An Extra’s Rise in an Eroge

Chapter 104

The students filtered out of the classroom, laughter and chatter filling the hallways. Alicia, with a quick wave, mentioned her business management class and disappeared into the crowd. Arthur, meanwhile, took a deep breath and headed toward Instructor Isabella's personal cabin as instructed.

When he opened the door, he froze in place.

Before him was a sight so captivating it felt like time stopped. Isabella was bent over, reaching for a pen on the floor. Her skirt had ridden up just enough to reveal the curve of her hips, and at the edge of the fabric, a tantalizing glimpse of black lace panties teased his vision. The way the fabric clung to her curves made it hard to look away.

She noticed his gaze almost immediately and smirked. Without straightening, she turned her head slightly and spoke in a sultry tone. "Enjoying the view, student?" she teased, her voice like velvet.

Arthur's face turned crimson. "Ah, I—" he stammered, but the words died in his throat.

Slowly, Isabella straightened, her movements unhurried and deliberate, as if savoring his flustered reaction. She turned to face him, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Why don't you have a seat, Arthur?"

Arthur swallowed hard and nodded, forcing his legs to move. He sat stiffly in the chair, his heart pounding in his chest. "Th-thank you, ma'am," he managed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Isabella took a step closer, the click of her heels echoing softly in the room. "So," she began, her tone light but dripping with suggestion, "how should I make it up to you, Student Arthur? After all, I wrongly accused you in front of the entire class. It's only fair I compensate you, don't you think?"

Arthur felt a bead of sweat trickle down his temple. "There's no need for that, ma'am," he said quickly, his voice tinged with panic.

She leaned forward slightly, her fingers brushing the edge of his desk as she closed the distance between them. "No need?" she echoed, her voice low and melodious. "I insist. How about this? I give you private lessons every day, just the two of us."

Arthur's breath hitched. She was so close now that he could catch the faint scent of her perfume, a sweet, intoxicating fragrance that made his head spin. Her eyes locked onto his, her gaze unwavering, and her lips curved into a smile that was both inviting and dangerous.

"It's really not necessary, ma'am," he tried again, his voice cracking slightly.

Isabella tilted her head, her smile widening as she ignored his words. "It's settled, then," she purred. "You'll come here every day after class. I won't take no for an answer."

Her face was so close now that her warm breath caressed his cheek, sending a shiver down his spine. He could feel his resolve slipping, his mind clouded by her overwhelming presence.

Then, like a lifeline, a sharp voice rang out in his head.

[Arthur! Snap out of it! She's using her charm on you!] Sol's warning cut through the haze, jolting him back to reality.

Arthur abruptly stood, nearly knocking over the chair in his haste. "O-Okay, ma'am! I'll, uh, come tomorrow!" he blurted out. "But I have something urgent to do today!" Without waiting for a response, he bolted out of the room, his heart racing.

Back in the cabin, Isabella chuckled softly, the sound rich and seductive. "Oh, Arthur Ludwig," she murmured, her voice dripping with amusement. "Not many can resist my charm like that. You truly are special."

Her smile faded slightly as she leaned back against her desk, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "It seems I'll need to report this to Mistress Lilith," she said quietly, her tone shifting to one of seriousness. "Arthur might be more than just a mere anomaly."

Arthur stormed out of Isabella's cabin, his heart pounding like a drum. He didn't stop until he reached the garden, where the cool air brushed against his skin, offering some relief. He leaned against a tree, trying to steady his breath.

"What the hell was that?" he muttered, running a hand through his hair. "I almost lost myself back there."

[You almost did more than that, Arthur,] Sol's voice came through, laced with a mixture of relief and warning. [If I hadn't stepped in, you'd be groveling at her feet by now.]

Arthur scowled. "I thought I was fine. Back in the classroom, her charm didn't even faze me."

[That wasn't the same, and you know it.] Sol appeared beside him, her tiny figure hovering with a stern expression. [In the classroom, it was just a passive aura—unintentional. But in her cabin? She was actively weaving her charm around you. And let's not forget who she is. Even if it's just an avatar, her magic is tied to Lilith, the Sin of Lust.]

Arthur crossed his arms, the weight of Sol's words settling in. "Great. So, I'm up against an avatar of the most seductive being in existence. Just perfect."

[You're lucky your mental strength is better than most,] Sol continued, her tone softening. [Two lives' worth of experience isn't something everyone has. But even that only took you so far. Her power isn't something you can shrug off with willpower alone.]

Arthur gritted his teeth. "So, what's the plan? I barely got out of there this time. What happens if she turns it up a notch? Am I supposed to just hope for the best?"

[You need to sharpen your mind, strengthen it.] Sol floated closer, her voice steady but encouraging.

Arthur let out a bitter laugh. "Oh, sure. Let me just hit the mental gym real quick. It's not like time is a factor or anything." His fingers curled into fists. "No, that's not enough. Just defending myself won't cut it. She wants to tame me? Let her try. I'll tame her instead. I'll make her kneel."

A grin tugged at Sol's lips. [Now that's the Arthur I know. You've got my full support.]

She landed lightly on his shoulder, giving him an approving look. [It won't be easy. But if anyone can flip the script on her, it's you. Show her who's really in control.]

Arthur straightened, his determination blazing in his eyes. "She thinks she's the hunter? She has no idea who she's dealing with."

[It's easy to talk big, but how do you actually plan to do it?] Sol's sharp voice broke through his thoughts like a needle popping a balloon.

Arthur shot her a withering look. "Why are you asking me that? You're the all-knowing system. Isn't it your job to assist me?"

Sol crossed her arms, her tiny figure hovering with an air of superiority. [Fair enough. Let me assist you.]

With a casual wave of her hand, a translucent window appeared before Arthur.

[Here's a list of items and skills capable of enslaving someone of her level:]

[Skill: Soul Dominion (SS) – 5,000,000 EP: Control the soul of targets up to grandmaster level.]

And the list went on.

Arthur's eyes darted across the interface, his frustration mounting. A vein ticked on his forehead as he glanced from the list to Sol, who wore an infuriatingly proud expression.

"Sol," Arthur said, his tone dangerously calm.

[Yes?]

"What's with these insane prices?"

Sol sighed as though she'd expected this outburst. [They're not insane. These are top-tier skills and items, powerful enough to work against beings like her. Do you think taming an avatar of Lilith comes cheap? You're up against a powerhouse. Quality has a cost.]

Arthur let out a long, exasperated sigh, rubbing his temples. He knew she was right. These weren't ordinary tools—they were S-rank and higher, capable of subjugating grand archmages or equivalent beings. Still, the reality of his situation wasn't any easier to swallow.

His gaze flicked to the corner of the screen where his balance was displayed:

657,000 EP | 98,000 FP

"Not even enough to buy the cheapest item," he muttered bitterly.

Sol's face softened slightly, but her tone remained firm. [Well, that's the reality of dealing with beings at this level. You need to be prepared to invest if you want to win.]

Arthur slumped against the tree. "Looks like I need to find another way to gather points. Fast."

His mind raced with options before settling on one. "Maybe it's time to focus on my next target... It's been a while since I brought someone new under my clutches."

[If that's your plan, I'm here to help. But you'll still need a solid amount of EP to make any real progress.]

Arthur nodded, straightening again. "Sol, show me missions that can earn EP quickly. I need to step up my game."

[Right away, Arthur.] Sol smirked, opening a new window filled with mission options.
