Chapter 47: Chaos
Chapter 47: Chaos
The moment Tang Can heard that Lu Hai Miao was a member of the Zong Xiang Gang, he immediately pounced onto her and pinned her to the ground, his words barely escaping his gritted teeth, “You guys were the ones that spread the news about the Dragon God Crystals?”
Startled, Lu Hai Miao took a moment before she responded in anger, “Someone had commissioned us!”
Her face turned red as she pushed Tang Can away and smoothed out her clothes, with a bitter smile, she continued, “We didn’t know that the information was real!”
Tang Can was visibly furious, in his eyes, Lu Hai Miao was one of the culprits.
“Calm down, we barely managed to escape!” Jiang Tian Sheng stared at Tang Can, “Do you want to let the general’s sacrifice go to waste?”
“No!”
Tang Can struggled to stand up, pointing at the entrance to the valley as he spoke, “My father died! For me! He sacrificed himself! Why didn’t I die instead?”
His expression was wretched, it seemed vicious, but also somewhat sad.
Lu Hai Miao stared at him with tears in her eyes as well.
With a sigh, Jiang Tian Sheng tried to convince him, “Do you think that I’m not upset? The general had died, we should be the most upset! Our mission now is to spread the news of this incident and find the culprit behind this all, only then can we take our revenge.”
“How will we find them? We don’t even know who they are and what exactly they did. These hundred thousand people just went crazy and basically killed themselves!” Tang Can shouted.
“No! There must be a clue!” Lu Hai Miao was certain, her gaze turning dark, “It was a pity that my younger brother had died, perhaps we could’ve found something since he had absorbed one of the Dragon God Crystals.”
“Dragon God Crystals?”
Jiang Tian Sheng’s expression paused as his hand reached into his clothing, he could feel a crystal in his hand.
It was the Dragon God Crystal.
The sixth Dragon God crystal.
He had carried it with him ever since he had gotten it, rather than handing it over to the princes.
It seems that he had made the right choice.
Jiang Tian Sheng spoke slowly to the two people that were staring at him, “I have a Dragon God Crystal here, will it be useful?”
Tang Can immediately ran over, holding the crystal in his hands as his purple eyes resonated.
It was the absolute technique of the Tang sect: Purple Pupils.
He carefully inspected the Dragon God Crystal as if he could see something.
“Then, where should we head to? South Village?” Lu Hai Miao asked, she had decided to stick with these two people.
“No! We definitely cannot go to South Village. Ning Wei Wu that fox is secretly in cahoots with the Black River Cult, there might be a conspiracy brewing there. We need to return to the capital as soon as possible since the princes are already most likely dead, we have to report to the imperial court and the emperor immediately.”
Lu Hai Miao nodded, slowly supporting herself up after surveying the surroundings carefully, she walked over towards Tang Can, “Hey! Can you see anything?”
Tang Can shook his head as his face turned pale yet again, his expression cold, “I can’t see anything, not even from this Dragon God Crystal. I had tested myself countless times earlier, I’m sure that I wasn’t poisoned, there’s no way that the technique that I’ve cultivated will fail me.”
He gripped the Dragon God Crystal tightly as he turned towards the entrance of the valley, thinking to himself: Father, I will definitely avenge you!
By this time, Jiang Tian Sheng had gotten up as well, “Let us leave first. We should get out of here as fast as we can.”
After looking at each other, they started making their way towards the capital.
But they were not the only ones to have escaped.
There were people that weren’t present by the time the great fight had broken out, people that didn’t arrive in time or people who were digging in the other parts of the valley. However, a sizable number of people had witnessed the events in the valley and were also slightly affected by the ‘Blood Demon’s Sky Tango Fragrance’.
But they were able to maintain or regain their sanity very quickly.
Once they had noticed the severity of the situation, the wretched sights of the dead, and the silhouettes of the Blood Spirits’ members, they fled from the terrifying valley unhesitantly.
The thousands of people quickly spread the news of the disaster in the valley, not realising that their actions were subtly influenced.
In just three days, the entire nation of Yan imploded.
The Li clan.
“What? Xing Mang is dead? What kind of joke are you pulling? They were all killed after going into the valley in search of treasure? Investigate it! You must find the culprit!” The clan head of the Li family stared at Liu Xing Mang’s head as he roared.
After everyone had left the hall, his gaze dimmed as he walked to the side, muttering to himself, “It seems like it’s time for the old ancestor to leave his seclusion.”
Moon Fire sect.
Le Wu You’s gaze was calm as he stared at Le Qing Qing’s head that was placed before him, and then his eyes shifted towards the two disciples kneeling on the ground, “I instructed you to search for the person, and yet, you bring me their head?”
Before the two disciples could even plead for their lives, he released the power of the Sky Reaching realm and pulverised the two disciples into dust.
“It seems like now’s the time to leave the mountains to teach those little children a lesson.”
Zong Xiang Gang.
“Go and plead for the gang leader to leave his seclusion! The great young master and the great young lady are missing, I fear their lives are at risk!”
The Wang clan, the Du clan, the Mo Shan sect……
The great influential forces that had lost their members in the valley started to rouse from their slumber, seeking to find the culprit behind the tragedy.
People were filled with fear and anger as they searched for clues after seeing the heads that covered the entire valley, not wanting to miss a single thing.
The imperial court also became aware of this situation.
They were shocked into disbelief.
When they first heard of this incident, they assumed that it was a joke that their subordinates were pulling.
And then, reports of confirmation came from a number of their sources.
The imperial court imploded.
After all, the disappearance and deaths of the four princes were not something that they could’ve hidden. It wasn’t just the boisterous Murong Jue, even the wealthy second-generation youths he had brought along were all dead.
Murong Zhan was the prodigy of the Murong clan, and he had died without even leaving a body behind. This was enough to send the entire Murong clan into a frenzy, and even the great ancestor, Murong Dao, coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Murong Jing’s maternal family was at the forefront of Yan’s trade, and Murong Jing was the only connection between the chamber of commerce and the imperial court. Now that it had snapped, the chamber of commerce started searching for the culprit in the entirety of Yan.
Murong Xing was adored by the army, and after hearing news of his death, the entire army activated their soldiers and horses, seemingly as if they were on the brink of starting a war.
But that wasn’t the worst.
The worst was the South Village King.
The relationship between the South Village King and the Black River cult was exposed even before the great battle, moreover, it was done by his own subordinates.
It became an irrefutable fact that the person behind the criminal organisation that had committed all kinds of crimes in Yan in the past few years was Ning Wei Wu, the South Village King.
But that wasn’t the final straw.
As the great influential forces started their own investigations, the secret activities of the South Village King were completely exposed.
His movements were considered to be quite discreet, but he was far too anxious as he was entering seclusion this time and with the careless acts of his own subordinates, his actions were completely revealed.
He was conscripting soldiers and buying horses, training his armies, bribing officials and investigating all sorts of affairs, all of his actions had shown the greed buried deep in his heart.
He wanted to start an uprising!
The South Village King, Ning Wei Wu, wanted to start a revolution.
The entire South Village had become the base camp of the South Village army and the polluted land of the Black River Cult, and after Ning Wei Wu had entered his seclusion after benefitting from the remnant, the generals under his command safeguarded South Village.
The general public had assumed that it was done out of fear of assassination, but now, it was clear that the South Village King was planning to start a rebellion after leaving his seclusion!
Murong Tong’s face was reddened from anger as he directly insulted Ning Wei Wu’s wild ambitions, readying to gather his soldiers to suppress him.
And as storm clouds lurked over the cities and the country fell into chaos, Murong Lin was quietly sitting in the Faith Palace, fishing.
“I’m just saying, can’t the bunch of you buy smarter fish? I’m catching one every time I cast my rod, I don’t even have the time to hook my baits, this is such a drag!” Murong Lin cursed.
The group of servants stood silently beside him, afraid to say anything.
Staring at the fish swimming in the pond, Murong Lin pierced the fish king to death with his rod.
Staring at the fish that was still struggling on his rod, he spoke, “You are after all, but a small fish in a pond, you won’t be able to make any waves no matter how much you struggle.”’
