Danmachi- Hell’s Forge

Big jump

Big jump

As it turns out the reward for reporting a new species of monster was really damn good as even just this weak monster netted me a hundred thousand valis. Something about how it was a small price to pay if it helped even one adventurer in the future. Sounded like A grade bullshit to me but the money was good so whatever. I also may have neglected to tell them that I had collected a lot of the poison blood and further refined it to give to my favorite alchemist establishment.-

It didn't seem like it but being the first to unlock the uses of a monster was a huge achievement and boost to an alchemical familia like Miach's. The Dian Cecht familia had this strangle hold over the progress of alchemy because they had a deal with the guild and most of the big exploration familias at first pick of any new potential alchemical ingredients. This meant most achievements and boosts from new potions and medicines came to them while the smaller familias got scraps at best. Don't get me wrong these smaller alchemical familia weren't bad off since potions always were in high demand but limited supply but size wise that one familia had almost all the rest dwarfed.-

The Dian Cecht familia didn't however have a exclusivity deal with the Hestia familia like the Miach familia did so the guild could publish the new monsters information once it was done but couldn't give the Dian Cecht familia samples before I gave mine to Miach. It was a political thing that the guild did to try and please everyone and stop monopolies from showing up. So while it hadn't been said the guild definitely knew that I was going to be giving my affiliated alchemy familia a leg up on the rest.-

"We will do our best to utilize this oppurtunity to it's upmost!" Miach promised with an excited smile as I handed over the poison blood I had and the information on the monster I got if from.

"If you come up with anything interesting using that stuff and I expect to be the first you tell alright?" I said with a grin and he nodded seriously.

'Now then to get this update out of the way.' I thought as I headed back to the Hestia manor, felt weird to think of it that way but it fit so whatever.

"Damn son looking good! Not as high as I was hoping but it should be enough." I said with a wide smile as I looked at the sharp jump in stats.

"That puts you close to peak level three right?" Hestia asked and I nodded.

"Once my body adapts to these stats I should be able to go toe to toe with a peak level three or weak level four." I said proudly.

"What a monster." Daphne muttered but I ignored her.

"Him being strong is good for us though isn't it?" Cassandra asked the red head who couldn't really argue since that was very much true.

The stronger I as the captain was the more secure the future of the familia as the number of enemies capable of threatening us and surviving drops the stronger I got.

Just having the strength of a level four means that no familia without one would likely survive a clash with us. It was the same reason why Frey was considered nigh untouchable as with Ottar at level seven you'd need another adventurer at that same level of power to even qualify to fight "evenly". Obviously it wouldn't be an even match even if someone managed to level up to seven for the sheer fact that I didn't get the impression from Ottar after meeting him that he had let his strength stagnate.-

Quite the opposite in fact as he gave me this sense of sharpness like a weapon waiting to be unleashed at his enemies. Dude was intense as fuck and I was down for it, highly approve. Besides that he was surprisingly easy to get along with and understand, guy was a warrior through and through. The best part in my opinion is he didn't look at my level with disdain but rather looked at me as a fellow warrior and judged me by his standard, I stacked up well enough clearly that he seemed excited at the future me.-

Anyways you get the idea, stronger me=less dangerous enemies.

"Are you going to go back into the dungeon for another two weeks to max out the rest of your stats?" Bell asked and I shook my head.

"I'll be crafting for the next few days as my body adjusts before heading back into the dungeon." I said honestly.

"Speaking of crafting I noticed that both of them have custom made equipment, are we ever going to get stuff like that or are we gonna get left out?" Daphne asked bluntly.

"Feeling left out are we?" I teased.

"You know what I mean damnit!" She hissed annoyed.

"Haha~ You are such a treat to tease. You can relax though as I'll get around to you two eventually, at the moment though you aren't lacking in decent equipment. Plus I need some time to work out what would be a good fit for your builds." I said with a chuckle.

"Hmph" she snorted but didn't argue.

That was that then and things returned to normal after that. As I had said I was going to spend the next three days crafting though I purposefully neglected saying what I was making or why. See I was fairly confident that by the end of these three days i could fight the Goliath solo and win with just what I had now. The problem however was that I also knew that it would be a long and hard fight which I was admittedly not spec'd for. This meant I needed something to shorten the length of the fight to a length I would be more comfortable with.
