Chapter 101. Relentless Fighting. Sylvans Transform!

Liu Shu looked on with a neutral gaze as the five people closed the distance.

While the attacks of the Aether Mana users were devastating, the Rose Fairies and Ants were hidden by her wall, avoiding fatal strikes that were created when the explosions occurred. At most, Liu Shu could see the weaker ants and Rose Fairies being blasted away by the air pressure they generated.

'Hm. They will breach the walls.' Liu Shu was certain that they could do so. She had not expected the defensive qualities and skills of the shield bearers to be so high. Even when the giant trees on the walls or <Mother Of Thousand Flower Field> landed attacks, they weren't dealing more than fifty damage per attack.

Of course, that slowly sliced the tens of thousands of Phoer Body Shards they had. However, it was not enough to stop them. 

As she expected, the five of them arrived in front of her dented wall, and all five of them had activated different skills simultaneously, aiming at the same place.

With their mighty shouts, a massive shockwave spread when the attacks landed, and Liu Shu saw how the root wall was ripped apart, creating a massive hole that passed through it.

Seeing the opening, one of the humans rushed the rest. The female shield bearer ordered. "Quick! Break through and kill all those low-level monsters! We can deal with the World Tree later!"

The Earth Sylvan frowned as they moved without her orders and shouted. "Wait! Don't rush!" 

However, how could they listen? The Phoer Body Shards of the melees were already at 70%, while the rest had around 80% of their vitality left. 

The attacks of the supposedly low-level creatures were proving to be much more effective than they expected. 

Nevertheless, once they crossed the wall's boundaries, the group that had not been attacking as much moved.

The Myconids, who didn't have strong long-distance skills, were experts at crowd control and inflicting ailments on enemies. 

The Level 10 Myconid took the lead and stomped the ground several times in a row, shaking his body and making his large fungal head jiggle. The rest of them followed, doing the same actions. 

While it looked funny, the effects were nothing but that.

The humans were covered by several mists of different colors, creating a brownish fog once they combined. The Earth Sylvan's face changed when she saw that the Rose Fairies and Ants were actually retreating even when they had breached through and shouted. "DON'T BREATHE THE FOG IN!"

However, even she was a bit late, having inhaled a little of that mix.

The five people's faces paled tremendously as the same message flashed in their minds. On the battlefield, even a simple headache was enough to become lethally dangerous. All of the effects they received combined were enough to place a healthy human bedridden; it was superfluous to mention what would happen when a soldier on the battlefield received them.

The Earth Sylvan's mind flashed with several thoughts, trying to know what to do. While she had learned spells that could alleviate some of the symptoms, others were not so easy to cure. "<Mind Sharpness>."

The first thing was to naturally cure all ailments she could, like <Nausea>, <Dizziness>, <Headache>, and <Numbness>. 

However, the last three were a real pain, and she could do nothing about it. Hence, she warned while the melees protected them from the constant ranged attacks of the Rose Fairies and Fire Ants. "Our stamina has just dropped severely! We need to deal with the World Tree first since these are not a threat!" 

"SHUT UP!" The blonde human woman shouted as she felt her breathing becoming rough while receiving a relentless assault from hundreds of creatures. "If you want to order us around, at least say something with sense! Have you ever looked at the World Tree!? We couldn't see it before, but now you can! GIVE IT A LOOK!"

The Earth Sylvan had been so focused on her surroundings that she failed to do so, so she did. 

However, the second she looked over, her breath got stuck in her throat. 

In the middle of the town, around 100 meters away from them, a 13-meter-tall tree stood with a terrifyingly deep aura around it.

The aura of the World Tree was surging like a tsunami and coating everything around it like an all-encompassing hand. 

Not only that, the second she looked over, as a Sylvan with a high affinity for nature and earth, she could immediately sense the deep and complex root system going on below her feet. Moreover, Liu Shu's gaze landed on Sylvan at the same time she looked over, making her feel small even when she had doubled the level of the creature.

"W-What is that?"

Stressed and exhausted, the blonde woman screamed. "I DON'T KNOW, ROOTLESS! CAN YOU TRANSFORM ALREADY AND GET US OUT OF THIS PREDICAMENT!?"

However, the Earth Sylvan's face became twisted when she heard the "rootless" insult. After all, the Sylvans who had betrayed nature for selfish reasons lost their ability to grow roots, and even their transformation ability changed to a more human-like form.

She said coldly. "I am going to have a talk with you later." However, she didn't mess up her priorities and began transforming.

Before the place where she was affiliated with recruited her, she was a talented Sylvan who had unlocked her transformation at Level 11 and was quite nature-loving. Of course, this changed once she entered her current power and saw the side of the world that she didn't want to see, and that was that most World Trees were not free beings but tied ones. 

Hence, while she wasn't hunting World Trees down because she hated them, in her mind, she thought that she was liberating them from their prison, even if she had to kill them.

In short, she had a twisted sense of righteousness. 

When her aura skyrocketed, and she started transforming into her True Form, Liu Shu's gaze became murderous, and she ridiculed aloud, her voice spreading like a pressure wave that had a harsh, mocking tone. 'Took you long enough, Sylvan. Now, die.'

The <Mother Of Thousand Flower Field> that had been suspiciously silent burst with energy as more than half of the ring took aim at the Sylvan, and the World Tree's Aether Mana reserves dipped by 20%. 

The faces of the four humans changed when they heard the World Tree's voice and tried to move, but it was too late.

In the next second, the <Mother Of Thousand Flower Field> shot several hundreds of seeds at their position with different angles. 

The transforming Sylvan needed to be still for a few moments, which usually were protected by the powerful energy that surrounded them during this time. However, the Earth Sylvan was not prepared to be attacked from the air and underground simultaneously.

Powerful roots blasted the ground below them open and coiled around the Sylvan, even when her pressure was shredding those roots like sharp winds.

A terrible pain reached Liu Shu's mind as her roots were destroyed, making the World Tree wail. 

However, even when the pain was enough to make her want to attack everything around her indiscriminately, she held onto her with a tight grip, and the seeds arrived.

The explosive seed rain echoed around, a melody of violence accompanied by the World Tree's wails of pain.

The Rose Fairies and Myconids were stunned as four humans shot out of the explosion with sorry looks, having each lost around 20% more of the Phoer Body Shards. 

Amapola saw some eager looks between them and shouted. "DON'T ATTACK! If you go now, you will die! Coordinate with Liu Shu as we've been doing, and keep a safe distance!" 

However, right after Amapola shouted, three powerful auras came from the forest. Amapola's heart sank for a second, but when she saw the Fire Ants raising their mandibles and becoming excited, her eyes gained a hopeful look.

A shout filled with wrath like no other changed her hope into excitement.

"HOW DARE YOU MAKE TIANTIAN CRY IN PAIN!?"

The four humans didn't even have time to check the state of the Earth Sylvan when something rushed at them like a flaming meteor.

"What!?"

BOOOM!

A fiery detonation pushed them back a few steps as the creature that landed in front of them was revealed from the crater. 

A more than three-meter tall human-like female plant creature surrounded in flames rushed at them, the aura of heat making their skin itch as the pressure released by her became intimidating. 

Yet, that was not all. At some point, another similar yet completely opposite being appeared behind them, surrounded by a terrifying life aura. 

"Destroying my Liu'er's town only has one outcome, and that's Death." 

Verdantia's body, now equally tall to Cinderielle's, was the manifestation of what a humanoid female tree would look like if it had grown legs. A gorgeous flower dress covered her curvy body, and her skin gained a bark-like texture that appeared smooth and full of vitality.

Her green hair grew beyond her height, trailing behind her figure as flowers grew on her hair locks as if they were branches. 

Her eyes, completely green and radiating light, emitted the breath of life, and her surroundings became alive as four creatures grew from the ground.

The humans quickly checked the Fire Sylvan's stats, and they noticed that things took a turn for the worse.

Ignatia walked from the hole the humans did and commented. "You've provoked the wrong people."

As soon as she stopped speaking, the place started trembling, and everyone looked in the direction of the sound, which was the smoke cloud created by Liu Shu's attack. 

From it, a tall woman, reaching almost 4 meters tall, appeared, having yellowish rocky skin. Her hair flowed like dirt, and even when her body was covered with injuries, a deep anger could be felt behind her sturdy aura.

Cinderielle was close, so she charged at her, not wanting to give her a chance to recover. Her entire body burst into flames, and she rushed toward her like a flaming asteroid, her punch swirling with powerful flames.

Yet, the slow-looking Earth Sylvan reacted with surprising agility, her own body being coated by a sturdy rocky skin and answering with a punch of her own. "Blast off!" 

BOOM!

Fists collided, and Cinderielle's face changed to one of surprise as she was blasted back for several steps while her Phoer Body Shards decreased by more than 1000. 

Surprised, she quickly analyzed the transformed enemy Sylvan.

Three mounds began rising around her, and soon, three extra Level 10 creatures appeared by their side. 

Ignatia's face was solemn. 'This won't be as easy as it seems.'
