Water Luriana shot up into the sky like a water pillar, drawing a graceful arc in midair.

However, since it was Water Luriana’s first time attempting this, she lost control mid-flight, and the water stream veered sharply downwards.

With a whoosh, she plummeted straight down, head-first into the ground, leaving most of her body and tail sticking out above.

Yet before Water Luriana could further sink into despair, Yabao reached out his paw and pulled her up from the ground, as if yanking a radish.

Yabao leaned in, looking at Water Luriana, whose face was covered in dirt, with genuine concern.

"Lu lu..."

Seeing Yabao so close, Water Luriana’s face flushed a deep red. Forgetting to think, she spun around and dived headfirst into the pool.

"Yap?"

Yabao tilted his head, full of confusion.

Inside the room.

Qiao Sang finished her meditation and slowly opened her eyes.

The moment she did, she noticed Yabao crouching nearby with a worried expression.

"Yap Yap!"

Seeing his trainer awake, Yabao’s eyes lit up, and he quickly approached Qiao Sang, eagerly explaining what had just happened.

"Water Luriana is hiding in the water and won’t come out?"

"So, you’re saying Water Luriana succeeded in her water jet training, but then fell mid-way and possibly knocked her head?"

Yabao nodded seriously, believing it was a real possibility.

This couldn’t go on!

Qiao Sang, anxious, got out of bed, slipped on her shoes, and headed for the courtyard.

Just then, Little Treasure appeared, blocking her path.

Qiao Sang moved left, and Little Treasure followed.

Qiao Sang moved right, and Water Luriana did the same.

"What’s the matter?" Qiao Sang finally stopped and asked.

"Xun!"

Little Treasure proudly puffed up his chest, as if saying, "Trust me, I’ve got this."

"You know what’s wrong with Water Luriana?" Qiao Sang was puzzled.

"Yap?" Yabao also looked surprised.

"Xun~" Little Treasure nodded proudly.

He had watched everything unfold nearby, so it was sure of what he saw!

Qiao Sang: ...

It’s just a hit to the head. Other than that, what else could be wrong?

Before Qiao Sang could say anything, Little Treasure somehow pulled out a phone and skillfully operated it.

In moments, he pulled up a video from his history and showed it to Qiao Sang.

Qiao Sang was amazed at this move.

Wow, playing with phones and even knowing her lock code, accessing history?

Qiao Sang looked down at the phone, with Yabao curiously peering over.

The video playing was a trailer of a recently released drama that Qiao Sang had watched while browsing online before the school term began. Little Treasure had been beside her at the time.

Qiao Sang watched the video in silence. She remembered the drama was a romance and motivational story.

Based on a novel, much of the plot had been spoiled in the comment section.

The story followed two trainers who disliked each other since childhood. However, one of them had a pet beast, a green Kemeow, who fell in love with the other’s Sakura Wood Cotton.

For the sake of its trainer, the green Kemeow tried to avoid Sakura Wood Cotton but fell into depression.

When its trainer discovered this, he sought to reconcile with his rival for the happiness of his pet beast.

After many chaotic incidents, the two trainers became friends, even teaming up to compete in a regional double-beast tournament. The two beasts ended up together, achieving a classic happy ending.

Qiao Sang struggled to connect this plot to Water Luriana’s situation.

The trailer had reached the part showing the two beasts.

At this point in the story, the protagonists were still rivals, and every meeting led to a beast battle.

In the video, Sakura Wood Cotton attacked with Leaf Blade, and the green Kemeow, deliberately missing its target, let itself be hit by Leaf Blade.

After falling, the green Kemeow blushed and ran away, shaking off Sakura Wood Cotton’s paw when it tried to help.

Before the trailer continued, Xiao Xunbao paused it.

Qiao Sang looked up, bewildered.

Yabao looked equally puzzled.

What does this have to do with Water Luriana? Qiao Sang felt her brain slow to a halt.

Perhaps seeing Qiao Sang’s confusion, Little Treasure began acting out the courtyard scene, switching between playing Yabao and Water Luriana, reenacting everything.

After a moment of silence, Qiao Sang said, "You’re saying Water Luriana likes Yabao?"

Little Treasure nodded firmly.

Qiao Sang turned to look at Yabao, still utterly confused by the situation.

Water Luriana likes Yabao? Impossible!

These two were at each other’s throats just recently.

Besides, Yabao is barely six months old, while Water Luriana is practically a senior pet beast. Could she actually have a crush on a younger one?

Even as a seasoned drama fan, Qiao Sang couldn’t bring herself to imagine that far.

She stood up, heading for the door, muttering, "I’d better go check Water Luriana’s head."

"Xun!"

Little Treasure teleported in front, urging her to trust him.

Qiao Sang twitched a smile, resigned.

"Fine, let’s have Yabao give it a try."

"Yap?"

Yabao tilted his head.

Try what?

Qiao Sang thought for a moment.

"Just go ask Water Luriana if she would like to stay here. If she agrees, you two can be together, but only if we make a contract, so we can travel together in the future."

She turned to Little Treasure. "Little Treasure, since Yabao says Water Luriana won’t come out, could you help out?"

"Xun!" Little Treasure looked thrilled.

"Yap..." Yabao seemed totally lost.

As Yabao and Little Treasure walked off, Qiao Sang sat down with her book.

Better to stay out of this; Water Luriana might just splash her with water again.

Yabao was bound to fail, but at least this could let Water Luriana know she’s open to contracting her and see how she feels.

On another note, Water Luriana actually managed to master the water jet technique.

When Yabao and the others return, she’ll still check on her head, and ask her to show the move once more.

"Lu lu..."

Qiao Sang’s thoughts were interrupted by a voice.

She looked over.

Water Luriana stood by her bed, face bright red, looking shy.

Next to her were a very puzzled Yabao and Little Treasure, who had a Praise me! look.

"Lu lu~"

Qiao Sang: ???
