Chapter 21: Give it your all, because I will!
"You are strong... But you can't win. Your eyes are filled with anger and hate... If you don't calm yourself, you won't achieve success in facing all of us together."
A woman, who had beautiful blue hair commented. Her deep blue eyes appeared to be able to see through Raven's soul directly. Moreover, her face also revealed a lot of sadness, as if she could feel some of his pain.
She was Tricia, a Triton who was blessed with incredible healing, almost to the point of immortality. She was also called a Saintess amongst the people in the tower, who had blessings of gods. She was Rank Four in the Bloodline Trial.
"Who says people who are filled with anger and hate can't win?" The only person from the Demion species who was still left, Zezel, commented.
Unlike Tricia, he quite appreciated Raven, since his nature reminded him of a demon. Demions were descendants of demons after all, who did what they pleased, giving in to their true emotions. This was also why they were so strong.
Even though he was only Rank Three at the end of the Bloodline Trial, but his strength was said to be comparable to Arze.
His blood red eyes were observing Raven with great interest, while his flaming red hair fluttered with the wind.
"That might work for a person belonging to your special, since your Bloodline uses strengthened emotions." Tricia commented, shaking her head lightly. "However, he's a human. If he lost control, he won't be a challenge at all."
"It's possible," Zezel replied thoughtfully. "But we won't know for sure unless we see his full potential in battle. Isn't that right?"
He cracked his knuckles, as if he was excited for the coming battle. However, he didn't want to fight with the others. He wanted to fight alone, and enjoy the battle to the fullest.
Arze still hadn't spoken anything. He was only gazing at Raven curiously. He could feel that most of Raven's bloodlust was targeted at him, from the start. For him, it didn't make sense. Why did this kid hate him like that?
"I don't see any need to get involved. You all can enjoy it." The Archangel, called Izia, took a step back lazily, as if not paying any attention to the human before her at all.
It was the same with Arze, whose silence only meant that he didn't think Raven was worthy of facing him.
There was one more person who hadn't spoken anything though. It was Wiess.
The shadow of Wiess which was present here was nothing more than an illusion created by the Bloodline Trial. It didn't have any memories of real Weiss, just like the others didn't have the memories of their real counterparts.
However, even though Weiss didn't know who Raven was, there was a heavy feeling within his heart. There was a sense of sadness, but at the same time, there was also pain yet a strange sense of relief.
Even Weiss didn't understand what this feeling was.
In the end, he couldn't control his curiosity.
"Do we know each other?" he asked with a strange glint in his eyes.
Raven had already convinced himself that the person before him was no more than an illusion. But still, he was taken aback by that question.
He gazed at the familiar face that he had seen almost every day in his life in the past... The same face that he missed the most, now that he had lost that person forever.
They had grown up together, sharing secrets and creating precious memories. However, now that they were before each other, they were nothing more than two strangers for Weiss.
Weiss noticed the hesitation in Raven's expression and realized that his question had caught him off guard. He decided to explain himself. "I'm sorry, I just have this feeling like we've met before. It's a feeling that's hard to understand."
Unlike the other players, Weiss didn't contain even an iota of arrogance. He didn't even hesitate in apologizing, thinking that he might have said something wrong.
Even though Weiss had become a powerful warrior in the World of Hellfire, but deep within, he was still the same old person, who tried to be as righteous as he could. He was too trusting of others, and always tried to look at the positive side of the people, until it was too late...
Raven took a deep breath, closing his eyes momentarily.
After a brief pause, he opened his eyes. All the emotions in his eyes had disappeared for the time being.
"It's the first time I've seen you." He spoke, without hesitation. Only he knew why he lied. "So don't hesitate when attacking me with everything you have. Because I won't..."
Even though Weiss nodded, believing Raven's words, that strange feeling was still within his heart. However, he didn't think too much.
He raised his Sword, entering battle stance. "I'll give it my all, in that case."
Even though his sword was a low grade Sword, unlike Raven's special sword, but as soon as he raised the Sword, his aura strengthened.
It was like it had something to do with his Exclusive Skill.
Fortunately, the time they all talked, Raven had also recovered most of his stamina. He tightened his grip around his sword, raising it.
"Let this be our final farewell..." Raven muttered, under his breath. "Even if you're just a shadow of my brother, I won't let you be the hostage of this Trial..."
Zezel was intending to fight first. However, seeing Raven and Weiss so motivated, he rolled his eyes and stepped back as well.
Weiss was the first to move, as he disappeared from his spot.
His speed was so fast that even Raven couldn't see him. That speed was many times faster than the speed of the Ice Wolf Kings. In fact, it was something akin to teleportation.
Before Raven could even react, he felt a burn around his back as a sharp Sword slashed on his back.
Fortunately, most of the damage was taken by his robe, or he would've already been dead.
Raven was filled with surprise. This level of strength... The other than he faced until now wasn't even close to this level! No wonder his brother rose to the top five, making humans one of the five overlord Species single handedly!
And now, he had to face this same brother, and win!
