Chapter 18
C18 – He Is a Grandmaster!
Pei Sheng was a fugitive Grandmaster, and his smile alone could instill the terror of facing a devil from hell itself. Even Bian Tong was frightened by it.
“He’s a Grandmaster on the run, and there are scouts all around.”
“Hahaha, too late. Do you really think he can get away? I’ll kill him first, then it’s your turn!”
With lightning speed, Pei Sheng lunged at Pei Yu, who stood frozen in shock.
He had just walked into the neighborhood and already stumbled upon a Grandmaster fugitive intent on killing him.
Today was definitely not his lucky day!
Yet, Pei Yu noticed the Grandmaster before him was wounded, likely from his recent clash with Inspector Bian.
“It’s do or die now!”
Pei Sheng regarded Pei Yu as nothing more than an ant.
As he reached out, Bian Tong yelled, “What are you waiting for? Run, you fool!”
He hadn’t anticipated an ordinary person wandering into the area at such a time—a serious oversight in their security.
But as Pei Sheng threw a seemingly careless punch, Pei Yu vanished like a wisp of smoke, leaping into the air and slamming down a devastating punch.
Pei Sheng was caught off guard, only realizing what happened when his head split open.
“You’re a Grandmaster?”
He looked up too late; the overwhelming force crashed down on him like a tidal wave.
Pei Yu unleashed his full might onto Pei Sheng’s crown.
Struck unexpectedly, Pei Sheng collapsed!
It took just one move for Pei Yu to take him down—a one-punch victory!
The crown of the head is anyone’s Achilles’ heel; not even a bone-hardened martial artist could withstand a Grandmaster’s blow.
And Pei Sheng’s bone-hardening was incomplete, lagging behind Pei Yu’s progress.
His defeat was, in a way, excusable.
“You’re a Grandmaster too?”
On the ground, Bian Tong’s eyes bulged in astonishment as he witnessed Pei Yu fell Pei Sheng with a single punch.
Pei Sheng was a notoriously brutal fugitive. The pursuit of him had already claimed the lives of three Grandmasters.
Bian Tong was the only one who understood the full extent of Pei Sheng’s horror. Today, even he had nearly met his end at Pei Sheng’s hands.
Yet, the young man before him, barely into his twenties, had dispatched Pei Sheng in mere seconds.
He was truly formidable!
“It was nothing, really. No need for such a fuss,” Pei Yu remarked nonchalantly.
At that moment, Qian Wenwei and the other investigators arrived at the chaotic scene and hurried to assess Bian Tong’s injuries.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. It was him; he saved me. Without him, you wouldn’t be seeing me now.”
Qian Wenwei helped Bian Tong to his feet. After processing what Bian Tong had said, he turned his attention to Pei Yu.
Upon seeing Pei Sheng’s lifeless body, eyes wide open in death, he was taken aback.
“Did you really kill Pei Sheng?”
“Is it so inconceivable that I could take down a Grandmaster?”
Pei Yu’s pride was palpable.
“Qian, don’t be fooled by his youth. This man is a Grandmaster,” Bian Tong said, pointing to Pei Yu, then bowed deeply in gratitude.
“Thank you for saving my life.”
Initially skeptical, Qian Wenwei’s doubts melted away upon hearing Bian Tong’s endorsement.
Bian Tong was renowned for his meticulous nature and was not one to lie.
Witnessing the youthful Pei Yu’s mastery, a daring thought took root in Qian Wenwei’s mind!
