Chapter 63 Team 26 Vs Team 78 (1)
"So where did you learn to fight like that?" Lee Seng asked.
"Oh, my Dad taught my how to fight like that." Olivia answered. She smiled and turned to him. "Why were you surprised?" Lee Seng's face began to beam with a smile and he tried to cover it. Olivia chuckled and pointed at him.
"Oh, no, uh--"
"You're blushing!" Olivia pointed out. Lee Seng covered his cheeks, uncovering his smile. He shook his head and Olivia chuckled. "It's okay, I'm just teasing you." She patted him on the shoulder. Lee Seng pulled the bow off his shoulder and nodded.
"No, I was impressed. You used a lot more palm hits from what I saw." Lee Seng continued the conversation, trying to hide his embarrassment. He mimicked the palm hit and made a lousy smack noise with it. Olivia chuckled and did the palm hit in the air.
"It's one of the easier ways to activate my power on someone. I didn't think it would work on human opponents, but it did. The stun seemed to not last that long though." Olivia explained. "But enough about my fighting style, did you even use your power in the last match?"
"Oh, uh, no." Lee Seng shook his head. Olivia's eyes widened and Lee Seng beamed another embarrassed smile.
'Why am I smiling like an idiot right now?' Lee Seng asked himself.
"I have a very abnormally high amount of strength." Lee Seng answered.
"Is that possible?" Olivia asked. Lee Seng nodded and punched the air.
"You probably know because they did articles on it years ago. I got the Biohuman serum but didn't get powers. I was labeled 'powerless.' In terms of physical attributes, my strength, speed and durability went up loads. They said I was a Biohuman superhuman. I surpassed 97% of Biohumans in terms of physical attributes. In terms of intelligence, they told me it increased a lot too. I didn't feel any differences with intelligence, but after I awakened a couple of weeks ago, I'm starting to feel the difference."
"How?"
"Well," Lee Seng bit the inside of his lip and narrowed his eyes, looking up at the ceiling. "I thought I'd have a harder time convincing myself to fight. My mind seems to separate itself from... the past and then it focuses on the fight. I feel like I make faster decisions in a fight because of my increased intelligence. It's like I can process what's happening around me and make a decision in that small frame of time." Lee Seng shrugged. "I don't really know how to explain it but it's really strange."
"Maybe some sort of thought acceleration?" Olivia guessed. "It sounds interesting."
"We will now begin Round 2. Please step in to your arenas." The AI voice spoke. Lee Seng and Olivia stepped into the arena.
"They're probably gonna go for you first." Lee Seng said.
"Are you sure about that?" Olivia asked. "They could go for you since they know you have knowledge on them."
"They won't." Lee Seng shook his head. "They'll go for you and try to overpower you with their close combat fire power. If they can't overpower from close, they'll use fireballs to close the distance. They probably think I'm just a Fighter. The bow is throwing one of them off."
"How can you be sure about this?"
"I was really close with them, before." Lee Seng answered.
"Let the battle begin in.... 3.... 2.... 1... Start!" The AI shouted. Just like Lee Seng thought, Jason and Jae ran straight for Olivia.
"I'll use the bow in a bit to throw them off." Lee Seng sprinted into action. He ran towards Jae and strapped the bow onto his chest in one fluid motion before sending out a kick towards Jae's head. Jae narrowly dodged the kick and quickly flipped backwards as Jason ran forwards towards Olivia.
Jason's fists ignited into flames and he swung at Olivia. Olivia dodged, moving backwards. Jason began to put pressure onto her and Olivia carefully tried to not get hit by the flaming fist. Olivia heard the familiar electric spark and quickly dodged the punch and slammed her palm into Jason's stomach.
The flame in Jason's fists died. He jumped backwards and tried to reignite himself but failed.
"What the hell?" Jason screamed. He looked at Olivia who was already coming for him. She began to send a barrage of palm strikes out. The two blocked each other and Olivia occasionally slapped the punches from Jason away with ease.
Lee Seng leapt backwards as a fireball flew past him. The fireball collided with the arena barrier and sizzled. Lee Seng slid backwards and readied himself. Three more fireballs swung out at Lee Seng. Lee Seng raised his hand and smiled. He felt the familiar shaking sensation in his hand and gravity flew out and slammed past the fireballs towards Jae.
Jae jumped out of the way, feeling his foot being pulled backwards. He spun in the air and landed on the ground, looking in the opposite direction. He quickly stood up as Lee Seng had already made half the distance.
"Damn your ungodly amount of speed!" Jae cursed. He ran at Lee Seng and blocked the first punch. Lee Seng threw another punch and used the kinetic energy and spun into a kick with the push of gravity. Jae quickly dropped into a split, dodging the kick. He spun into a flare and flames ignited on his feet.
"Dammit! What did you do to me?!?" Jason shouted. He blew past the first strike by Olivia and quickly threw a punch straight into her chest. She stumbled backwards and Jason sent another punch into her chest. Olivia staggered. Jason's fist ignited and he smiled. He threw the punch forward and Olivia flew backwards with flames licking at her. She slid close toward the line and patted the flames off. Her chest was warm as she pulled herself up.
"Ahh, I guess we're revealing secrets today." She muttered. The sound of electricity shot through her head and she watched as Jason ran at her. She put both of her index fingers and thumbs together, creating two mirroring circles and connected the two together. She raised them at Jason and smiled. "Stay still." She shouted.
Jason's body suddenly dropped as she looked at where Lee Seng was.
"I don't have time for you. I'll take the other one out first." She whispered. She ran towards Lee Seng and Jae. Jae's hands and feet were on fire. His flare kicks swiped out flames. Lee Seng moved backwards as Jae flipped onto his feet and punched the air. Three huge fireballs flew out of the single punch and acclerated. The fireballs poofed into smoke and the third one landed a huge hit on Lee Seng.
Lee Seng flew backwards landing close to the edge. He heard the arena line beep and he quickly moved his hand away as the fire burnt through Lee Seng's shirt. Lee Seng pushed the flames off with his chest and felt the sting of fire and his self-healing kicking in. He plucked the bowstring amazed it was still there and quickly pulled it off.
The bow hummed with his energy and words began to appear in front of him.
'If I don't strike them with the arrow then they won't get as hurt. I don't have time to think about--"
A fireball appeared in front of him and Lee Seng raised his hands to guard himself. Gravity ripped through his arms and shot an X outwards. It blew the smoke and fire away in one go and slammed against the opposite arena wall.
"Arrow." Lee Seng pulled an arrow behind him and notched it onto the bowstring. He raised the bow and looked around. Olivia had intercepted Jae's escape route to his brother and the two were fighting. The fireball was deliberate and meant for Lee Seng. He looked at Jason who was starting to move. He pulled the bow back and aimed for the wall behind Jason.
He fired the arrow and watched as the gravity-infused bow and arrow did its work. The arrow flew past Jason and rippled the air around him. Jason stumbled closer towards the beeping line as the arrow smashed into the barrier. The arrow erupted into gravity and shoved Jason towards Lee Seng's direction.
"Arrow." Lee Seng pulled another arrow behind him and notched it. Jason stumbled onto his feet and glared at Lee Seng. Lee Seng turned and pointed the arrow towards Jae's direction. Jae barraged Olivia with four hits and then swung a hook. Olivia quickly deflected the hook and slammed her body into Jae. He stumbled backwards and Olivia made for distance.
"That's it, Chang!" Jason shouted. Lee Seng turned to look at Jason. Jason was sprinting at him. His arms and legs were on fire. Lee Seng pointed the arrow towards him and smiled.
Lee Seng fired the arrow and watched as it Jason tried to dodge it. The arrow grazed him and erupted into a burst of gravity. Jason flew and stumbled towards the line.
