Chapter 81 – Team Dosu

Dosu pulls back his sleeve, exposing a large metal plate with holes covering his forearm making it look thrice as thick before charging toward me.

I cloak my sword in lightning before swinging my katana which meets his arm plate.

As we clash an unpleasantly loud metal sound rings, damaging my ears, especially the left one while Dosu takes a high voltage of electricity and falls to the ground paralyzed at the moment.

While I take some damage from the exchange, the odds are now a bit more in my favor.

“Dosu!”

Kin throws her senbon forcing me to move away from him as my equilibrium is ruined by the damage to my ears.

Zaku laughs at my silly movement and explains how Dosu’s amplified sound from our metal clash ruptured my eardrum…

He doesn’t even realize that if I were still injured I wouldn’t be able to hear his explanation…

It took only a few moments for my ear to heal but the blood remains.

We are fighting in a small open area leading to the cave where Team Kakashi is, with us and Team Dosu on opposite ends.

I fumble my way in Zaku’s direction but he shoots a concentrated air blast in my direction.

I move sideways to avoid their straight-line projectiles entering the treeline for cover and using it to close the distance.

I thus go around the trees in the perimeters, making an arc towards their position.

Seeing my pathing between the trees Kin cuts me off my path by throwing multiple senbon.
I awkwardly jump back to avoid them, while looking lost and tumbling on the ground, heading away from the treeline which was providing cover.

“Hahaha so pathetic!!!”

By now Dosu is recovering and after struggling to stand up, he moves back to intercept me.

Thinking of our clearing as the numbers on a clock, the start had me and Dosu clash on the 6 mark and the rest of his team on the 12 mark, I've barely made it to the 9 mark.

“You!!”

I run towards Dosu intending to put him down once more, this time clashing right at the center.

My sword meets his arm once more as he swings from a crouched position and as the sound rings multiple senbon hit my body.

My body disperses into smoke. 

As they were busy distracted by the shadow clone I left when I was behind cover from the trees I had quietly moved behind their position.

I body-flicker behind Kin who was staring at my clone and grab onto her, locking both her arms and neck with one of my palms touching her face.

Time for Act 2 to begin.

“I have your friend hostage, leave us alone or I’ll snap her neck.”

“Hahahaha” 
Dosu and Zaku both laugh in my face.

“Do you really think we care about her?”(Dosu)

“Dosu, Zaku, help!”(Kin)

“Just die.”(Zaku)

Zaku shoots his air blast in our direction and I have to jump high into the air to evade.

Fine…

As I cover their vision I twist Kin’s neck, leaving her lying down on the ground with eyes open facing our direction motionless.

“Ha… you went and killed her, didn't think you Konoha babies had the spine.”

"Regretting it now?"

"Not one bit, she didn't have what it took to be a ninja."

“No honor at all, you didn’t care for her one bit. You dare to call yourself a ninja with that mouth, you guys are nothing more than tools.”

“Hahaha, what is a ninja in the end if not a tool, a disposable pawn? From the start our only goal was to accomplish our mission, to kill Sasuke.”

“And how is that going for you… are you not a pawn as well?”

“Ha ha, we…”

At this moment a large malevolent swirl of chakra flows from the cave Team Kakashi is hiding in.

Sasuke stands up, his curse mark unleashed as he renews his determination to do whatever it takes to get revenge on his brother.

“What is going on in here?”(Sasuke)

Shino replies… I had almost forgotten he was here, sadly he lost a large number of his bugs facing Orochimaru and needs several days to breed them back and regain is full combat abilities.

“Team Dosu, sent by Orochimaru to kill you.”(Shino)

“Ohhh~ the first step to achieving my vengeance.”(Sasuke)

Chakra swirls around Sasuke, an enormous amount like I’ve never seen before. Dosu face is sweating and trembling, realizing how powerful Sasuke is and how a confrontation against him would play out.

“You get it now Dosu, you aren’t worth being a tool, you are nothing more than a frog, being sent by a large snake to feed a baby snake.”

“Dosu, this half-dead bastard is nothing to be scared of!”(Zaku)

“Stop Zaku!! Don’t you understand?!”(Dosu)

“I’ll take care of them all in one fell swoop!!
“[Super Sonic Slicing Wave]”(Zaku)

An enormous blast of air is fired leaving a mark on the ground until it reaches the cave where Naruto, Sasuke and Shino were in.

But once the dust settles they aren’t in sight.

Sasuke had grabbed Naruto and jumped away as Shino followed.

Sasuke turns to Zaku and shoots multiple fireballs in his direction which he counters with his airwaves.

As the fire is put out, shurikens are revealed from within each fireball Sasuke had shot and they continue their trajectory and hit Zaku.

Sasuke moves behind Zaku as he tries to protect his vitals from the projectiles and reels from the pain as multiple shurikens dig into his arms.

Sasuke, same as in the plot grabs Zaku's arms from behind and breaks them in extreme violence, leaving Zaku helpless on the ground in pain.

Sasuke looks at Dosu and starts walking in his direction slowly, his rage unabated.

Wait… Sakura was supposed to hug him from behind and stop him now… EWWWW!!

*Sigh*

The things I do for the plot…

I jump towards Sasuke and grab his arm.

He tries to push away from me but my iron grip doesn't let him.

“What are you doing? Let go of me!”(Sasuke)

“Sasuke… enough with the clown tricks.”

"Let go of me or I-"

I control the senjutsu chakra in his body and send it all back to his mark, returning him to normal.

Sasuke falls down on his knee in less than three seconds.

“How??!!”(Sasuke)

“You were given nothing but a wimpy madman’s little toy, don't get ahead of yourself.”

Dosu takes his scroll from inside his cloak

“Sasuke, we can’t defeat you the way you are now.”(Dosu)

He places the scroll on the ground and speaks softly.

“This is our fee for settling this… Please let us withdraw from here.”(Dosu)

“Leave! without a third member your exam is over, don’t make us regret letting you live.” I say.

Dosu grabs Zaku and turns to Kin.

“Leave her, you don't deserve anything from her.”

Dosu walks away while carrying Zaku on his shoulder.

“Yami, thanks for the help, take the scroll they le-” Shino says.

“We didn’t need your help…” Sasuke interrupts Shino.

“I just did what I wanted, good luck with the rest of the exam.”

I leave behind the scroll and take the real prize, Kin with me.
