Chapter 57 – Curiosity

Done sharing most of what I know the matter naturally shifts into what we can do from here and more importantly what can we do to get stronger for the important moments.

As we discussed earlier, the Chunni exams will be a pivotal moment that presents many opportunities before, during, and right after it to alter to story significantly for the better.
Besides Orochimaru and Hiruzen, two kage-level influences it is also our last chance to influence Sasuke before he goes rogue.
There is also Kisame and Itachi's visit which is what prompts Sasuke to leave in the first place.

As we talked about before leaving Tanzaku Quarters, Tsunade will be taking Sakura and Hinata as her disciples to train but we decided to first let Sakura and Hinata to Konoha so they could deliver the official mission report and say goodbye to their families back in Konoha before being away for a couple of months.

Anko still refused to tell me her plan for my training but assured me I’d be having plenty of 1 on 1 time with her and that I would surely love it…

“We need a name Yami?” Anko says.

“What?”

“For your ~~Harem~~ I mean, for this coincidentally all female barring you group of women united in trying to change this vision…” Anko says.

“Yeah Yami, get us a cool name like the Akatsuki or the 7 women of the God-King” Ino says.

“We’re only 6 so far Ino, and I doubt we’re stopping at 6 at this rate…” Tsunade says.

“Why am I being included already???” 
Shizune complained but when everyone just stared at her she couldn’t help but shy back. She would have hidden behind Tonton if he wasn't busy pulling our carriage.

I think of several names, Amatsukami or something like that sounds too edgy for my taste. Akatsuki is actually a very smart hint for their masterplan when you remember that ‘Aka==red’ and the ‘tsuki==moon’ clearly refer to wanting to make the moon red with a Sharingan jutsu.

I’d rather settle for a word others don’t know...
Looking back at how most of the girls ended up with a Greek mythology named bloodline gives me some good inspiration.
I’m not sure if there is a reason behind each bloodline name or if was just a convenient categorization drawn from concepts I know but I decided to follow the trend.

I don’t like Olympus very much, but how about...

“Erebus.”

“Erebus, sounds ominous... what is it about?” Sakura asks.

“That weird old mythology, it’s the name of one of their creators and personifies darkness and is often associated with hell.”

“Why name it after hell and not heaven?” Ino asks.

“Olympus just doesn’t roll the same way.”

Besides... The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
And I predict we will need to do some evil to accomplish our goals in the future.

“Sounds good enough, for lack of a better option” 

Anko ends our talk on that subject.

“That reminds me Yami, of that extra knowledge you got from the vision is there anything useful?”

“Most of it is hard to extract usefulness from, it comes in random concepts in many areas like math, engineering, science, biology or physics.”

“Wait, did you just say biology?” Shizune perks up.

“Yeah, I got a bunch of knowledge about the functioning of the human body, some diseases and syndromes in a bunch of random areas too, from psychology to genetics.”

“We have psychologists back in Konoha but we’ve never heard of genetics…”

“That's what is named the study of bloodlines and genes."
"Since we got some time I guess I should share what I can remember from biology and genetics and how my somewhat ‘immortality’ works.”

I’m thinking I might start calling it Reverse-living Jutsu. 

I went over most of the knowledge I had of biology with Tsunade and Shizune while the rest of the girls except Anko listened in with rapt attention.

They especially liked the knowledge I had about genetics though I’ve only barely been able to bind any of this knowledge with the existence of chakra.

During our entire journey back I’ve slowly worked on the girl's hormones.

The girls were extremely on board with stopping their hormonal cycles.
No unwanted pregnancies, no menstruation, and fewer mood swings were all extremely valuable advantages that made life as a female ninja more comfortable and safer.

I briefly went over the concept of hormones using Melanin for sleep and how their feminine hormones control pregnancy and menstruation.

I also came clean and explained how manipulating hormones is what I passed for ‘Potential Release’ as well as how I can tell clones apart but leave out the part about how hormones can affect our mental state.

Part of me feels a bit guilty thinking about manipulating them at the start but at this point, I’m sure everyone is satisfied and their feelings for me are true and not just a hormone-induced crush.

Besides I’d like to think love and human feeling aren’t just hormone swings but rather than fight against hormones on that topic I’d rather just let them remain online and let us deliberately go from there.

We’re now almost at Konoha and it would be Tsunade’s last turn for a while.

“Enough! I can’t stand her anymore.“

We had been going at it for a couple of hours already when Tsunade got up from me and left our small tent.

She went outside and brought back a half-naked Shizune, hanging from her shirt's scruff as if she were a naughty cat.

“I’ve had enough of your constant voyeuring Shizune, we’re making you a woman before you develop any more nasty habits. It’s already bad enough to have Hinata with her Byakugan active at any moment and Ino’s soul spying on us.”
