Chapter 65: The entire upper society is awed!

“So, how is it? Can you feel it?”

“It’s true! I can feel my magic energy increasing by hundreds of units! My magic energy rivals that of a Grandmaster of magicians! This artifact has been with me for years, and I only wore it for it looks good, but it’s only today that I realized its true worth. Thank you, honorable appraiser Joker. How can I ever repay you?”

Within the main hall of the artifact gallery, a middle-aged woman, wearing a revealing dress that showed her slender, hairless legs and portions of her breasts, found out that the earring she was wearing wasn’t a mere earring but a piece of artifacts thanks to Joker, who calmly indulged himself in the view of her beauty.

An instant after she said those words, the gasps of the appraisers and the customer sounded in the hall, attracting Elliot’s gaze, and he saw that everyone was looking at him, making him feel like he has become the center of attention, just what he wanted.

“This is the seventh time he has correctly appraised an item! This person is a genius, a prodigy amongst us appraisers.”

“What a lucky day for me. I can’t believe that I am in the presence of an honorable appraiser.”

“He can help us appraise a lot of our items!”

Without surprise, the people inside the artifact gallery started a commotion, praising Elliot to the highest heaven.

However, some of them didn’t like the fact that a never-before-seen appraiser has become the center of attention, and they rebuked loudly.

“Who knows? Maybe he just got lucky!”

“Yeah, it’s just beginner luck.”

“Hmph! He is hiding his identity, and that alone makes him fishy. I think he is a phony who paid a few people to act for him. It’s all fake, I say! It’s all fake. There is no way a appraise can appraise seven items correctly without taking a breath!”

The ridicule directed at him was instantly suppressed by the waves of support and praises coming from all directions, resonating in his ears, making him hold his head high in pride.

Those looking at him felt that they were staring at the sage of wisdom, who refused to acknowledge the gods and their creations for their foolishness.

“I don’t need petty wealth. Write me an IOU and leave behind a way for me to communicate with you. When I demand it, come and help me out. Are you fine with that?” Elliot replied to the lady with red lips.

She agreed, signing a magic contract with him, and then handing over her personal number, business card, and three sizes to him.

“Call me whenever you need me,” Lana licked her red lips with her soft tongue and winked at him suggestively, signifying with her actions that she would like to have a war with him in the bed before she left the artifact gallery.

“Honorable appraiser, please check my items!”

“Me too!”

“Me three!”

A lot of people wanted to have their unidentified objects appraised under his hands.

Elliot’s stretched back into a wide smile and he said, “Come one by one if you have a magic contract with you and are willing to pay me five thousand magic coins and help me in my times of need.”

An hour later, once Elliot finished appraising the one hundred items and telling everything about them to their owners, he managed to obtain a hundred IOU meaning that a hundred people owe him and they will return the favor to honor the deal or be punished severely for breaking the magic contract.

His act left hundreds of people speechless, and they were so shocked to their core that their eyes threatened to pop out of their sockets, and their gaping mouths changed to complete circles, opened wide enough to have seven carrots stick inside of them.

“Just how has he managed to perfectly appraise a hundred items within an hour?”

“He has broken the world record set by the current best appraiser!”

“Doesn’t that mean he is the best appraiser in the world now!”

“Holy shit, the world’s best appraiser is in front of me right now!”

“Am I dreaming? If so, help me wake up!”

“I regret not believing in him and trying to ruin his reputation!”

Elliot’s eyes squinted in joy, happy to be the center of attraction.

“Interesting,” said a man in black with a pair of inky, black eyes while looking at Elliot from a distance, sipping wine.

“Knife, order the low ranking serpent devils to gather here,” the man said under his breath, smiling widely, intent on kidnapping Elliot.

“As you command, master.” Knife said, going away from his master and out of the artifact gallery.

***

The man’s evil stare didn’t go unnoticed by Elliot, and as he peeked a glance at him, he realized that this man was one of the most infamous sinners on the two planets.

[Name: Curtis

Evolutionary stage: Channel Opening stage

Level: 5

Alignment: Pure evil

Emotion: He is eyeing you, expressing a large amount of ill intent.]

The information popping up in his mind also told him that Curtis has killed around a hundred civilians and looted the honor of dozens of corpses.

He was a sick bastard.

“If he comes after me tonight then I will make sure that he doesn’t get to live to see the morning sun,” Elliot said wordlessly, praying to be targeted by him so that he would kill him with his own hands.

“When are we going to go back?” Lisa asked, hugging Elliot’s elbow.

“Right now,” Elliot replied.

“But Honorable appraiser–“

“Enough!” Elliot said, stopping the members of the upper society from coming up to him. “I’m tired and it’s time for me to rest. Do not feel sad, however, for I shall return here once again the day after tomorrow.”

Immediately after he finished speaking those words, he went out of the artifact gallery with Lisa, leaving the rest of them to eat his dust and wait for his return in excitement and anticipation.

“Shouldn’t I be rewarded?” Lisa asked in the middle of the streets, asking for a reward for helping him earn around 2 million magic coins, a passive income of 100 thousand magic coins, and a beautiful wife on top of that.

Elliot beamed a smile toward her.

“Oh, what do you want?”

“All I want is you.” Lisa kneeled to him, showing him a ring box. “Let’s get married!”

Elliot stopped in his tracks and lowered his head to look at her in the eyes, only to see Lisa looking into his eyes with gentleness and love, and he couldn’t help but raise his hand and pat her in the head.

Lisa’s eyes squinted in happiness as she felt him gently caressing her head and ruffling her hair, and she couldn’t help but ask, “Should I take this as a sign of you accepting me?”

“No can do. I will think about marrying you after graduating from the academy.” Elliot said in a calm voice, shooting her down, killing the mood, hence earning the title of mood killer.

“You will only think about it, and that too after two whole years?!” Lisa’s eyes widened in shock.
