Black Tortoise God of War

Chapter 30

C30 – The Furious Black Panther Profound Waaior Group

Lian Ji hurried back to the cave and was met with the sight of Bao Lie gravely wounded, his blood gushing like a fountain.

Upon assessing Bao Lie’s injuries, Lian Ji realized the grim truth: Bao Lie was beyond saving.

With a fixed gaze, Bao Lie implored Lian Ji, “Uncle, you must avenge me.”

Bao Lie was not one to die with his eyes closed, especially not in a fair fight. But he had underestimated Chu Yangxiang, treating him as a mere subordinate. Who could have predicted Chu Yangxiang’s treachery?

Chu Yangxiang had struck from the shadows, leaving Bao Lie in this dire state. How could he possibly rest in peace?

“Hold on, Bao Lie. You’re going to be okay,” Lian Ji bellowed, his eyes nearly bulging with intensity.

With a wry smile, Bao Lie responded, “Uncle, I know it’s over for me. There’s no need for comfort. At dawn, release the messenger pigeon to inform my father. You must capture Chu Yangxiang and Cut To Pieces, to avenge me.”

With those final words, Bao Lie passed away.

Lian Ji let out a heart-wrenching cry as tears cascaded down his cheeks.

“Young Commander!” the other nine Profound Warriors called out in anguish.

The loss of eleven Profound Warriors was devastating, but the death of the Young Commander struck an even deeper blow. How could they face returning without him?

The Black Panther Profound Warrior Group had suffered an inconceivable loss at the hands of a mere Three-star Profound Warrior. Their hearts seethed with rage.

Wiping the tears from his face, Lian Ji’s expression hardened with a fierce resolve. “Brothers, our only path to survival is to kill Chu Yangxiang. Otherwise, our commander will surely tear us apart. We cannot let Chu Yangxiang get away.”

“Brothers, our lives hinge on taking down Chu Yangxiang,” he affirmed.

A Seven-star Profound Warrior looked to Lian Ji and declared, “The Second Commander, none of us are cowards. We will follow your lead.”

Lian Ji’s expression grew icy. “Firstly, we must safeguard the Young Commander’s body from the Demonic Beasts. Secondly, we must seal off the valley exits to prevent Chu Yangxiang’s escape. We must deliver Chu Yangxiang’s head to our commander.”

Lian Ji, known for his brusque demeanor, began to make arrangements with a newfound seriousness.

Inside the Nine Horns Xuanwu Cauldron, Chu Yangxiang’s expression was grave. Slaying Bao Lie was a critical part of his strategy.

The Black Panther Profound Warrior Group had targeted him for their own gain. He knew he had to inflict pain upon them to make them realize the grave mistake they had made in attempting to kill him.

Over the years, the Black Panther Profound Warrior Group had experienced too much success, leading them to believe there was nothing in the world they couldn’t achieve.

Lian Ji’s strategy was sound. With ten men guarding the entrance, it seemed impossible for anyone to leave the valley.

Every ten steps, a Profound Warrior stood watch, securing the valley’s exit. As Lian Ji made his arrangements, he remained acutely aware of any activity within the valley.

At the darkest hour of the night, Chu Yangxiang moved stealthily towards the southernmost Profound Warrior, who was beginning to doze off after hours of vigilant duty.

Seizing the cover of darkness, Chu Yangxiang approached like a swift breeze and his Big Halberd pierced the Profound Warrior’s body. Quickly, he retreated back into the shadows of the pond.

The remaining Profound Warriors converged on the south. Gazing upon their fallen comrade, a chill ran through many of them.

Chu Yangxiang had transformed from prey to predator, a phantom-like presence silently claiming their lives one by one.

Lian Ji, confronted with the sight of a gaping wound in the chest of a fallen warrior, was overcome with an expression of excruciating pain. His hair and beard bristled as he bellowed towards the pond, “Chu Yangxiang, if you dare, come out and face me! What kind of hero skulks in the shadows?”

With a faint smile, Chu Yangxiang replied, “You know full well I’m no match for you, yet you challenge me to a fight. Isn’t that just asking for death?”

He slipped away quietly, heading northward out of the valley.

Guided by Tianwu, even in the pitch-black dawn, he could see clearly. This clarity was a gift of Tianwu’s enveloping Spiritual Power.

“Maintain your vigilance, everyone. I’m departing now.”

Chu Yangxiang slipped away from the valley in silence.

As noon approached, Black Panther received a pigeon-delivered message from Hyphosis Mountain.

Upon reading the letter, his face contorted with emotion, his hand clutching the paper shook violently, and his other hand gripped the armrest of his chair.

Tears glistened in his eyes as he let out a deep, anguished howl, “My son, your death was so tragic.”

In a burst of fury, he snapped the rosewood chair’s armrest. Fixing his gaze on Hyphosis Mountain, he declared, “The Black Panther Profound Warrior Group has assembled a force of 240. We march to Hyphosis Mountain together.”

“Chu Yangxiang, I vow to never rest until I have avenged you.”

The Third Commander, upon receiving the letter from the First Commander, was struck dumb.

“Eleven Profound Warriors, Luo Yufei, and the Young Commander have fallen. We request immediate support from the group.”

The Third Commander’s mind reeled as if struck by a sledgehammer. Who could have foreseen that attempting to take down Chu Yangxiang, a Profound Warrior Six-star, would bring such devastating losses to the Black Panther Profound Warrior Group?

He struggled to comprehend how Chu Yangxiang could be so formidable.

Even for a Profound Master Two-star, such a feat would be a challenge.

It was no wonder the leader was so visibly distraught, his tears flowing freely. His most beloved, Bao Lie, had been slain. The Third Commander found it inconceivable that someone with only three months of training could overcome a Profound Warrior Five-star. Could Chu Yangxiang, with the strength of a Profound Warrior Six-star, truly have achieved such a feat?

Was this the unfolding of some dark plot by the Chu Family?

With two hundred and sixty warriors mustered, a mere forty remained to defend the Black Panther Profound Warrior Group’s stronghold.

Black Panther, wordless and resolute, led by the Third and Fourth Commanders, set off toward Hyphosis Mountain.

His heart was a tumult of waves; he was determined not to return unless he succeeded in slaying Chu Yangxiang.

Lian Ji and his team, after a thorough investigation, discovered that Chu Yangxiang had left the valley and was now making his way beyond its confines.

Lian Ji seethed with rage, his hatred making his teeth itch. Chu Yangxiang was more cunning than a fox, vanishing without a trace.

But what good would hiding do him? Where could he possibly hide? I will relentlessly pursue you. If you manage to escape, I, Lian Ji, will take my own life.

Joy sparkled in the eyes of the onlooker as he gave Chu Yangxiang a thumbs-up for his performance.

For a thirteen-year-old to strike so decisively and match wits with his adversaries was impressive. Sure, he had the aid of his Spiritual Power and the protective concealment of the Nine Horns Xuanwu Cauldron, but his achievements were still commendable. His composure and tactical acumen deserved praise.

Anyone aspiring to reach the pinnacle must walk a path strewn with bones and drenched in blood.

“Kid, I have a method to eliminate those ten people. Are you willing to try it?”

Chu Yangxiang felt a surge of excitement. Whether he was willing or not, he had no choice at this point. Even if he didn’t kill them, they wouldn’t spare him.

The moment Luo Yufei started tracking him, any chance for reconciliation vanished. They were all merciless killers.

The Heaven-martial Godly Tortoise murmured in his mind, “Just do as I say.”

Chu Yangxiang’s heart leaped with joy, and he nodded vigorously.

Lian Ji and his men scoured the depths of Hyphosis Mountain for any sign of Chu Yangxiang, whose trail was sporadic and elusive.

With a stern expression, Lian Ji commanded, “Brothers, stay alert. We can’t afford to let him slip away.”

“Don’t worry,” they assured him.

They pressed on, following Chu Yangxiang’s trail toward the summit of Hyphosis Mountain, known as At The Top Of Xuanwu.

Over two hundred people advanced toward Hyphosis Mountain, having received word that Chu Yangxiang was making his way to At The Top Of Xuanwu.

This peak, at the very heart of Hyphosis Mountain, was not only its highest point but also the densest haven for Demonic Beasts.

Black Panther secretly wished for the Demonic Beasts to devour Chu Yangxiang. Yet, without witnessing the remains of such an encounter, Black Panther couldn’t be certain of Chu Yangxiang’s demise.

The death of Bao Lie nearly drove Black Panther to the brink of insanity.

Bao Lie was his most cherished son, and to have him perish at the hands of Chu Yangxiang was unbearable. Black Panther was determined to slay Chu Yangxiang to avenge his son’s death.

Moreover, Luo Yufei and his eleven brothers had also fallen to Chu Yangxiang. Only with Chu Yangxiang’s confirmed death could Black Panther find solace for his deep-seated resentment.

The news of the Black Panther Profound Warrior Group’s massive deployment had quickly spread across Zhenhai City.

The Chu Family was well aware of these developments.

Upon receiving the news, Chu Yuexing was utterly astounded. What on earth had Chu Yangxiang done to provoke the Black Panther Profound Warrior Group into mobilizing without regard for the cost?

These thoughts weighed heavily on Chu Yuexing’s mind.

Chu Qingyong, along with five other elders, convened a meeting in the Chu Family’s council hall. Chu Yunxing and Chu Yuexing were in attendance as well.

“The Black Panther Profound Warrior Group mobilized en masse this afternoon, heading toward Hyphosis Mountain. What could be their reason?” Chu Qingyong inquired, addressing the others. “On the day Chu Yangxiang departed, over twenty members of the group hastened to Hyphosis Mountain. To date, not a single one has returned. And now, the entire Black Panther Profound Warrior Group has been mobilized. Could there be a connection between these events?”
