place…?”
“And take with you me, too.”
“Take you with us? To the continent?”
“Yes, I ask you favor. Take with me you together to continent.”
“That’s not difficult, but… What do you mean by this is a holy place?”
“I no tell you that.”
“Why?”
“Because our clan is—”
It was then.
“Kyu? Owner punk!” Hamchi cried out.
Siegfried grimaced and replied, “Yeah, something’s coming, and it’s really fast.”
“It is! Kyuuu! There’s more than one! Quite a few are four-legged animals, too!”
“Are they the enemy?”
Arnayan heard their conversation and said, “You run away now.”
“Run away?”
“Father coming with kinsmen.”
“...!”
“Hurry run you must now.”
“But in this weather…”
“I help you,” Arnayan said. Then, she whistled with her fingers.
Whiiiing!
“Woooo!”
“Huff! Huff!”
“Huff! Woooo!”
Six large polar bears wearing animal hide armor appeared from the blizzard, and they were pulling a sled behind them.
“Why the hell are those polar bears so huge…?” Siegfried muttered in disbelief.
“These are called Urus,” Arnayan said.
“Do you mean Urusa[2]?”
“Hmm? What is Urusa? These children are Urus. Do they call them Urusa on continent?”
“N-No, forget about that. I was just saying something dumb…” Siegfried said in response, regretting what he said. Then, he asked, “Can we escape if we ride this?”
“Yes.”
“Alright, we are not here to fight, so let’s run for now,” Siegfried said with a nod. Then, he turned to the others and said, “What are you waiting for? Hop in!”
The party hopped onboard the sled pulled by the Urusas—no, Urus and zoomed through the snowy fields.
Two minutes later, a large muscular man on a sled pulled by eight wolves appeared behind them.
“Stop!” the muscular man shouted.
“He my father!”
“Father?”
“Yes!”
“Whoa…!”
“We must now run!” Arnayan exclaimed and pushed her polar bears even more.
Siegfried looked back and flashed his Rune of Insight at the large, muscular man.
[Nanuqsa]
[The ruler of the Arctic Pangea.]
[He is the chieftain of the Blanc Clan, and he is very strong.]
[He fell in love with a woman from the continent who was shipwrecked along with others, but she ended up leaving him to return to the continent.]
[This caused him to loathe the continent.]
[His time with his wife taught him to be fluent in the common language used on the continent.]

Shockingly, Arnayan’s father, Nanuqsa, was a powerful person who had already stepped into the realm of a Master.
***
“Woof! Woof!”
“Woof!”
“Woof! Woof! Woof!”
Nanuqsa had more than two hundred Blanc Kinsmen following behind him.
“Hyung-nim! That’s a Master!” Seung-Gu shouted, looking horrified.
“I know! We’re dead if he catches us!” Siegfried shouted in response.
“We are!”
“We need to go faster!” Siegfried told Arnayan.
They were up against a Master and two hundred other people.
Going up against such a powerful group of enemies would spell certain defeat for them.
In addition, Siegfried was not here to fight. He was here to investigate the strange occurrence happening at the center of the Arctic Pangea. Thus, it was wiser for him to run away and hide rather than clash with the natives head-on.
“You dareeee!”
Nanuqsa’s voice reverberated in the air, piercing through the howling winds.
“Not only did you step into these holy grounds, but you also abducted my daughter?! I’m going to rip you to shreds and kill you with my own two hands!”
“We aren’t abducting anyone! She came to us first and—”
“Silence!”
“...!”
“You Continentals are like that! All you do is spout venomous lies through your teeth!”
“Hey! I said we didn’t abduct her!”
“You will pay a heavy price for abducting my daughter! I will not grant you an easy death! I will castrate you before killing you!”
“S-Sir…? That sounds a bit too cruel—”
“Shoot them down!” Nanuqsa commanded his kinsmen to shoot right after threatening to castrate Siegfried and his comrades.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
The white awls struck the sled that Siegfried’s party was riding.
Shwik!
One of the awls struck Seung-Gu’s butt—again.
“Aaaaack! My butt! My buuuutt!” Seung-Gu cried out in agony while clutching his butt.
“Why does that guy’s butt keep getting new holes…?” Siegfried muttered while shaking his head in disbelief. Then, he placed down Shadow Hell to slow down those chasing after them.
Seuruk…! Seuruk…!
The Night Stalkers emerged from the ground as soon as Shadow Hell was placed down, and they stubbornly clung to the sleds of Siegfried’s pursuers.
“Shwiiiik! Shwik!”
“Shwiiik! Shwik! Shwik!”
“Shwik! Shwiiiik!”
Blue Hydras suddenly popped up from the ground covered by Shadow Hell and shot freezing breath at the pursuers.
“Oh?” Siegfried finally realized why the Despicable Hydra Set had the words "despicable hydra" attached to it.
It seemed that Yong Seol-Hwa’s class—the Dragon Blacksmith—managed to add the effect of summoning Hydras to the Debuff Master’s debuff fields using the Despicable Hydra Set.
In other words, Yong Seol-Hwa had not only crafted an armor set with high durability but also added an effect that would make the Debuff Master’s skill much more despicable and disgusting than it already was.
Perhaps that was the reason but the Blanc Kinsmen were shouting something in their language.
“$@***$%%@$@!”
“$%&*^$%%^******$%*****%***%***$%***$***@@@@!”
“&*^*&^%$@***@$@***@!”
Their sleds had slowed down so much that it seemed impossible to catch up to Siegfried’s party at this point.
The freezing breath of the Hydras was so powerful that it affected the Blanc Kinsmen even though they possessed extremely high water and frost resistance.
“Alright!” Siegfried exclaimed, delighted by the buff that the Despicable Hydra Set had given to Shadow Hell.
Unfortunately, the newly improved Shadow Hell was only effective against the kinsmen.
Their chieftain, Nanuqsa, was still in hot pursuit.
“Huh?” Siegfried muttered out of surprise upon noticing that the chieftain had not slowed down at all.
“Filthy Continentals!” Nanuqsa roared with rage. He was so close to the sled that it was only a matter of time before he caught up.
“I’m never going to forgive you!” Nanuqsa roared once again and jumped off of his sled.
‘No!’ Siegfried screamed inwardly at the sight. A huge fight would break out if Nanuqsa managed to land on their sled, and it would be the end of their escape.
‘I can’t use my gun. He might die… In that case…’
Siegfried threw his +13 Vanquisher’s Grasp and controlled it with Flying Sword.
“Ha! It’s futile!” Nanuqsa exclaimed with a scoff and twisted his body in the air to evade the +13 Vanquisher’s Grasp. However, Siegfried controlled his +13 Vanquisher’s Grasp with Flying Sword and struck Nanuqsa on the back with it.
Thud!
Nanuqsa lost his balance in mid-air and crashed into the snowy ground.
“Kyu!”
“Nice shot, hyung-nim!”
“That was awesome, Your Majesty!”
Hamchi, Seung-Gu, and Gringore could not hide their awe at what Siegfried did.
However, Nanuqsa immediately got back to his feet and started running after the sled.
“Where do you think you’re going?!”
“Kyuuu! He’s getting closer, owner punk!”
“H-Hyung-nim! He’s really fast!”
“Your Majesty! That man is incredibly fast!”
However, Siegfried paid no attention to what they were saying.
Why?
“H-Huh…?”
It was all because he could see that the sled driven by Arnayan was heading straight for a crevasse.
“E-Excuse me?! I know we’re in a pinch, but that’s just suicide! That’s a crevasse! We’re going to fall!”
“I know!”
“Y-Yet you’re still going there?!”
“Run from Father impossible!”
“S-So you choose to die together instead?!”
Whoosh!
As soon as Siegfried's screams echoed, the sled driven by Arnayan took to the air with great momentum. Unfortunately, the crevasse they were attempting to jump over was at least one hundred meters wide.
1. In Korean urban legends, women who died without being able to marry would roam around wearing pure white robes looking for a husband. ☜
2. This is a fatigue reliever medicine that became popular in Korea during the 90s. The product had a picture of a bear, but the word Urusa is actually short for Ursodeoxycholic Acid, which is a compound that improves liver function. ☜
