Chapter 59 - He Really Didnt Know How to Wait Upon People
Chapter 59: He Really Didn’t Know How to Wait Upon People
When they reached the sickbay, the school doctor gave Chi Jiao a simple examination. In the end, he determined that she had acute gastroenteritis and needed an intravenous drip.
Chi Jiao knew that her body was still very weak. Previously, she had overexerted her strength to teach someone a lesson and had eaten something heavier in the afternoon. This was retribution on her delicate stomach, which caused her gastroenteritis to act up.
She had some medicine with her, but Chi Jiao didn’t want to use it right now.
She lay on the bed with a drip. She couldn’t even bear to blink as she looked at Quan Jue, who was sitting on the chair beside the bed.
Quan Jue felt uncomfortable under her gaze. He frowned and asked, “How are you feeling now?”
“My stomach still hurts,” Chi Jiao said softly.
Not that she was lying. It did hurt.
She had always been very sensitive to pain. The slightest pain could magnify several times, causing her to cry.
Quan Jue had originally planned to leave if she was feeling better. However, after hearing Chi Jiao’s words, he could no longer say that he wanted to.
It happened to be lunchtime at this moment. After the school doctor gave Chi Jiao a drip, she went to the lounge to rest. Only Chi Jiao and Quan Jue were left in the small ward of the infirmary.
Quan Jue felt that the atmosphere was a little awkward. He stood up and said, “I’ll get you a cup of warm water.”
When Quan Jue returned with the disposable cup, Chi Jiao blinked her watery doe eyes at him. “Feed me.”
Quan Jue was silent.
However, when he saw Chi Jiao’s pale smile, he realized that he couldn’t refuse her at all. This made him feel unprecedented frustration and annoyance.
Without revealing any real emotions on his face, Quan Jue did as Chi Jiao said. His movements were slightly clumsy, but he cautiously helped her up and fed her water carefully.
The warm water washed away the dryness in her throat. Chi Jiao was unwilling to lie down after drinking the water. Therefore, she sat on the bed and stared straight at Quan Jue.
“Brother Quan, you just said that you don’t plan to stay at our house anymore. Where do you plan to stay, then?” Chi Jiao suddenly thought of this important question.
If Brother Quan really didn’t live with the Chi family, then she would lose many chances to get close to him.
“I rented a house outside,” Quan Jue answered indifferently. His lips curled into a mocking smile as his dark eyes looked deeply at Chi Jiao. “That’s your home, not mine.”
Since when was it ever their home?
“Then, can I be a guest at Brother Quan’s place?” Chi Jiao shielded his sarcasm and looked at him with sparkling eyes.
She knew that Quan Jue wasn’t happy staying with them, so she wouldn’t stop him from leaving.
Seeing that she didn’t seem to mind his mockery at all and was even looking at him expectantly, Quan Jue felt as if a fishbone was stuck in his throat.
Was she heartless or did she really have no temper at all?
“Up to you.” A moment later, Quan Jue spat out coldly.
Chi Jiao picked up her phone and pulled out the memo application before handing it to him. “Address.”
Quan Jue took the phone and keyed in the address. He then passed the phone to her. “Don’t bother me if there’s nothing important.”
Chi Jiao nodded casually. Quan Jue didn’t know if she took his words to heart.
“I’ll go out and make a call.” With that, Quan Jue stood up and walked out.
Chi Jiao lay back on the bed. Her stomach was still uncomfortable and her body felt a little weak.
