Chapter 55 - A Fortuitous Encounter
Chapter 55 A Fortuitous Encounter
The Chinese medicine store was not open for business yet. Other than Qu Xiao and the boss, there were only two cleaners in the store who were hired temporarily.
The burly men had strong and sturdy bodies, with animal totem tattoos faintly showing on their shoulders. Each of them held a stick and stared at Qu Xiao.
Qu Xiao’s words clearly caused dissatisfaction from the strange man. He used his fist to knock on the solid wooden table and chair twice. “Since we can’t come to an agreement, we’ll redecorate for you instead.”
He waved his hand, and the strong men swung their sticks and smashed them at the Chinese medicine cabinets on both sides.
Qu Xiao hurriedly spread her arms to block the middle. She narrowed her eyes and asked, “Which store are you talking about?”
The strange man pointed at the store across the street. Qu Xiao took the opportunity to look over, and her eyebrows twitched slightly.
It was the store where she almost got hit by tiles from a few days ago?
It seemed that she was destined to not have a good relationship with the owners of the shop.
“How about this?”
Qu Xiao put on a smile, “I’m willing to pay double the rent that the tenant across the street gives you. If the other party asks for a breach of contract fee from you, I’m also willing to pay this fee for you. Why don’t you rent the store to me…”
“I happen to want to set up a Chinese medicine store and a physiotherapy clinic separately. The two are close to each other, so it’s a good thing for me.”
The problems that could be solved with money were all trivial matters. Qu Xiao would rather spend money to buy some peace of mind. The strange man coughed lightly and rolled his eyes as he pondered. Soon, he made a choice to stop the strong men’s actions. He said in a hoarse voice, “Then follow me to the opposite side. If the tenant agrees, we’ll sign the contract on the spot!”
Qu Xiao nodded in relief and followed the strange man out the door.
When the two of them passed by the parking space on the business street, Qu Xiao suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar black Mercedes in the corner. She felt a little uneasy and stopped in her tracks, her fingertips turned pale.
“Miss Qu! The owner across the street wants to rent my place for twice the price. I’m sorry, please move out!”
The loud voice of the strange man came from the shop.
Qu Qi crossed her arms and stared at the door as if she was watching a show. “Who is being so unreasonable?”

Qu Xiao’s figure appeared outside the door. Qu Zhen blinked in surprise. “Xiao? It’s you?”
Qu Xiao was also stunned. She didn’t expect the owner of this shop to be Qu Zhen!
Qu Qi said in disgust, “So it’s you? You just can’t stop getting on my nerves. You’re using CEO Shang’s secondary card so carelessly!”
As she said that, she deliberately moved two steps to the left, revealing the figure behind the bar counter.
Shang Yan was sitting in his wheelchair, looking at Qu Xiao in surprise. When he opened his mouth to ask about the cause of the incident, Qu Xiao’s expression was slightly self-deprecating as she interrupted his words.
“Why are you here? You said you had something to do. You’re here to help Qu Zhen?”
Qu Xiao clenched her teeth lightly as she stared straight at Shang Yan and asked.
Qu Zhen ran to her side with an anxious expression, seemingly wanting to hold Qu Xiao’s hand intimately. Qu Xiao slapped her hand away mercilessly. Shang Yan saw her action and frowned slightly.
This slight change in expression was magnified infinitely in Qu Xiao’s line of sight, evolving into other meanings. Qu Zhen turned back to look at Shang Yan apologetically, explaining in a gentle tone, “I was the one who asked Shang Yan to come over and help take a look at the shop’s renovation design. Xiao, you know that I just returned to the country not long ago, so I don’t know much about the market situation and the preferences of the customers. Don’t blame him.”
Qu Xiao pursed her red lips and stared at Shang Yan with reddened eyes, then nodded.
“Is that so? Shang Yan, where were you when I was busy with the Chinese medicine store alone? Did you ask me anything?”
“Two days ago, the renovation worker of Qu Zhen’s store accidentally threw down two tiles and almost hit me. I almost lost my life! Did you know that?” Qu Xiao cried out aggrievedly. A deep disappointment surfaced in her eyes. She staggered back two steps and muttered harshly, “I shouldn’t have come here today. I’m really sorry for disturbing you guys! You guys continue…”
After saying that, Qu Xiao turned around and rushed out of the door.
Shang Yan opened his mouth and shouted Qu Xiao’s name, wanting to push the wheelchair to chase after her.
However, since it was hard to move, he could only watch as Qu Xiao stopped a taxi and disappeared at the intersection of the street.
“Serves you right!” Qu Qi felt comfortable and whispered in her heart.
Qu Zhen frowned slightly and looked sideways. She shook her head with a worried expression, indicating for her to shut up.
Shang Yan heard Qu Qi’s vicious words and thought of Qu Xiao saying that she almost had an accident. He signaled for Li to deal with the shop owner with his eyes!
