Chapter 233: Palkus’ Journey! 28
"Ladies and gentlemen! We welcome every single one of you to Elder Palkus' attempt to become the Alchemy king." Within the same hall where Palkus passed his grand test, the event that everybody was waiting for was finally happening.
5000 people were once again clustered inside the room but the previous 50$ for the entry changed to a whopping 1000$ and the seats were still full.
The people who couldn't afford to buy tickets were still watching everything that was about to happen from the projections spread all around the city.
The hype this event received was many times that of any previous event. As humble and lowkey as he was, Palkus was still a very prominent figure in the dwarfelven continent. His deeds were slowly but surely known by everybody and his amazing feats as well as his personality were loved by everybody.
Knowing that he was going to try his chances at becoming the alchemy king, everybody was cheering for him.
The hall was slightly different than how Palkus once remembered it. The area where he once performed was stretched with the help of space experts.
Now, it allowed for two alchemists to comfortably perform their magic with all the equipment they needed, including the furnaces, at ease.
"Nice to meet you, young man." Right in front of Palkus and taking the seat close to the wall, was the alchemist king, a humble-looking young man with long white hair, elven ears, and emerald eyes.
"It's an honor to meet the alchemist king I've heard so much about." Palkus greeted back.
"Oh hoho, so humble. If anything, I should be honored to meet the one who managed to beat that old dwarf. If anything, my fate is similar to his, after all, back when the Anomaly was still running around, we were both beaten to the ground." The alchemist king stated.
"And I heard you were even more of an anomaly than him." He added, looking straight into Palkus' eyes.
"I wouldn't dare say so, if anything, I'm just more privileged." Palkus replied, checking out the equipment around him.
"Oh? More privileged, huh?" hearing Palkus' words made the alchemist king wonder. What could possibly surpass the privilege of a previous emperor?
Such things were kept for later, there was something more important at hand. The exam.
Everybody was itching to see Palkus' performance once again and the results of this long awaited contest.
Who would come out a winner and who would come out a loser? Would Palkus go on to achieve even more than he already did or would he be stalled after so long and have to try again after 3 years?
"You may begin!" Elder White, who was given the right to surveil this contest, announced, prompting the guests and those outside to focus in silence and for the two contestants to get serious.
*Fwshh* *Fwshh*
The contest was once again open to both participants, meaning they could use whatever materials and whatever techniques they had to make any pill and the best one will win.
That's all—no complex rules, nothing. This was a respectable contest between two deserving participants and it would remain so. Both participants knew what they had to do, and it was to prove that they were better than the other.
Thus, Palkus called upon the strings of laws, which were strengthened after his body got more used to them the past three years.
This time, he wasn't palying around, he had a pill in mind, something crazy that nobody has been able to make ever—and he planned to give it to three people.
Yes, he was going to make not one but 3 pills. Something that was possible in alchemy but for a mortal alchemist, it was quite hard.
The pill he was going to make was an immortality pill. An immortality similar if not superior to that of the vampires, where if one were to consume it, their lifespan would become endless and their regeneration would be simply ridiculous.
This pill was something Palkus made himself, although it was the first time he was going to make it, but his knowledge allowed him to be so confident that he would gamble this chance to make it.
The reason why it was so special was because one of the ingredients to make the pill was his own blood.
This wasn't bad, strange, or anything similar, no, it was the opposite. Using his own blood to make the immortality pill could even be considered cheating.
Palkus was not but a simple gomen, and we know how ridiculous the gomen as a race were currently.
They had the special properties of almost all the races living in Portalia and some of the clans had properties of races who were in other parts of the galaxy after they managed to fight them inside the prison realm.
Palkus himself was a chaos gomen, a variant gomen genetically modified by Draco himself. His genes and what shaped his body made him into a being with endless potential and his race as a gomen further amplified that, but what was more important was that he had immortality in his very blood.
And not only that, he also had the blood of the phoenixes, which meant rebirth after death.
Thus…
*Fwshhh* *Fwshh*
The materials were burned and the beautiful alchemy technique Palkus was so famous for was once again played in front of the eyes of countless beings from all around the city watching the contest for this very reason.
The alchemist king, who was also doing his deed, glanced over at Palkus and smiled while sighing and shaking his head.
He had already lost.
"And… Stop!" Elder White with excitement threatening to burst out of his face stopped the contest after 30 minutes had passed, but by now, the batch of 6 pills and 4 pills on the other side were magnificiently flying for the world to see.
This contest would be recorded and broadcast for the world to see and would remain as a part of Portalia's history.
*BOOOOM*
Crackles and thunder could be heard above the skies of the dawrfelven continent, congratulating Palkus for managing to form something never seen before.
And the winner was, of course…
"Elder Palkus!"
