Chapter 70 - Misunderstanding Resolved
Chapter 70 Misunderstanding Resolved
Li rushed over with the Emergency department’s doctors and nurses. “CEO Shang, you must hold on!”
Ryan Hospital was a private hospital that Shang Group had invested in. When the chief physician of the Emergency department heard Li’s words, he immediately ran to Shang Yan who was lying in a pool of blood. He did not dare to be negligent as he called for the nurses to carry Shang Yan onto a moving stretcher, they pushed him to the emergency room for an examination.
Qu Xiao’s legs could not help but tremble. She held Shang Yan’s hand tightly and followed beside him.
In the long corridor outside the emergency room’s operating theater, the chief physician looked at the CT image that he had received with a serious expression.
He said to Li and Qu Xiao, “CEO Shang’s condition is very dangerous. The impact caused his ribs to fracture. Currently, we are unable to determine if the organs in his abdominal cavity have been damaged.”
“We need to operate on him as soon as possible. If we delay for even a second, he’ll be in more danger.”
“Please sign here quickly!” The nurse handed Qu Xiao the Critical Illness Notice and the Letter of Commitment. “We’ll do our best.”
Qu Xiao bit her red lips tightly. Shang Yan, who was lying on the moving stretcher, bit the tip of his tongue and relied on the sharp pain to maintain his consciousness. He beckoned for Li to come to his side and said, “Go and get Qu Zhen over. Right now…”
Li looked back at Qu Xiao with a troubled expression and said in a soft voice, “CEO Shang, it’s better to wait till after you finish the surgery.”
Shang Yan shook his head. He endured the dizziness and nausea and insisted on ordering him to do it immediately.
Qu Xiao gripped the ballpoint pen tightly and quickly signed her name. The corners of her lips curled up into a self-mocking smile.
It turned out that at the moment when his life was in danger, the person that came to Shang Yan’s mind was actually Qu Zhen. How ridiculous!
Very soon, Li brought Qu Zhen to the emergency room’s operating theater. When Qu Zhen saw Shang Yan whose face was covered in blood, she ran over with a worried expression and asked, “What on Earth is going on? How did he suffer such a serious injury?”
Shang Yan stared at Qu Xiao, who was standing in the corner. He propped himself up with great effort. He squeezed out a sentence with great effort, “Come here.”
Qu Xiao’s expression darkened. She was standing side by side with Qu Zhen, and her entire body was emitting an aura of resistance.
Shang Yan’s eyes were almost unable to open. He looked at them with all his willpower.
“Qu Zhen, please help me explain why I came to look for you. Xiao, she, she seems to have misunderstood me. If I can’t leave the operating table alive, I want to at least resolve the misunderstanding she has!”
Qu Zhen stared at Qu Xiao with her round eyes. No one would have thought that Shang Yan’s feelings for Qu Xiao would be so serious.
“Shang Yan wants me to move the Chinese medicine store away from its current location and not compete with you. The store has already opened, so if I cancel the lease now, I have to pay a huge fine. I can’t find a more suitable store location for the time being, so I didn’t agree to him immediately.”
Qu Zhen handed the electronic transfer contract that she carried with her to Qu Xiao.
“He promised to compensate me for my losses. All of this is for you.”
Qu Xiao flipped through it in disbelief and then looked at Shang Yan in surprise. Shang Yan finally could not hold it in anymore and fainted with his eyes closed.
The chief physician of the Emergency department hurriedly pushed him to the operating theater. The red (In Surgery] sign lit up. Qu Xiao leaned against the wall and slowly squatted down. She hugged her knees helplessly and curled up on the ground, she recalled all the things that had happened with mixed feelings.
Li frowned and stood beside her. He said with some resentment, “Madam, CEO Shang doesn’t allow me to speak carelessly.’
“I shouldn’t be the one to tell you these things, but I really can’t bear to see you continue to misunderstand and doubt him!”
“We were on a business trip to an overseas branch. It originally required two weeks, but CEO Shang compressed the meetings for you into a few short days. He only slept three to four hours a day in order to be able to return to your side as soon as possible…”
Every word from Li was like a knife poking at Qu Xiao’s heart, “CEO Shang really hoped that you could come to pick him up. When you rejected him, I could see how disappointed he was. I’ve worked by CEO Shang’s side for almost ten years, and he has no reservations about you. But what about you?”
Misunderstanding, suspicion, and even a unilateral conviction that did not allow him to explain.
Qu Xiao’s nails dug into her palms. She buried her head in her knees, and her tears fell to the ground.
Her voice was extremely soft as she muttered to herself, “Shang Yan, I’m sorry!”
Bang!
After an unknown amount of time, the operating theater’s door slowly opened. Qu Xiao rushed to the doctor’s side immediately. “How is he?”
“The surgery was very successful, but his body is very weak. He needs to stay in bed and rest for a week for observation.”
The doctor’s words made Qu Xiao breathe a sigh of relief. She finally revealed a relaxed smile and accompanied Shang Yan back to the ward.
