Chapter 93 - Intentional Fall
Chapter 93: Intentional Fall
The next day was the school’s classroom hygiene assessment. Everyone was busy cleaning their classrooms.
Qu Xiao was wiping the tables and chairs when she suddenly saw Jiang Xue’er barging in from the classroom door and walking straight to her.
The surrounding students all stopped moving and curiously sized up Jiang Xue’er as they discussed softly, “She’s the prettiest girl in the class next door, right? Even she knows Qu Xiao? I heard that Jiang Xue’er and Qu Qi are close. She must be here looking for trouble!”
Only now did Qu Xiao find out that Jiang Xue’er was also studying in the same high school as her. But what did she want from her?
Bang! Jiang Xue’er slammed her phone on the desk. Her phone screen was full of intimate photos of her and Ling Chi shopping at the furniture market that day.
“Did you distribute these photos?”
Jiang Xue’er’s eyes were red as she said with an exaggerated expression, “How could you do this? I thought you were my best friend.”
Qu Xiao was stunned for a moment. Then, she looked at the photos carefully and replied in a light tone, “These photos weren’t taken by me. I was standing in front of you at that time, which doesn’t align with the angles in which these photos were taken. This has nothing to do with me. Don’t accuse me.”
Since they were in school, Qu Xiao said nicely to Jiang Xue’er so as to not embarrass her.
Jiang Xue’er saw her arrogant and cold face and became even more angry and resentful towards her.
Ever since the photos were released, Ling Chi had cut off all contact with her.
Ling Chi wasn’t even willing to listen to her explanation. He only thought about how to explain the photos to Qu Zhen.
Jiang Xue’er blamed everything on Qu Xiao. She felt the gazes around her and deliberately said in an aggrieved tone, “I know that you used to like Ling Chi. But now, you’re already married to Shang Yan. Why are you still getting involved in his relationships?”
“I’m your good friend. I’m just worried for you...”
Jiang Xue’er deliberately distorted the truth, trying to make Qu Xiao sound like someone who was two-timing.
The corners of Qu Xiao’s lips curled up into a cold smile. She looked at Jiang Xue’er’s smug expression and crossed her arms as she leaned against the desk. “Good friend?”
“When I was bullied in the Qu family to the point where I wasn’t even given food, as my best friend, where were you?”
“At the Qu family’s dinner party, you helped me pick out an evening gown to deliberately embarrass myself in public. Have you forgotten all of this?”
Qu Xiao narrated their past clearly. The gossipy female classmates looked at Jiang Xue’er with disdain. They did not expect that the seemingly gentle and kind class belle would be so vicious in private.
Jiang Xue’er wanted to retort, but Qu Xiao raised her hand to stop her.
“You clearly knew about my relationship with Ling Chi back then, but you still frequently asked him out to meet alone then. You said that you cared about me. How come I didn’t feel any care at all!”
“Instead, I felt that you were using me as a tool and stepping stone.”
Qu Xiao stared coldly at Jiang Xue’er.
The class was in an uproar. Jiang Xue’er was shocked. Her fair face flushed red.
“Don’t listen to her nonsense!”
“She’s distorting the truth and making up lies!”
Jiang Xue’er wanted to seek the support of the surrounding students, but no one was willing to stand up for her and support her.
Qu Xiao looked at her flustered appearance indifferently as her gaze fell on the photos on her phone screen.
That day at the furniture market, Ling Chi and Jiang Xue’er were only there for half an hour. Other than her, no one else was present. Could it be... Shang Yan?
A thought popped up in Qu Xiao’s mind, and Shang Yan’s jealous face immediately appeared in her mind.
Seeing that she was in a daze, Jiang Xue’er’s eyes rolled as she thought of a plan.
She deliberately pulled Qu Xiao’s arm outward and said, “Xiao, it seems that there is a misunderstanding between us.”
“Let’s go out and have a good chat. Is that alright?”
Qu Xiao played along. She wanted to see what kind of tricks Jiang Xue’er had up her sleeves.
The two of them came to the front of the stairs outside the classroom. The class door was only slightly open. The students all peeked outside and pricked up their ears, wanting to listen to their conversation.
Seeing this, Jiang Xue’er deliberately pulled Qu Xiao’s hand and pushed it towards herself.
She lost her balance and fell backwards. Her entire body fell onto the stairs and she rolled down a few steps.
Jiang Xue’er’s ankles and knees were all bleeding. She held her ankles and her eyes were filled with sparkling tears as she said with a sobbing tone, “Xiao, I know you hate me, but you can’t injure me like this. My foot...”
