Chapter 10: Purging Poison!
Shadow Guard Xie Ye managed to get all first of the five ingredients mentioned on the paper by using 1% of the personal wealth of Lord City Yong. As for the last one, he had to go out of the city and kill many eight legs spiders to get it.
After getting all of them, Xie Ye returned to the family.
Following the commands of City Lord Yong, he handed the things to Lord Xie Yang early in the morning.
Without having breakfast or waiting for Lin Hua to wake up, Lord Xie Yang went to a vacant room and took the ingredients with him. The room had a small table and a cushion next to him. He placed the things on it and sat on the pillow. His maids looked at him in bewilderment as they wondered what he was doing. He turned to his personal maids, Hei and Bei, and ordered them to bring a few things to him.
They returned to him with a mortar and pestle, a measurement glass, a plate, a steel ladle, and a sharp, iron kitchen knife.
Once they placed it on the small table, Lord Xie Yang ordered them to leave him alone and not let anyone in, no matter who it was, not even his father.
The maids nodded, left the room, closed shut the door, and stood guard next to it.
"Let's start."
Lord Xie Yang cut the first herb into two equal pieces. He chopped up the second herb into four parts. He sliced the third into five and the fourth into twelve pieces.
He put one piece of each ingredient and put them in the mortar. Then, he used the pestle to pound them. Each of his movements carried the same amount of force. He expertly mashed the four pieces of four different ingredients into powder in 29 minutes. He sighed as he thought that he seriously lacked strength.
When he was the king of spirits, doing such a thing would've only taken him a couple of seconds.
"The base is complete." Lord Xie Yang felt a surge of peace as he saw the four colored powder in the mortar. It was the base of the low-budget purifying powder. To complete it, he needed to mix the last ingredient into it.
The last ingredient was the steel-legged spider blood. He poured a liter of it into the measurement glass and let the cold in the surroundings cool it to a temperature where its upper layer would start to freeze. It took a couple of minutes before a layer of frost appeared on the blood. He scooped it up with the ladle and poured it on the four-colored powder.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
He started pounding once again. He methodically transformed the four-colored powder into a five-colored powder which signified that it had become a purifying powder.
He picked up the mortar, bought it next to the plate, and tilted it, causing the content inside of it to pour out on the plate. The plate, which got decorated with five-colored powder, looked exceptionally beautiful under the rays of sunlight that seeped into the room through the open windows.
Lord Xie Yang lowered his face, bringing it close to the plate. Then, he sniffed, inhaling the powder through his nose.
A putrid smell is so horrendous that it would make a person feel light-headed filled his senses. Tears appeared in his eyes, and his vision blurred. Lord Xie Yang bit on his tongue to regain clarity and sniffed again.
The putrid smell attacked him once again, trying to knock him unconscious.
However, he endured through it.
He kept on sniffing until he left no purifying powder on the plate.
The thousands of grams of purifying powder entered his body. As if guided by an invisible threat or an attractive force, all of it entered his elixir field and charged towards the spiritual energy scattering powder. The scene didn't pale compared to a group of wild men going bonkers after seeing a woman for the first time in their life or a man suddenly finding a pond in the middle of a desert.
Ten grains of the purifying powder pounced on a grain of the spiritual energy scattering powder, trying to devour it. The latter fought back, trying to kill it first.
Some moments later, both ended up killing each other. As a result, a pile of disastrous goo appeared in Lord Xie Yang's elixir field. It took a couple of minutes to get excreted from his elixir field and enter his stomach. Once that happened, Lord Xie Yang's stomach churned violently.
"Oh, it is coming!"
Lord Xie Yang's eye brightened up in happiness, and the next moment, an awful sound escaped his mouth as black liquid surged out of his opened mouth, splashing on the ground, turning it so black and dirty that it didn't look different than a pig's shit. The floor, which got touched by the black liquid, showed a slight sign of melting!
"Son, are you alright?" City Lord Xie Yong, who was hiding behind the vacant room, heard the terrible voice and charged into the room despite the protest of the two maids, Hei and Bei. He went up to Xie Yang and held him gently, almost as if he was a porcelain vase that would shatter if touched roughly.
Lord Xie Yang looked at his father and found a worried expression on his face. The reason why he told the maids not to let anyone, especially his father, in the room was because he knew that they would worry endlessly about him.
"Father, I am alright." He said with a slight smile as he patted his father's back.
He had to repeat the safe stuff multiple times to make his father believe he was in perfect condition.
"You two clean the room and put the herbs in my treasury." City Lord Xie Yang ordered the two maids.
"Yes, young master." The two maids bowed in respect of his status and acceptance of his command.
Lord Xie Yang turned towards his father and said, "I know you've many questions. Let's talk it over a cup of tea."
"Okay," said City Lord Yong.
