Author's Destiny in The Novel

Chapter 16 The Arcadia Academy

There had been a few changes to my status since the last time I checked it. My luck stat had changed once again not that it mattered because I never knew what 'N' or '?' even was. As for my stats, they had already reached the [E-] and most of them were even higher. One had to know that a regular [E] rank might not even have all his stats at the [E] rank. There could be some at the [E-] too. This was also how I'd be able to fight people at the [E+] rank with the help of my affinity and stats combined.

Originally, I had [F-] stats at the [G-] rank but that was only because even though I might have fallen in ranks, I still used to be a [F] rank myself. Now, my stat increase had stabilized and it'd probably stay this way in the future. While my vitality wasn't that high, it was still good enough. Agility was the only stat that could make one invincible as long as it was high enough. Having an unbreakable defense or possessing the strength to one-shot people didn't matter if you couldn't hit them at all. As long as one was fast enough, there'd be nothing stopping them from treating you as a sitting duck.

On to the affinity, I was shocked by how it said I still had the Earth affinity. It seemed that increasing my mana control let me be able to control the earth affinity once again which I couldn't before. This was a good thing as even though I couldn't dual-wield both elements at the same time, I could still use [Earth] as a cover in case I ever needed to use an element in public. This was a pleasant surprise although not as shocking because I wasn't the only person out there with two elements. Alex was the only person who could dual-wield elements of opposite properties simultaneously, which created a deadly synergy effect, boosting the powers of his elements several times.

The thing I was most happy about though, were my skills. You see, people might think that the more precise information your skill provided you, the better it was. That was totally wrong. Precise information meant that there were fixed limits to your skill which had close-to-no hope for getting increased. On the other hand, the vaguer the skill description got, the more broader the powers it brought along with it. Earlier, the skill [Divine Eyes] had a setting that let the user see through illusions. Now, on the other hand, it could see through the "True Nature" of things. This "True Nature" of things enveloped a category of something far more than simply illusions. I also noticed that I had an ability named [Space and Time Manipulation] as an innate ability. Innate abilities were something that could be said to be in-built deep in your body. In my case, this ability existed in my eyes though from what I could feel, I'd need at least a [B+] rank mana pool to activate it.

Another thing that wasn't mentioned in my status was the [Divine Weapon] I had picked up to inherit the [God of Destruction]'s legacy. It wasn't simply an item used to pass on his legacy. The sword was the weapon the god himself had used. Although I couldn't activate its true strength at the moment due to my meager strength, I could still use it as a sharp sword. It was probably the sharpest strong in the world so I could cut through anything like butter as long as I had enough strength to swing it fast enough.

Even the sharpest knife might not be able to cut a block of butter if one didn't even use any strength to cut it at all. One would need to exert a minimum amount of force to do that. This [Divine Weapon] or so I called it wasn't in my storage ring. Instead, it existed inside my soul itself for some reason. I could manifest it at will and call it back from wherever in the world it might be. A pretty handful feature if I must say so.

With my current strength, I was definitely one of the top Awakened, if not the strongest that was going to attend the [Arcadia] academy. Yes, it was finally time for the Entrance examinations to start today, in a few hours. I made my way back to the Mana Train which set off towards the Luminar city where the academy was located in.

.

.

[A few hours later]

As long as one was an Awakened, he or she would be allowed to participate in the Entrance examinations. Though, I already knew what the practical test would be.

Luminar city was one of the most well-developed cities I'd ever seen. It was an ideal example of how perfect cities should be, with neatly built roads and a surrounding area that depicted no signs of poverty. Magic was used in several important places and infrastructure. Vehicles also employed Magic these days to function in a much more efficient manner while barely generating any pollution at all.

The western part of the whole city belonged to the [Arcadia] academy. That's right, the campus took over a quarter of the whole city itself. It was surrounded by a gigantic barrier covering the whole Academy and huge walls golden-black in color. I went over to the main gate where a huge line had formed. These were the people who were trying to apply for the examinations at the very last moment. I had already applied long ago and could simply step inside for the test after a simple verification of my identity. While walking I took note of my surroundings, hoping to see some familiar faces from the illustrations in my novel. And voila, there he was. Standing in front of the line for the people trying to apply for the Entrance examinations, I spotted a thin and slightly ugly-looking man whose face I couldn't have been any more familiar with. He had probably just come back from the Snowhaven region a few days ago and didn't get time to apply earlier. The same way as it was in the novel. I wasn't really much interested in guys, much less ugly people so I ignored his presence and stepped inside the academy.
