Chapter 168: Ascension to Celestialhood!
In the past 25 years, the world has not seen any major events, not after its most promising talents were ascending.
Everybody went on with their lives and those who schemed did so in silence.
The most peaceful 25 years of Portalia passed with everybody being happy with their lives.
The six continents did find a change unlike any other as they progressed faster.
The Draco effect was real, as once he managed to conquer them, they worked as one united force. There wasn't something unique to only a single continent now, no. The technology and knowledge of every continent were shared.
Constant traffic has been created by the continents and the empire within the forest has become the headquarters of this connected force. Draco didn't conquer the continents just to do so. He could use them so why just stop having them under his feet?
For now, many of Draco's clones, including his main body, remained on either Portalia or The Cursed Prison; however, this day, every single one of them disappeared aside from 4.
David, Marco, The Researcher, and one who was left in the prison realm.
The elders and those who had previous connections with Draco were keeping their eyes and ears open for any information regarding him. Some because of good intentions, some bad, and some saw it as hope.
It had been 25 years. This period of time is enough for some geniuses to reach the EX-Rank.
The moonlight, also known as Abdo, who was the young man 30 years or so ago who vowed to kill Draco, was already a King of Essence by now, with the help of whatever entity was supporting him throughout this period.
Elfina, on the other hand, was getting crazier by the day. Not too long ago, Draco's achievements were no longer secret; his name resounded through Portalia like thunder, many fans grew to love and support him, many others hated him, and children heard scary and heroic stories of his that made them want to become like him when they grew up.
Indeed, Draco was now the Supreme Figure of Portalia, and on the other hand, he was the monster that parents used to make their children behave.
Why was that? It was because not only his achievements within the prison were known, but even those he made when he was nothing but an EX-Rank, and why he did so.
The way he conquered the forest, the Great Empire of Devania and the six continents made the great minds of Portalia shiver. All of this just to form the ultimate form of a species? And who had such conditions as mere Stages 2 and 3? killing a celestial as a mere stage 4?
This is completely and utterly ridiculous; this is borderline disgusting. Was the reaction of the influential powerhouses with millions of years of knowledge and experience.
All of this served to make Elfina even more sure that Draco just had enough of her and abandoned her for good.
The promises he made, the sweet time they passed, the kind words he said, the compliments he gave, and the sweet hugs they shared—all of this was gone.
Didn't he say he would protect her? Didn't he say he would always be here for her? Wasn't this what he said the first day? Why lie to her if he was going to hurt her that way? Why? Just...
Why?
Elfina left her job and locked herself within the estate, where all the good memories with her beloved were resurfacing with a single sound, look, or smell. This didn't serve for anything other than making her crazier by the day.
The cute and always-smiling, shy Elfina was no longer her. There was nothing but a haggard with of an elf; her beautiful skin started darkening, veins appeared on the side of her face, her golden eyes dimmed, her hair had streaks of grey and dark, and she just... didn't feel well.
The maids and butlers had a shared rule: never go upstairs, no matter what. The last one to dare do this was long gone; she was cut into pieces limb by limb with Elfina's own hands. The screams that day made them fear even looking in that direction.
They didn't know what happened or what was going on, but one thing they were sure of was that there was something way off about their mistress, and it wasn't simple depression; she was far stronger than she should be.
Throughout the years, she got weirder and weirder, and this day marked the 25th year that the master was gone, and this only served to make her reach that last point of no return.
Why was that? It was because this was the day the phenomenon of Ascension was seen after thousands of years.
This meant that an origin emperor ascended to become a celestial, and right now, only a single person is guaranteed to ascend first.
The dark skies of the prison parted for a golden fervor to descend upon the realm.
All around the wide world of Portalia, bursts of celebrations echoed as a golden pillar surrounded by abyss-like contour pierced the sky, seen by every single living being.
[Draco Valenstein Has Successfully Ascended To Become A Respectable Celestial Of Portalia! Welcome The Celestial of Chaos!]
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Right after the announcement, a loud scream was heard from the estate. The butlers and maids felt their lives come to an end as a shiver ran down their spines.
This was the day the station was wiped out of existence; not even the elders could stop the abomination Draco formed through simple manipulation.
Back on Portalia, everybody celebrated, young and old, happy that their world was graced with another protector; however, those truly knowledgeable could not sleep at night.
What... was chaos? This was the question that ran through their mind and kept them awake, They devoured book after book for years but could never find an answer after that day. They understood the meaning, but this was not a law they've heard of.
Time, space, fate, origin, even bloodlines—all of this they could somehow understand if Draco was to have authority over, but chaos?
This had greater implications than their great minds could predict.
