Chapter 101 A Test?
101 A Test?
The New Cadets face immediately changed as their senses flared powerfully informing them of what was happening and they all felt it, the sure possibility of Death.
But even though they knew survival chance was close to nil, their body automatically shifted backward causing a slight distortion of air around the space as they all retreated to about 10 meters from where they formerly stood.
Zeras looked at the phantom of the gigantic palm that was rapidly closing towards them and his uniform blew rapidly but he didn't move a single inch from where he stood, his emotionless eye was looking at the phantom, not at all containing a single ripple.
BOOOOOM
The palm landed on Zeras with full force continuing towards the cadets at the back they quickly shut their eyes but even after five seconds, they still felt nothing.
Slowly opening their eyes, in front of them was a young man who was straightening his clothes while Officer Spartanburg was looking at the Cadet curiously.
'Just as I thought..' Zeras thought to himself as he straightened his rough clothes before finally looking at Officer Spartanburg.
Why didn't he move a single inch or even show the slightest panic? Because Zeras knew it was all a lie.
When Officer Spartanburg's aura changed, it looked like he was going to kill them which he appeared to have done but he knew even though his aura truly flared and it was sinister. There wasn't a single ounce of killing intent present. It was just Officer Spartanburg's aura.
Secondly, looking at the phantom of the palm, while it truly appeared powerful and fearful, Zeras quickly identified it was just an ordinary blast of Mana. There was no physical force in that palm phantom.
It would have been hard to quickly notice, but when he thought about it, there truly was no reason why Officer Spartanburg would want to kill them. Besides, even if he truly wanted to, there's no reason to make such a ruckus as he's In the EIA base. With cultivation at the Cosmic Rank stage, a small flick of his hands could have sent all of their intestines splashing in the opposite wall.
Sending out such a gigantic palm phantom was like killing a cockroach with a Nuclear weapon. Completely unreasonable. That was why he already knew it was just a show.
CLAP.CLAP.CLAP.CLAP.
"As expected of you Spartanburg, you truly almost sent their souls away from their body..." A voice rang out as the door behind Officer Spartanburg which he was formerly trying to open suddenly opened and a middle-aged man exited from it...
The middle-aged man dressed in an EIA uniform, dark-skinned, with an especially long face with lanky body, clapped continuously as he looked at the group of Cadets with a smile on his face...
"I hope I didn't disappoint Officer Arroyo," Officer Spartanburg said as he put down his outstretched palm and looked at the man beside him.
"Oh, you did perfectly well, Spartan, and seems against all odds, there's truly a single one who managed to pass the test..." Arroyo said as he looked dead straight at Zeras, his eyes looking intently at him curiously as he saw everything in Zeras, his heart rate, his sensory hairs, and his pulse, and didn't notice a single ripple on them.
'This boy is a different brand... Not a single sign of fear of death at all...'
"You can all stand up back now young ones. It was just a simple test..." Arroyo said as he looked at the group of New cadets who quickly got a hold of themselves and hurriedly stood up in embarrassment.
"I'm very sorry if you have been frightened, but it's because we need a single New Interdimensional combat student of the paratrooper division. There are almost 15 of you, but we only needed one. One that is the bravest, calm, a good thinker and analyzer, we decided to set up a test to choose which of you is qualified to be that one, and that was the test. And it seems we also have the single one who managed to pass it...
So you guys can all head to your proper division and begin your mission, sorry for the delay. And also note, there'll be no alarm so far you're here in the base, so you can all rest assured..."
Officer Spartanburg slowly led the remaining cadets out of the place leaving only Zeras and Officer Arroyo.
"This young one, Zeras Celestria, has met the Officer..." Zeras said as he bowed respectfully to Officer Arroyo.
"Ah, there's no need for such excessive formalities, come on. Let's get on with the mission, we don't have all the time in the world..." Arroyo placed his hands on Zera's shoulder as he dragged him towards the door.

Zeras entered the place, a large round hall, with an especially large table right at its center where four EIA officers could be seen gathered around as their eyes were lit in absolute focus looking at an image on the huge table.
"Hey, guys. I just found us about our pilot. Cool huh..." Arroyo said as he pushed Zeras forward towards the group who all looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"Um... Good day, officers..." Zeras said as he stood there shocked for a while before quickly paying his respect.
"Are you prepared to die, boy..." A deep voice rang out from one of the officers. A man, 2 metres, toxically muscular with a beards.
"Um,..." How was he supposed to answer the question? Who is ready to die?
"Hey, take it easy, Halo. Stop scaring the little guy." Another Officer said, this one lanky and wearing a spectacle on his face.
"Since you've found the boy, then bring him over. Let's get going with the plan..." A male officer, with a single-eye mask which covered his left eye, said as he waved at him telling him to come over to his side...
Zeras arrived at the man's side as he also looked at the image on the table and couldn't help but be surprised.
An Advanced Techno-Beta grade Map Piece!!! n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The table in front of Zeras couldn't be called a table. Instead, it was a blue holographic, depicting different images, with the EIA base where they were currently shown while other different areas of Planet Humbad could be seen in it.
This was an advanced Planetary level map that could show the entire area of an entire planet.
But that wasn't amazing at all. What was shocking about this piece of technology Is that it keeps watch over every single living entity within the entire planet, depicting them in tiny dots.
With this piece of technology, the automatic number of every living thing present in every particular area in the entire Humban Planet could be kept tracked. "I suppose you know what this piece of equipment is kid..." Officer Emmaus, the man in a spectacle, said to him as he tapped on the EIA base area depicted on the map causing it to rapidly expand over the table.
"This is where we are..." Officer Emmaus said to him as Zeras looked at the area shown where five tiny blue dots could be seen.
'So that's us..." Zeras said numbed.
With this piece of equipment, the absolute location of everything and anything will be completely known by the EIA and there's nothing like hiding at all.
"Since you can see the piece is true...Then let's get over to the real task..."
