Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 24: A Burst of Emotion

Chapter 24: A Burst of Emotion

“Oh, look who is trying to play the hero in the middle of the day, the weakest magician, Elliot,” Alexander said in a taunting manner.

“Looks like you don’t only like to pick on the weak and bow before the strong, but also remain ignorant to the world.” Elliot chuckled as he looked at him with his God’s eye of Wisdom.

<Name: Alexander>

<Race: Human>

<Ability: Wind>

<Evolutionary Stage: fifth Level of the Magical Realm>

<Strength: 15>

<Speed: 14>

<Stamina: 14>

Alexander’s stats were weaker than him!

Elliot smiled, knowing well full that he can defeat Alexander and that he will only feel satisfied by playing with him in the same way a cat plays with a mouse.

“Elliot is no longer the weakest magician without an ability. He is now an awakened magician with a powerful ability. Does Alexander not know of that? If he doesn’t, then it is not wrong to call him ignorant.” John made fun of Alexander in his mind as he looked at them. He didn’t dare to move from his spot as Alexander was standing beside him and he was worried that he might be attacked if he moved.

Alexander knew that Elliot has awakened but it has only been a day since he awakened, just how much control does he even have over his ability when compared to himself who has been training his ability for four years!

Alexander believed that he will because he has trained his ability for far longer than Elliot.

“Did awakening boost your confidence to the point you’ve started to look down on me even in a deserted place? Look around you, Elli. There’s no one here but us. This time no one’s coming to save you!”

An instant after Alexander said those words, wind burst from beneath, launching him forward, alongside his fists that aimed directly at Elliot’s face.

Whoosh!

Alexander covered the distance between them in a second, and his fists were about to crash on Elliot’s body when at that very moment, Elliot’s eyes brighten in a profound light, an image of two shields popping up inside of his mind.

Two shields suddenly appeared just in time to block Alexander’s fists.

Bam!

His fist crashed on the shields, causing web-like cracks to spread on them from the point of impact.

“How could this be? How could a loser stop my attack two times in a row?!” Alexander said in a surprised voice, finding it hard to believe that Elliot has blocked his powerful attack so casually.

However, his eyes widened the very next instant as Elliot rushed out from behind the shield and landed on a heavy punch on his face.

Alexander slid back on the floor before coming to a halt some meters away from Elliot, blood dripping out the corner of his mouth.

“I will make you pay for this!” Alexander said in an angry voice as murderous desires flooded out of his eyes.

“Ha! I’ll be the only one getting paid,” Elliot said, a smile stretching across his face.

Alexander’s hands sprang forward continuously, throwing wind blasts at Elliot from a distance.

Elliot dodged them by moving to the left and the right while using his shields to block the one he couldn’t dodge.

“Having a hard time, now aren’t ya!” Alexander laughed, thinking that it is hard for Elliot to dodge his attacks.

However, in John’s eyes, Elliot was moving around and dodging Alexander’s wind blast with ease.

It didn’t take too long for Alexander to realize that none of his attacks were connecting and that he was on the last few units of his magic energy. A magician channeled magic energy into the supernatural cells present in the bloodstream to activate their ability. Magic energy was necessary to activate an ability. Without it, a magician cannot activate their ability.

“How can you keep on dodging my attacks? How have you become so fast?” Alexander said, looking at Elliot with an expression of bewilderment.

“Seriously, your ability isn’t even that good. It’s too easy to evade and block. You don’t know that. Do you know why? You’ve always been picking on the weak, and that’s why you never realized your own weakness.” Elliot taunted him while landing a few quick punches on his face.

Alexander was pushed back to the wall under his brutal punches.

“Ugh! I will kill you!” Alexander suddenly channeled the last bit of his magic energy into his supernatural cells and released a powerful wind sphere that was many times quicker and more powerful than the attacks before.

Just as it was about to crash on Elliot’s body, an enormous amount of the essence of life burst forth from his body, immediately shaping into a golden shield several times thicker than the ones before.

Boom

The wind sphere crashed on the shield, resulting in a loud booming sound. The impact generated gales of wind which dispersed in the surrounding, ruffling Elliot’s hair just the way he likes it.

“You’re still fine?!”

Alexander felt shook arising in his heart as he saw Elliot walking towards him without a single scratch on his body.

Elliot smiled, giving his childhood bully a smug look, and said, “What else did you expect was going to happen? Did you believe your weak attack that can’t even harm an ant was going to topple me over to the ground, eh?”

“You!” Alexander’s eyes twitched and he tried to attack, only to face a backlash for overusing his ability and coughed out a mouthful of blood in anger and frustration.

Elliot saw that and started giggling. “Can’t attack anymore? You ran out of magic energy. Correct me if I’m wrong.”

“Damn You!” Alexander didn’t know what to say as he truly has run out of magic energy.

He glared at him in silence.

“Without your ability, you don’t seem threatening at all. No. You look more like a cornered rat. I bet I can beat the shit out of you without using my ability.” Elliot said with a smug look on his face as he stepped close to him.

“Shut your crap!” Alexander shouted as he rushed towards him in anger and punched at his face.

Elliot stepped to the side, dodging his punch before grabbing his outstretched hand. Then with a slight raise of his hand, Alexander got picked up, and then Elliot smashed his back to the ground.

“Ugh!”

Alexander winced, feeling pain in his back.

But this was just the start of his misery!

Elliot pressed his arms with his knees and began throwing punches at his face.

Pa! Pa! Pa!

“Please stop!” Alexander begged for mercy after a few moments of being senselessly beaten.

“You never did when I said those words,” Elliot said, remembering the most unpleasant and embarrassing moments of his life.

What did he ever do wrong for Alexander and his friend to mercilessly beat him in Magic high school?

Wasn’t he just the weakest magician?

He wasn’t some kind of criminal!

He was just a damned weak orphan!

So why?

Why had they beaten him senseless all the time?

Why had they mocked him all the time?

Just why?!

Elliot unleashed all of his negative emotion and fury by punching Alexander in the face.

“At this rate, he will die,” John said, worried that Elliot would get in trouble for killing a magician.

“Don’t worry. I will make sure to leave him alive.” Elliot said as he continued to beat Alexander.

Gah!

“It hurts!”

“No, you are being too harsh!”

Argh!

“Please spare me.”

“Sure, only if you say the same thing while calling me daddy.”

“But-“

“You don’t want to?”

“No, no! Daddy, please spare me.”

“Good boy.”

“You Fucker!”

Ahh!

He didn’t stop until Alexander was beaten black and blue, got panda eyes, got some teeth knocked out in the process, and lost his consciousness.

Just as Alexander fell unconscious, a notification popped up in front of his eyes, bringing with it great news that widened Elliot’s eyes.
