Chapter 61 Most Impossible Situation!
There was this saying 'Success is usually 99% work and 1% luck' Erian had utilised all of his strength to bring out 500% percent efficiency, but even then, it wasn't enough to help him succeed in the transition. As the Geneticist said, it wasn't about having impressive endurance, or high tolerance to pain because no matter how stubborn you might be, it was only a matter of time before the body goes into overload and the entire genetic structure of the body collapses.
Only if Erian knew soaking himself in radiation would help him, he would have done it in a heartbeat!
In a flash, the crimson world collapsed like a puff/of smoke as though it was an illusion. Just as he came to, he didn't feel any pain, making him sigh heavily in relief but in the next instant, the pain came rushing in like a flood.
His entire body was soon racked in intense pain but strangely enough, Erian didn't let out a single scream. It wasn't that his lungs had been destroyed by the transition. No, he was genuinely able to tolerate this much pain. It was as though his body had gotten used to the pain that it was now bearable. Although it still felt as though his soul was being ripped apart, the torment was manageable. But Erian had an inkling it wasn't nearly to enough to successfully pass experiment, Erian's eyes were filled with sorrow and he couldn't help but wonder if this was how he was going to die. Unlike the last times' instant death, this was one was going to be a slow and painful.
Suddenly, a large screen appeared within his field of vision.
[Warning! (1): A catalytic substance has entered the body.]
[Warning!!(2): Genetic structure of the host is been altered by the foreign catalyst, providing a new pathway for genetic mutation.]
[Warning!!! (3): Host's gene is too weak to complete. Reinforce the cells with nuclear energy before genetic limit or halt the transition immediately otherwise, the mutation may fail!!!]
[Notice: Spend Ten million nuclear points to speed up the evolution process to a Titan.] <Error 23-01F!!!>
[Reason: Transition not completed due to Insufficient energy points.]
[-100,000. Spend 8,900,000 energy points to complete evolution. ]<Error 23-01F!>
[-100,000. Spend 8,800,000 energy points to complete evolution.] <Error 23-01F!>
[-100,000. Spend 8,700,000 energy points to complete evolution.] <Error 23-01F!> ...

[Host's genetic structure has been overloaded by the catalyst and had reached the gene limit, DNA structure is collapsi-]
[-100,000. Spend 300,000 nuclear energy points to complete evolution.]
Erian was instantly stunned by the notification and his body froze from shock, but his mind wasn't at all frozen as he literally growled 'Yes'
"Ding!"
It was as though a bomb had gone off in his head, making his body quiver rapidly as though a massive jolt of electricity had been dumped within his body.
The evolutionary pod was barely able to keep his body from moving, the bolt keeping it locked to the ground was gradually loosening from the intense shaking.
All of a sudden, his entire movements halted and the rigorous tremor stopped. Erian's body laid limply within the pod with his head loosely hanging by the side as though he had died but the slight snoring sound that escaped his lips proved he was still very much alive.
This time, there were no screaming sounds from the underground laboratory. The students had all gone quiet, which means they had also been successful in their transition. The evolution process involves the destruction and reconstruction of the entire bodily cells, placing intense strain on the body. Therefore, the body needed all the rest it could get for the body to get used to the deep change that stemmed from the very core of the body.
"Professor, the process has. been completed and there appears to be no casualty this time, congratulations." At an unknown time, The third-year students had walked into the laboratory, staring at the report on the large transparent screen, they were thoroughly impressed.
Geneticist Park-Jeun glanced sideways at the group. "Xavion, Martha, you all are here."
He then indifferently took back his gaze, focusing on the holographic tablet before him.
"We apologise for barging in. We just wanted to know if there isn't any problem you might require our assistance to handle." Xavion's soothing voice spoke in a remorseful manner, making the scientist let out a snort.
"Don't be so quick in congratulating me. Four hundred recruits evolved without a hitch but there is this one student in pod 367."
"Oh, did he fail?" Xavion asked and nodded towards the junior scientist while the group of seven moved much closer to inspect the large screen containing the information about the recruits.
"Not quite. I've studied genetics for more than 30 years and successfully evolved over 5000 students with no more than a few dozen failures. This is the first time I've witnessed such a phenomenon." The elderly man shook his head with a frown on his face.
This immediately piqued the interest of the entire seven group. Since it was strange even to an experienced man such as this, then the matter was going to be interesting.
"Statistics show he would undoubtedly fail since, during the transition process, his body was lacking fortification due to insufficient nuclear energy. Just a while ago, his body had reached the genetic limit and was about to collapse when he suddenly succeeded." The elderly man explained the peculiar situation.
The white haired young man in the group tilted his head in disbelief. "That's impossible. I'm no scientist, but without nuclear energy to reinforce the cells by at least ten times, the body will collapse in the first five to ten minutes, no one has ever survived that using the body alone."
Raven giggled and her red hair fluttered as she said. "Are you saying without needing nuclear energy he used his normal body to evolve? If that is possible, then ordinary humans would only need to use strengthening serums to strengthen their bodies and succeed in evolving without the use of nuclear energy."
Geneticist Park-Jeun frown deepened as he felt even his words didn't make sense to him.
Seeing the man struggling expression, Xavion mediated. "It's probably a mistake in the algorithm. It's been a few decades therefore its bound to be mistaken at some point."
Sending a warning look towards Raven, he continued. "Since the transition has been completed, we will take it from here, professor. I trust there wouldn't be an issue with the payment."
Coming to, the professor's indifference demeanor returned and he scoffed. Without saying another word, he walked out with his group of white-robed junior students.
