Chapter 170 - I’m Still Strong (4)

Chapter 170: I’m Still Strong (4)

“As far as I know, you used a staff as an ice-type wizard, but this time you have come looking very violent with that club.”

When he said that, I glanced at the club in my hand and opened my mouth, shrugging as if it was not a big deal.

“Well, I really like clubbing people. I think this is my true calling, but I’ve chosen the wrong job.”

Of course, my true calling was a wizard, or more specifically, an Ice-type wizard,, but I lied to him casually.

“Really? That’s too bad. However, from my perspective, being an ice-type wizard is your true calling. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for you to gain such fame and recognition.”

Of course, while conversing with this guy, I was evaluating his intentions.

I felt that this guy was not hostile to me.

However, I didn’t let down my guard because that was no reason for me not to be hostile to him. Anyway, this guy forcibly brought me to this strange place, which seemed very unusual because it was blocked in all directions for some reason.

Of course, I was fully confident of defeating anybody in any circumstances.

So, I raised my head and opened my mouth proudly.

“Good. I don’t like the way you are treating your guest like this, but let me listen to what you want to say. But I want you to tell me as soon as possible. I’m quite busy.”

I had two options to deal with this guy.

The first option was to attack him right away, like I used to.

The second option was to properly evaluate the situation I was in.

This time I chose the second option.

The fact that this guy summoned me to a dark place with no exit indicated that he clearly had some bad intentions. But I still didn’t know where I was, so I didn’t want to resolve his misunderstanding right away.

According to this man, he already knew that I was participating in the “Catch Up with Yourself” event.

And that’s why he dared to act so arrogantly to me who was widely known as a powerful individual across the world, not just Korea. Clearly he knew that I had to start from scratch from level 0, so he thought he could easily force me to submit.

Anyway, I decided to check out the situation while responding to him because I was far from weak, even without being my previous level 600 and possessing Blink with zero cooldown.

Anyway, I urged this arrogant and proud guy to get to the point and stop beating around the bush.

At my strong urging, he immediately opened his mouth.

“Ah, you are currently participating in the “Catch Up With Yourself’ event, right? I wonder if you are aiming to achieve the top rankings. If so, I’m really sorry for that.”

“It is true that I’m participating in the event. But you don’t have to be sorry.”

“Man, are you giving up already?”

“Well…”

Of course, I didn’t give up. But I was confident enough to stay calm and relaxed at the moment.

However, I didn’t tell him that.

Instead, I asked, “Hmm. You probably didn’t call me to talk about this kind of trivial thing. I just don’t know why you’re not getting to the point.”

Of course, I didn’t feel bad about it because if this guy found it hard to bring up the main topic quickly, it meant he was also feeling tense and uncomfortable in this situation.

At that moment, as if my pressure paid off, this man hardened his expression and opened his mouth with a low voice.

“Good. but before I get to the main point, let me tell you something about this place. This place is called ‘Death Ring’. I constructed it with my trait, and it is impossible to get out of it until one of us dies first.”

“Oh, I see.”

Contrary to his grandiose explanation, I was not that impressed because this place didn’t look very impressive, and it seemed easy to exit too.

However, since I did not intend to interrupt him, I did not say anything.

He continued, “join hands with me. I will never hurt you or cause you to incur a loss. I can give you a lot more gains than you think!”

“Hmm.”

Honestly, I was expecting that kind of proposal from him because of his first reaction to me.

At first glance, he wasn’t hostile to me at all, but he sometimes showed good intentions to me while we were conversing.

At that moment, I wondered if I had become overly famous because first I found myself confronting Pablo with the very special trait ‘Penetrating Wall, and now this guy with his trait, “Death Ring’. But I barely knew anything about this trait though.

I opened my eyes with a sharp glare.

“It’s very easy for me to join hands with you. It’s not a big deal. But I don’t like that you made your offer in such a place. What’s more, I don’t know if you have enough power to actually entice me.”

Joining the guild? Joining hands with him? Actually, that was very easy.

In fact, when Pablo suggested I join the Lucia Guild, I was willing to accept his offer.

Had it not been for the condition that I could not leave the guild voluntarily, I would have joined.

But this man in front of me seemed to have no ties with the Lucia Guild.

Why? Because he would not have been unaware of what happened between me and Pablo if he had been a member of the Lucia Guild.

Anyway, I responded casually in order to identify who this guy was.

As expected, he opened his mouth, making a gleeful expression.

“Of course, I have enough power to do so. Asirante, I will give you and your family and friends a perfect American dream that you have never seen before if you so wish!”

At that moment, one word stood out to me. It was the American Dream he casually mentioned.

From that, I immediately realized that he belonged to one of the strong groups that dominated ‘Revival Legend’ in America.

It was very hard for even the Myongjin Group, one of the top five business groups in Korea, to gather specific information about the three powerful American groups, but they could easily find out that the Holdridge Group, the Shaipe Group and the US Government were dominating the game in America.

In other words, this guy was from one of the three major US groups.

At the moment, I thought it was good that I didn’t mention the Lucia Guild or Pablo to him.

If I had asked him whether he knew the Lucia Guild, it would certainly have led to huge trouble.

When I found out this man’s identity to some extent, I felt much more relieved.

Of course, I didn’t express my feelings, though I didn’t let down my guard at all because I still had some doubts about his motivations.

“Hmm. American dream…”

First of all, I repeated that word as if to show I was moved by it.

In fact, I thought it wasn’t that bad for me to join hands with him, for the United States currently had the most information about ‘Revival Legend’, no matter what.

However, if there was anything that bothered me, it was the repetition of the Lucia Guild situation. I didn’t have any intention of joining hands with this guy, no matter how enticing his offer might be, if I was not allowed to withdraw from the guild voluntarily.

In other words, I had no intention of binding myself without any good reason.

“Trust me. If you can help me, or if you join hands with us, we can take control of not only Shaipe, but the whole world beyond America!”

Now he mentioned Shaipe.

It seemed that he liked my reaction quite a bit, given that he identified himself by mentioning one of the three major US players of Revival Legend.

As if he had no intention of putting out empty words, he immediately opened his mouth, pointing at me, “Invite him to a party. And use the Sign of Oath.”

[You have received an invitation to a party from Edwin using the Sign of Oath.]
