Chapter 249: Critically Wounding Valoz, Suppressing the Entity

Chapter 249: Critically Wounding Valoz, Suppressing the Entity

With heaven shattering booms, Layla and Valoz crashed into each other like jets in the airspace creating a shockwave in the surroundings. When this happened, both fell back by a few meters, one spitting blood as the other had a look of annoyance.

'Tch, this mutated lifeform is truly a hassle, if only I could have completely fused with this body, then I could use her innate angelic powers to their maximum capacity. Such a pity... such a pity indeed...'

Layla thought with an odd look on her face, her manner akin to another lifeform in entirety as she glared at Valoz with killing intent. Suddenly, Layla's eyes flickered as she clenched her teeth, her face showing a trace of resistance as her energies started to grow disorderly.

Not wasting a moment, she gripped on side of her head and spoke out loud as if speaking to herself, "Oh, so you're trying to fight back, huhu... little one, you should know what's done cannot be changed, you and I may be disconnected for many spaces, but our link is stronger than anything you could even possibly imagine. Give up your resistance and accept your fate..."

While the strange Layla was busy talking to herself as she tried to regain her body, Valoz who had spat blood due to him falling behind in power, had a savage look on his face. even more so when he noticed that his opponent wasn't paying him any mind.

"Little bitch, die!" Valoz shouted as he conjured another ball of energy, utilizing most of his power to fire another Primal Psycho Beam.

With a piercing sound, the spiraling beam once more fired towards Layla as it split off into multiple blasts that swept from all angles, completely blocking off her airborne escape roots.

In this instance, the entity in Layla's body finally realized the change around him, normally it would have been a synch to avoid this attack, but because of Layla's interference, it couldn't react in time.

"Darn! Stop right now! Are you trying to get us killed?" The entity said in shock and anger, trying his very best to wrestle back complete control of her energies. However, it was too late.

"Noooo!" The entity cried out in horror, as he saw the beams closing in from a few feet away before they exploded in unison, creating a bright colorful scene in the sky.

As Valoz heard the pitiful scream in the sky, his eyes shown with excitement as he lifted his head and laughed, "Hahaha! Silly human, even if you've got some special means, in the end, you lost due to your own lack of focus!"

He was feeling awful that a girl like that could match him, even more so that a human could make such a strange transformation, yet, he could only achieve his current state after thousands of years of plotting and festering the Generic Blood Corpse.

As he thought to hear, Valoz didn't feel fully relieved, he stared at the explosion above and prepared to attack once more, but suddenly, his eyes widened as he sensed a dreadful power from behind him. Yet, before he could even react, the power had already acted.

Instantly, a brilliant flash of crimson light blasted from a distance, sweeping by his form with a series of flashing arcs before it vanished into the explosion of lights above.

Valoz was in such shock that he didn't even know what to say, even more so when he looked at his mighty figure that now had one arm missing along with a few grievous wounds. His body bleeding from all angles as a surge of weakness overcome him.

'What? How can this be? Who else in the world could heavily injure me in this form?' Valoz thought with a panicked filled face as he coughed out a mouth load of blood, his manner now even weaker than the norm.

"Damn! I can't lose like this, not to some unknown bastard!" Valoz cursed in anger as he forcefully tried to suppress his grievous wounds with his remaining blood genetic power. He was about to charge towards it, but suddenly a flash of blue light had appeared before him as a familiar silhouette appeared. Not long after, a cloud of steam arrived behind him, and a fat muscular figure appeared.

Valoz frowned as he saw the two that appeared, his eyes turning stern as he felt an immense threat from their bodies.

"Haha, what's up big guy, did you forget us?" Joe said as he stared at Valoz with a cruel look on his face, his muscular arms holding his arc shield in a posture that seemed ready to charge at any moment.

Rick also gave Valoz a sharp look as he angled his spear and readied himself for battle. His imposing manner causing Valoz to shrink back a little.

'Darn, I didn't think these weak little pests could suddenly grow so strong, it looks like I might have a troublesome battle ahead.'

Valoz thought as he knew his current condition wasn't one for a prolonged battle, even more so after spending a large amount of his blood energic power to kill his foe before ending up critically injured by an unknown being.

The tension rose even further as Breya and Emilia arrived nearby, but they couldn't help but shift their eyes towards the direction the crimson lights went, looking towards it with a hint of hope.

At this moment, within the explosion, the world was now one of color as the entity that controlled Layla couldn't even move her body, viewing the world around it in pain and regret. Its mind was slowly beginning to slip away, but it fiercely tried to keep its consciousness as it thought to itself.

'Just what the hell, what the hell has caused her to grow so determined as to force me to this state?'

The entity thought in confusion, it knew just how hard it would have been for something to even wake her conscious mind even more so after performing his strange technique to seize her being. He thought for a while but suddenly, he soon saw that a strange half brown and the half crimson-haired man had appeared before him.

'Hmm, who is.... wait... that face, is it him?' The entity thought as he recalled Evan's face from Layla's memories.

'So that's how it is... that's why this happened... che! Damn, you insolent little witch, since you don't know how to show grace for my blessing, then we can die together!'

The strange entity inwardly yelled forcing control from Layla, following his words Layla's body began to glow in bright dark purple lights as if something was about to happen, but Evan who had now arrived looked at Layla inspected her core details.

When Evan saw Layla's change, he frowned even more so as he felt the ominous energies coming from her body. He was feeling a bit anxious, but he forcibly calmed himself and waved his hand causing a barrier to appear around them, blocking off the effects from the explosion as he pondered.

'She's not only awakened as an angel in full, she even had her special status unveiled, not to mention her powers being corrupted. I don't understand what's going on, but she's definitely not herself. I can think of the rest later, for now, I must save her. Core, what do I do now, how do I return her to normal?'

As if the Void Blood Pendant heard him, it sent him a reply on a screen before his face.

'Darn it, there it goes again, always giving me the worse option with the more appropriate one's being far too expensive, dammit! I can't waste time; I'll have to work with this then use one of those other means later one.' Evan thought as he gritted his teeth.

Not wasting a moment, he purchased the Superior Warding Shard which soon after appeared in his hand after a notification. It was a shard that looked no different from the regular Warding Shard with its only difference being the complex symbols on its surface.

"Hmph! To take my princess, you must be ready to pay the price. Seal!" Evan said as the Void Blood Pendant around his neck soon after glowed inbred red lights, the instant the entity noticed this, it opened its mouth as it shouted in alarm.

"You... WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?"

The voice sounded across the skies, disrupting even the raging battle between Valoz and the others outside. Evan frowned as he knew that it was talking about something other than the shard, but he merely smirked as he looked at it and spoke, "That's not of your concern."

A bright light shone as the shard flew into Layla's body, causing the seal on her forehead to form another complex diagram as the Dream Eater cried out in anger, "Damn yooouuuuu!"

His voice soon after fading away, as his will became sealed within the core of Layla's being, after losing his influence, Layla's wings disappeared as her marks faded along with her dominant energies, causing her to fall from the sky.

However, Evan waved his hand causing her to float towards him before he held her in a princess hold as he gently looked down on her unconscious face and spoke in a soft tone, "Sorry I'm late."
