Chapter 55 - Draw Water With A Sieve
Chapter 55: Draw Water With A Sieve
“Weizhen.” Jiang Xinyi smiled. She rarely called Kang Weizhen “Sister-in-law” outside.
The two were roommates in university, so Jiang Xinyi thought they were on equal footing.
“Oh, hi.” Remaining deadpan, Kang Weizhen walked along in her high heels without even looking at her.
But her assistant beside her looked at Jiang Xinyi while they passed by.
Jiang Xinyi sulked. They used to be classmates anyway. Did she have to be so condescending?
However, she showed no sign of emotion and they walked towards the meeting room together.
In the conference room, the board members seemed to respect Kang Weizhen’s management abilities and no one raised any objections to her.
After all, under the management of Sheng You and Kang Weizhen, within three years, the Sheng Corporation’s performance had improved two-fold. Of course, a very small number of people were unconvinced of their leadership but they didn’t dare to show it.
“The upcoming launch in the medical sector is our key project this year and a major breakthrough for us to achieve cross-industrial…” Kang Weizhen was halfway through when someone said, “Wait a minute, CEO Kang.”
Suddenly interrupted, Kang Weizhen immediately glared domineeringly, and under her stare, Jiang Xinyi suddenly froze and forgot what she was going to say.
Kang Weizhen knocked on the table impatiently. “Ms. Jiang, you aren’t an insider and shouldn’t have appeared on this occasion. Now you’ve even interrupted me! Please step out.”
Kang Weizhen spoke mercilessly and countless prying eyes glanced over, making Jiang Xinyi almost fall over.
Jiang Xinyi gritted her teeth then looked at Kang Weizhen with a smile. “CEO Kang, I’m also a member of the Sheng Family and the good news I brought with me today is beneficial to the Sheng Family. Why shouldn’t I stay?”
When she said this, it was just like a small pebble falling into the sea without making many ripples.
Although Sheng Tai’s wife looked very gentle, she was actually quite ambitious.
She wanted to have a spot in the Sheng Family.
It would be OK if she was as capable as CEO Kang, but a few years ago, she came in with the business proposals she prepared with confidence, but all of her suggestions were flashy and useless. The board members were all old foxes. How could they buy those junk ideas just because she was Sheng Tai’s wife? So they turned her down.
They wondered what she was up to today.
Jiang Xinyi stood still.
“OK, then tell us the good news.” Kang Weizhen crossed her arms and her red Prada suit was like her battle suit, setting off her figure beautifully. She and Sheng Yang had somewhat similar facial features. Although she was in her forties, she was still gorgeous and attractive. “If it’s beneficial to the Shengs, I don’t mind listening.”
Sensing a bit of sarcasm, the corners of Jiang Xinyi’s mouth lifted slightly.
It was different this time.
“Yesterday, I talked to Ming Qi.” Seeing the shocked looks on all the board members, Jiang Xinyi felt quite satisfied. She took a deep breath before continuing, “I think I don’t need to mention how important Dr. Ming is in the medical field. Cooperating with him is a safe bet.”
“Is that true?” Someone couldn’t help but ask.
“You must have acquaintances who attended the dinner party Mr. Ming Qi was at yesterday. You can check with them.” Jiang Xinyi smiled with confidence. “I wouldn’t dare to joke about this kind of thing.”
