Chapter 383 - First Floor; Instant Death!
Khal, Darla, and Senior Lin followed Astro to the entrance of the dungeon while also ignoring the several stares on their skin from the many creatures that emitted either a presence of a Limit Breaker or Ascender Stage!
"Did you really have to do that? Now everyone is looking at us!" Senior Lin stepped closer to Khal as she asked in a lowered voice.
"If I would have not done it, things would have gotten only worse." Khal said nonchalantly and giving a quick sidelong glance at the woman on his side, he added, "Furthermore, now they will think twice before they try to do anything funny once we enter the dungeon. Remember? We are humans, ones from the 'weakest race' that is no better than cannon fodders."
"Huh? You mean..." Senior Lin's eyes widened by the realization and looked at Senior Du who was hiding behind a tree, looking toward their direction with a mixture of hatred, confusion, and fear.
"Yeah, I am pretty sure they have only invited us here to be their 'meat shield' and not because they needed our help in clearing the dungeon."
When Senior Lin heard what Khal was saying her complexion stiffened and slowly turned into anger before she closed her eyes and sighed, "It seems I have made a mistake again. I shouldn't have accepted this invitation."
"That is not right either." Khal shook his head and with a small smile, continued, "This is the perfect opportunity for us to show that we are not that weak."
"And how do you wish to show that?" Senior Lin asked, her delicate brows lowering into a tight frown.
"Well, isn't that clear already? I will demonstrate them a little from my power, but before that, I will let them struggle a little bit."
Worry flashed inside Senior Lin's eyes, but as the memory of Khal killing hundreds of Night Crawlers on the Limit Breaker Stage together with their king, a peak Ascender Stage existence, she knew Khal had the strength to accomplish what he just said.
Furthermore, when she remembered just how many Talent's he had and how strong he truly was, she could only sigh quietly, hoping he won't go over the line and do something he is not confident in enough.
On the other hand, Astro and Darla listened to their conversation in stupefied silence, wondering if what they have just heard was real or they have just simply hallucinated things.
Once the four were before the small entrance at the bottom of the cube tower, Astro cleared his throat gently and began to speak loudly, "Okay everyone, please gather here!"
Shortly, every creature stood around Astro and listened to what he was saying.
"And that is everything. Any questions?" Astro asked with a serious expression, his eyes sweeping through each and every being in front of him.
"Nothing? Perfect. Then let's enter the dungeon and remember everyone must obey my commands and work with each other or only you can blame yourself for dying a pathetic death."
Every creature nodded with a solemn expression, knowing that they will now enter a domain where several Ascender Stage creatures existed, each having the strength to kill any one of them just alone!
Watching as everyone began to move, Khal glanced at Darla and Senior Lin before he too started to walk toward the entrance, still ignoring the stares on him from the different creatures around him.
"Are you not nervous at all?" as Khal walked through the entrance and watched how the scenery around him changed into a frozen land, he looked at Darla and smiled.
"Why would I b-" Khal was ready to reply when suddenly his eyes narrowed and without hesitation picked Darla up and jumped backward.
"Wha-"
"Wh-"
"Don't fuc-"
Swish!
Several creatures on the front wished to say something when suddenly a white flash appeared in the air before severing their heads off from their shoulders without giving them the chance to even react!
"Huh? W-What happened? How did they die?" the remaining creatures watching as three of their comrades have died without having the chance to put up a fight halted dead in their tracks, their faces paling in a flash!
"W-What was that just now?" Darla's eyes widened as she watched how three Limit Breakers have just died right in front of her eyes, cold sweat oozing out of her forehead from fear.
Khal, on the other hand, remained solemn while his eyes slowly changed shape and color and stared into a specific direction in the sky. Without a question, he activated his Heaven's Eyes to see what kind of creature ambushed them just now.
"K-Khal? What are you doing?" watching as Khal suddenly put her down and raised his hand, summoning a bow into his hand Darla looked stupefied and confused, not knowing what he wished to do and achive.
Just now, the three creatures have died with no sign of where the attack came from, yet he wanted to do a counterattack? On whom?
However, instead of a reply Khal just simply grabbed the string on the bow and once a black arrow was formed between his fingers, he let the string go, letting the arrow zoom through the air with almost space-piercing speed!
Swish!
The air and even the ground trembled the moment Khal fired the black arrow shocking all the creatures behind him, including Senior Lin and Astro too, but even before they could have had the chance to react or say something appeared in the sky before crashing into the ground below with a powerful force!
BOOOM!
The ground shook and a small crater together with wide and long cracks formed below the thing that have just fallen from the sky, shocking creatures behind Khal to their very core.
It was not because they realized it was the creature that reaped those three Limit Breakers' lives with a single attack but because they felt that the beast had the presence of an Ascender before vanishing from its body completely!
What did this mean? It meant the human boy in front of them just one shot one killed a creature that was not only in the far distance high above in the sky among the dense clouds but one that was an entire Cultivation Stage above him!
He just killed an Ascender Stage beast with one single strike despite being only a Limit Breaker!
