Chapter 82 Gamma Waves, Rewards
'You will do.' This was Erian's thought as he replied. "Touching me is equivalent to being executed by the Institute. Why not wait for the one grace period to end? On the 24th, we shall battle. The loser shall lose his life and of course all of his points, what do you say?"
"I don't think I heard that right? A 3-star, low-grade talent Prime is actually challenging me to a duel. What makes you think you can defeat me a 3-star mid-grade Dual Super-cell Titan?"
Virdon chuckled darkly and his eyes squinted as he stared mockingly at the Prime standing before him. The young man was so weak right now that the rippling of his muscles and the Nuclear energy explosion from his titan transformation could incinerate him but from what he was sensing, Erian didn't show any signs of fear.
He had come here with the intention of threatening the Prime, giving him a scare while stealing off points just as the seniors did to them when they were still freshmen, ignorant to the rules of the academy. This set Prime seems to have read the rules quite thoroughly, but this made things only slightly difficult.
"Did you think I wouldn't dare kill you because of the academy's rules? There are ways to eliminate you quietly without the knowledge of the academy."
Virdon's sneer chilled the heart of anyone who saw. Especially his Jaws that expanded past their hinges. The other student had long since placed a distance between them and David. Not wanting to be caught in the crossfire. They couldn't help but be shocked at Erian's challenge while some just shook their head, thinking Erian was too arrogant. He could have just given the points to the second-year senior instead of planning his one demise.
"But do you dare risk it!?" Erian equally sneered. He was well aware that there wasn't an absolute rule present in this world and the academy rules were more like a soft deterrent, as there are ways to overcome it but it will surely come at a prize not many people are willing to pay. For now, Erain was confident he wasn't worth the price.
The intense wave of radiation rippling off Virdon was starting to penetrate his body, affecting his muscles and slowing down his cell process which started to make him weak.
Erian was about to leave to avoid the radiation when he immediately paused. 'Waves with strong penetrating power that can pass through the skin instantly but without much killing power. Is this... Gamma wave?'
His eyes lit up as he sensed Virdon's gamma rays killing off and affecting the skin cells in his body from the sharpenss of frequency. The rate was very slow, and due to the resistance Erian's body had developed over time, it would take months for just the gamma wave to completely affect his cells.
Erian immediately closed his eyes and in the blink of an eye, a blood red vein with the shape of a thunder glowed within his mind, containing massive nuclear energy with rippling off waves of radiation. One of the waves now seemed so familiar and as Erian reached out to it, the wave was like a lubed bearing, slippery to his hold and resisting against him, but Erian was patient. Like a pervert coaxing a beautiful girl, he tempted the wave with nuclear energy until he was finally able to grasp hold of it.
In that instant, Erian's body shook slightly and the air around hum started to change! Waves of gamma radiation exploded out from him like flood, rippling though his skin and muscles until they covered a distance of ten meters.
Gordon's expression changed and his face was pale white in disbelief. "Y-you c-can use gamma wave now?"
He didn't believe it! It took him four months to master gamma wave and even then, that was still very quick amongst the other 3-star talented. Even 5-star students would still take about a week to be able to use any of the three main waves! But when had this guy joined the academy that he was able to use the most hardest of the three waves to master!?
Erian opened his eyes and the world seem to have changed. He could see different waves of energy rippling and weaving through each other at different frequencies. The wave emitted from him was quite weak compared to the senior before him, but it was only a matter of time.
Erian blinked and the waves dissipated he smiled at the Virdon. "It's all thanks to you senior, it would have taken me more time if you hadn't intervened."
Virdon's expression was entirely ugly at this point he left out a loud snort. "Don't be so cocky. You're still useless. You can't learn nuclear techniques or Combat tactics without beta wave and alpha wave. Hmph!"
Not wanting to help Erian discover the other two waves, Virdon immediately turned around to leave. He had gone here in hopes of gaining something, it turned out his opponent gained from him instead.
At that moment, the holo-watch of Erian and the entire new students rang.
(Ding!)
(Congratulations to Prime Erian for being the first person to sense one of the waves, 30,000 blood points have been granted. Keep up the good work.)
There was a moment of silence amongst the crowds of students before they erupted into an uproar!
"How much!?"
"Thirty-thousand Blood points!?"
"Oh! Goodness! Why wasn't I the first!!?"
"No one said there was this kind of reward!!!"
The students started complaining. If the knew there was this type of reward, no one would have attended the lecture even if it is free! And would have used the time in meditation!
Erian himself was momentarily astounded. He had read through the manuals but didn't see anything about this! Just like that, he had earned thirty thousand blood points through luck, there was undoubtedly more to be attained.
Since he was the first, he could also be the second and also the third! Erian quickly boarded the vehicle, heading home in a hurry. Gamma waves are the hardest of the three main waves, beta waves and alpha waves are just around the corner.
