Black Tortoise God of War

Chapter 6

C6 – Super Genius

Everyone was astounded, their shock palpable, and disbelief clouded their vision.

“Could Chu Yangxiang have started his training early?”

“How else could he be so formidable?”

Spectators watched as Chu Yangxiang and Chu Mingxiang sparred, both employing the South Bear Fist technique.

Chu Yangxiang’s movements were noticeably less fluid; after all, he had only begun learning the South Bear Fist that very morning, and couldn’t match Chu Mingxiang’s years of practice.

Yet, Chu Yangxiang was undaunted, possessing an edge that Chu Mingxiang lacked. His physique was robust, surpassing even that of a Profound Warrior Two-star.

As Chu Yangxiang and Chu Mingxiang exchanged blows, Chu Yangxiang landed solid hits on Chu Mingxiang’s body.

The sound of their physical combat resonated, thrilling the onlookers.

To everyone’s amazement, Chu Yangxiang was far from being on the defensive. He resembled an enraged bear, his limbs thrashing with formidable force.

The new disciples on the sidelines gaped at the combatants, as stunned as ducks caught by the neck, their astonishment vocal. They couldn’t fathom how Chu Yangxiang had managed to reach Profound Warrior Two-star without the Chu Family Courtyard’s resources or the Chu Family’s Cultivation And Martial Skills. It was a bewildering and inexplicable phenomenon.

Their shock was shared by the Chu Family’s lower-tier Profound Warriors.

Most were merely Profound Warrior One-star, and they were acutely aware of the vast journey and immense resources required to advance to Profound Warrior Two-star.

The People Of Chu Family were well-acquainted with Chu Yangxiang’s circumstances. Sometimes struggling for a full meal, he had astonishingly achieved the rank of Profound Warrior Two-star, a fact that undermined their self-assurance.

“Chu Yangxiang can’t possibly be a true Profound Warrior Two-star, can he?”

“Who can say? Based on his current bout with Chu Mingxiang, he certainly seems to be at that level.”

“Damn, our family expended so many resources just to reach Profound Warrior One-star. How on earth did he manage to cultivate to Profound Warrior Two-star?”

They were disheartened, yet Chu Mingxiang felt even more so.

After exchanging over ten punches, he began to feel a dull ache where Chu Yangxiang had struck him, which was starting to impede his use of cultivation and martial skills, filling him with dread.

Chu Yangxiang, on the other hand, remained as ferocious as ever, exuding a fearless determination. Chu Mingxiang no longer dared to engage him in direct combat.

He had to rely on his mastery of Fist Skill to prevail. But as their bout continued, Chu Yangxiang’s Fist Skill grew increasingly refined, wielding the South Bear Fist with an unexpected potency.

His dodges and feints became swifter, his kicks stronger, and his footwork more skilled. It was becoming less and less likely for Chu Mingxiang to gain the upper hand against Chu Yangxiang.

It was as though he was inadvertently coaching Chu Yangxiang.

Chu Mingxiang was utterly frustrated. “Good heavens, I’m practically his coach. I thought this move would defeat you.”

Two thuds echoed as Chu Mingxiang stumbled back seven or eight steps, his eyes wide with shock. He gazed at Chu Yangxiang, internally screaming, “How can this be?”

Chu Yangxiang’s punch had met his squarely. Then, with a swift motion, Chu Yangxiang’s left fist followed like a shadow, striking Chu Mingxiang’s right rib and sending him reeling back. The pain in his rib was excruciating, almost as if it had fractured.

How could he so precisely seize the moment? How could he so accurately exploit a weakness and shatter the desperate strike of the South Bear Fist?

He had trained diligently for over a year to reach his current level. How had this young upstart achieved such skill? He hadn’t noticed anything when they sparred yesterday. Could it be that Chu Yangxiang had deliberately concealed his true strength?

Knowing he was outmatched, Chu Mingxiang wouldn’t foolishly seek further defeat. With a cold laugh, he said, “Chu Yangxiang, don’t get ahead of yourself. By leaving Chu Huixiang in such a state, his father and brother will never let this slide. His brother is in charge of the medicinal farm.”

Chu Yangxiang felt a sudden jolt in his heart. His own parents worked at the medicinal farm. His intent had been solely on revenge, without considering the consequences.

Chu Yangxiang felt no thrill of victory; instead, after Chu Mingxiang’s words, he clenched his fists tighter. His current strength was insufficient to alter the dire situation before him.

If only he were a Profound Warrior Five-star, his parents wouldn’t have to endure such hardships.

A fierce longing surged within him: “I need more strength.”

“Let them seek revenge on me. If they dare, I will surely avenge myself,” Chu Yangxiang said, his expression turning grim.

Once the crowd had dispersed, Chu Huixiang, propped up by several others, departed.

Those who remained regarded Chu Yangxiang with a mix of awe and fear. Despite his frail appearance, the boy possessed a startling burst of power. He had achieved the rank of Profound Warrior Two-star even before setting foot in the Chu Family Courtyard.

The Fifth Elder observed everything but remained silent. After the other children had left, he hastened to report to the family patriarch.

Upon hearing the account of events, Chu Qingyong’s eyes shone with excitement. “Chu Yangxiang managed to defeat Chu Huixiang and Chu Mingxiang on his first attempt at harnessing Profound Qi?”

Indeed, if that were the case, he was a Super Genius, the likes of which the Chu Family hadn’t seen in many years. A Super Genius could elevate the entire clan’s status, a true blessing for the family.

“He only started learning the South Bear Fist today, and within half an hour, he had generated Profound Power,” the Fifth Elder explained with enthusiasm.

Chu Qingyong’s face lit up with excitement. “How could he possibly defeat a Profound Warrior One-star and Two-star?”

The Fifth Elder grinned. “He possesses a Special Corporeity.”

A Special Corporeity was a unique constitution that endowed one with extraordinary abilities.

Chu Qingyong whispered to himself, his voice tinged with excitement, “We’ll keep this matter confidential for now and observe how it unfolds.”

On his way home, Chu Yangxiang encountered several of the Chu Family’s butchers carting barrels filled with Demonic Beast blood. They were heading toward the slaughterhouse.

A jolt of realization struck Chu Yangxiang; he remembered the Martial God Heavenly Technique mentioned that Demonic Beast blood was a source of energy he could absorb. He approached and inquired, “Uncle, what are you planning to do with all this Demonic Beast blood?”

Just two days ago, nobody would have paid any attention to him because he was the poorest member of the Chu Family.

Yesterday’s test results were the talk of Zhenhai City. Individuals with Two-star talent were seen as future masters whom others would admire. Chu Yangxiang possessed such potential, and his politeness pleased the men around him. “We have to dispose of this Demonic Beast blood,” they said.

Chu Yangxiang’s eyes sparkled with excitement. He eagerly inquired, “Could I have this discarded blood?”
