Black Tortoise God of War

Chapter 33

C33 – Heaven Smashing Bash

Chu Yangxiang leaped into the turtle-shaped depression, activating the Martial God Heavenly Technique. A surge of incredibly potent energy rushed toward him, its intensity surpassing that of the family-reared savage bull’s Beast Blood by more than twentyfold, and dwarfing the energy of an ordinary Demonic Beast’s blood by over ten times.

The energy snaked along the tortoise-shell patterns, each no larger than a fingernail, and swiftly coalesced beneath Chu Yangxiang’s skin. The patterns on his body gradually shifted from yellow-green to a vibrant green.

As the Martial God Heavenly Technique operated autonomously, Chu Yangxiang delved into the mysteries of the Heaven Smashing Bash. “Why speak of the passage of millennia when the Tortoise And Snake entwine in harmony? My body, clear as crystal, unmarked, can shatter the azure sky and roam freely.”

Chu Yangxiang meticulously unraveled the intricacies of the Heaven Smashing Bash, seeking guidance from the Heavenly Martial Arts whenever he encountered something beyond his grasp. Eventually, he grasped the essence of the Heaven Smashing Bash—a martial skill derived from the Martial God Heavenly Technique, which required its support to focus its energy into a pronounced spike, delivering a formidable strike to an adversary.

Should Chu Yangxiang perfect the Heaven Smashing Bash, every inch of his body would become a formidable weapon, leaving no opportunity for his opponents to exploit.

Such an impressive martial art.

For three days and nights, Chu Yangxiang immersed himself in understanding the technique. Subtle yet unmistakable sounds emanated from his body as the yellow-green hue of his skin transformed into a true, flawless green, reminiscent of exquisite jade.

Chu Yangxiang had finally ascended to the rank of Martial Warrior Four-star.

Emerging from the turtle-shaped depression, he retrieved a treasured sword from the Nine Horns Xuanwu Cauldron. A flick of his finger produced a resonant whistle; such was the immense power behind his touch. He flicked the blade, and it swayed abruptly before snapping cleanly in two—a feat impossible without at least 500 kilograms of force. This meant that Chu Yangxiang’s strength had reached a staggering minimum of 1,100 kilograms.

Chu Yangxiang channeled all his strength into his fist, following the technique of the Heaven Smashing Bash. The energy within his body began to slowly flow towards his right fist.

His right fist took on the appearance of emerald, as if sculpted from the finest jade, with clear, fingernail-sized, turtle shell-like patterns. He was in the process of channeling energy when it abruptly ceased.

Undeterred, Chu Yangxiang once again directed all his energy, invoking the Martial God Heavenly Technique, and focused it into his fist.

However, the flow of energy vanished suddenly.

This was Chu Yangxiang’s first attempt at cultivating the Heaven Smashing Bash, and his body was still unaccustomed to the energy, which was now significantly more potent than before.

Chu Yangxiang persisted, experimenting over and over. The cave lit up with flashes of emerald light.

By the fiftieth attempt, the green hue of Chu Yangxiang’s fist had faded considerably. This meant that he could only execute fifty full-powered strikes with the Martial God Heavenly Technique before his energy was depleted.

Chu Yangxiang settled into the turtle-shaped depression, activating the Martial God Heavenly Technique. The energy in his blood began to surge through his body once more.

He decided to train within the blood pit to conserve the energy stored in his body.

While absorbing energy from the Iron Back Tortoise’s blood, Chu Yangxiang simultaneously concentrated his own energy into his fist.

Eventually, his fist sported a tangible, turtle shell-like protrusion, gleaming with a bright green light, reminiscent of jade, and strikingly beautiful.

Tianwu watched Chu Yangxiang with a smile, wielding a plain sword and striking down at Chu Yangxiang’s fist.

The sword met Chu Yangxiang’s luminous, jade-like fist with a resounding clang. Chu Yangxiang’s fist remained unshaken, and the sword failed to leave even a white mark on it.

Once again, the sword was broken.

Chu Yangxiang’s spirits soared. The Sharp Saber, designed to cut swiftly and powerfully, could slice through gold and jade. Yet, it hadn’t inflicted the slightest damage on his fist, attesting to its extraordinary hardness.

With such a punch, he could surely shatter stone; his fist was indeed a formidable weapon.

Chu Yangxiang once again directed the Heaven Martial Divine Cultivation Skill into his fist. After over three hundred attempts, he finally achieved success.

Now, Chu Yangxiang’s cultivation was limited to an area no larger than his fist, which thrilled him to no end.

He threw his right fist with all his might against the mountain wall. The wall remained unscathed, while the recoil sent Chu Yangxiang stumbling back more than ten steps before he collapsed to the ground.

The Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise burst into laughter, spinning around on the ground like a real tortoise. “This is hilarious. You really thought you could break the mountain wall? You’re far too naive.”

“Not even the Profound Emperor or Profound Lord experts could break a single stone here.”

Chu Yangxiang looked sullen. “Heaven Martial, why didn’t you tell me sooner? I took a beating for nothing.”

The Heaven Martial chuckled heartily. “The stones that were broken were mere ordinary stones, and besides, you never asked me.”

Feeling resigned, Chu Yangxiang scolded the Heaven Martial, “Enough laughing. Let’s get on with our training.”

The Heaven Martial continued to laugh and pulled out a Big Stick. “I’ve increased my speed this time. It’s comparable to a Profound Master Five-star going all out. Watch yourself.”

The Big Stick came at Chu Yangxiang one after another.

Initially, Chu Yangxiang was able to dodge, but as the Big Stick’s momentum built, it seemed to move faster and faster, relentlessly striking Chu Yangxiang’s body.

Chu Yangxiang couldn’t fathom why the Martial God Heavenly Technique was ineffective when Heaven Martial struck him. The attack left a long, red welt on his skin.

Chu Yangxiang managed to evade only five hundred blows; seven hundred landed on him, marking his body with a series of red welts.

“Heaven Martial, go easy on me, it really hurts,” Chu Yangxiang complained as he made his way to the pit and swiftly leaped inside.

Inside the pit, he began to channel the Martial God Heavenly Technique, absorbing the energy around him while simultaneously practicing his Heaven Smashing Bash. His mastery over the energy flow of the Martial God Heavenly Technique grew increasingly adept.

As Chu Yangxiang leaped into action, he was simultaneously cultivating and swearing, “Damn it, I’m never training like this again—it’s just too painful.”

Two hours later, Chu Yangxiang emerged as if he had completely forgotten the agony, standing tall and proud before Tianwu, “Tianwu, let’s go another round.”

Every two hours, Chu Yangxiang would endure a beating from Tianwu. Yet with each session, he managed to dodge an additional fifty to eighty strikes compared to his previous attempts.

By dawn, Chu Yangxiang had successfully evaded one thousand one hundred of the one thousand two hundred strikes unleashed by the Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise.

The Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise burst into laughter, extending its claw to give a thumbs-up. “Kid, you’ve done well.”

Chu Yangxiang grinned, boasting confidently, “Naturally, I’m a once-in-ten-thousand-years genius.”

His cultivation had firmly reached the Martial Warrior Four-star level. He had mastered the Heaven Smashing Bash technique, and his strength had soared to over one hundred kilograms. He could now evade the rapid attacks of a Profound Warrior Five-star. It was time for him to head to At The Top of Xuanwu and challenge a Demonic Beast to hone his skills.

Chu Yangxiang prepared the Iron Back Tortoise, slicing off a hefty chunk of its meat and skewering it onto his Sharp Saber to create a massive kebab, weighing approximately five kilograms of Demonic Beast meat.

He then set about roasting the meat. Once sated, he planned to seek out challengers desiring to test their mettle against a Demonic Beast.

The glowing embers of the fire kissed the Iron Back Tortoise meat, wafting a tantalizing aroma. Chu Yangxiang meticulously seasoned the meat with an array of spices.

For days, Chu Yangxiang had subsisted on Pills, Beast Blood, crystals, and medicinal herbs, devoid of any culinary delights.

The seductive scent of the Demonic Beast meat made his mouth water uncontrollably.

Finally, the golden Demonic Beast meat was perfectly roasted. He savored a mouthful of the delectable meat, which was crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, rich yet not overly fatty—it was simply scrumptious.

Demonic Beast meat is the ultimate sustenance for Martial Cultivators. Each morning, the Chu Family ensures that a hearty meal of this meat is provided for their Profound Warriors. Among these beasts, the Demonic Beast ranks as the most basic, paling in comparison to the formidable Iron Back Tortoise.

Chu Yangxiang devoured nearly five kilograms of Demonic Beast meat with ravenous gusto. Following his hearty meal, he belched contentedly and made his way to the stream for a refreshing drink of spring water. The sensation of his pores opening up across his body was blissfully satisfying.

It was time for him to venture out and hunt Demonic Beasts.

Chu Yangxiang ascended the mountain, climbing the vines with purpose. The early morning sun bathed him in its warm glow, dampening his green robe with the morning dew.

Soon, Chu Yangxiang reached the cliff’s edge. Looking up, he was met with the sight of a Demonic Wolf, as large as a boar, perched atop the cliff, its fur a striking shade of blood-red.

Chu Yangxiang was taken aback by the sight. The Demonic Wolf had been waiting for him with a patience he couldn’t fathom. He wondered about the level of cultivation required for such steadfast determination.

Luckily, there was only one Demonic Wolf, presenting Chu Yangxiang with the perfect opportunity to test his mettle.

The Red-furred Demonic Wolf’s eyes sparkled with excitement upon spotting Chu Yangxiang. It licked its lips with a two-foot-long, blood-red tongue, drooling in anticipation.

With a vigorous shake of its long red fur, a cloud of dust billowed around it.

The wolf’s eyes shone with joy, as if it knew its days of effort were about to pay off. It seemed to convey a message to Chu Yangxiang: “Today, you will not escape.”
